I agree i just got back.
But to ride there from richards this week is gonna suck.
If you want to drive to lac edward or relais 22 now thats different, but to leave from Richards would not be the same conditions as around the lac st jean.
1200 miles in 4.5 days last week and rode back thursday 17 march to shawinigan. I saw it all. Need to drive more north to not suffer.
-
Looks like an AD Boivin? Rear skid?
-
Sub Quebec conditions is what is happening. La Tuque is finished grooming Shawinigan too.Very melty here. Waited too long.
-
I have said it before you cant't fix stupid. Scary to think this guy is riding a sled. That takes some serious decision making skills which this guy obviously lacks. Or he could be drunk. One or the other, either one is proof of stupidity. "Here moosey mooosey!" rocket scientist for sure.

Rode from lac edward to shawinigan yesterday. 355 from lac edward to 73 all good 73 to la tuque perfectPipeline a bit sketchy not so great but rideableFrom st joseph to st tite sucked bad Near home around shawini was not bad but its goin fast.Best bet is a longer truck ride for the best conditions.Around the lake st jean especially north of the lake still rippin. Mt valin all good. With the warm conditions its melting real fast.

According to the french message board club La Tuque has announced they have done their final grooming of this season.
The end is near.

"In the event of a water landing your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device"
And if you use a Spot locator we will track your corpse downstrean so we can recover it for your next of kin.
You can be next years poster boy for FCMQ on safe sledding
Just not smart no matter how many times you got lucky before,
Do you run a waterproof belt?
Keep on skippin skipper

Whatever works for you is ok with me.
My group has at least one sat phone.
Just no sense ever having to say
"wish we had a sat phone"
Remember that finacial stretch, my life is worth a lot more then 540 no probably for me.
-
You can put lipstick on a cat and its still a cat. Sorry its true.
-
Satphonestore.com is one place.
There are many rental places they fedex the phone to you in the usa then you mail it back when you get back.
Its like 6 to 10 bucks a day
Iridium has the best coverage in QC.
Any talking on it is like 1.75 a minute. Its just for emergencies i
If you want you can buy minutes to use it but it costs more and if you do not use the minutes you get no refund for them.
It is very doable and as necessary as a helmet in my opinion.
Something you never want to have to use.
But as i said before you need the emergency numbers for each region they are different for each area. (police SQ, and Ambulance.)
-
Sat phone still the best chance.
Hands down and if you can afford to ride in Quebec especially in the real Bush its not a big deal to rent one.
This thing has no voice capability all e-mail and text but better then nothing for sure.
Do you want to wonder if someone is coming waiting for e-mail or text? or hear it with your own ears? On a sat phone.
-
Had rain sat afternoon and night alot. Snow after and still today about 8" new snow after the rain.Warm fri and saturday is the forecast with more rain possible but great now.

So these fella's were out riding together, I think maybe too close to each other and a bit fast for the conditions. Oh yeah and the Drag minus the Dozer that was stuck in the trail, you know over that little rise where you just can't know what is there till its way too late. This was late in the season in St. Maurice. On TQ 3. The Firecat was leading followed by the Two Polaris motos.
