  1. Spot seems like a good idea, but I have said it before and will again now Satellite Phone is what is needed with GPS as well of course to give your exact position if need be. You also need the proper numbers for Emergency for the regions you are riding through. 911 is not what you want to dial. There are different numbers for the police SQ and Rescue for each region. Yes depending where you are it can take hours to get help even with a sat phone the right numbers and great weather. Its remote in some places and for sure Clova is one of those areas in the middle of no where. She is very lucky for sure. Just curious, any studs on the sled she was riding?was their alot of ice to make her loose control or just too much brake? I have been through clova but the lepine road trail i have never ridden. I know is supposed to be a very fast run. Its a private trail yes? Not a Federal trail. A shortcut if you will. But groomed and maintained privately i think.

  2. Do not be shamed ever to be from Quebec

There are many things that make me shamed at times to be from America       believe it my friend

Quebecois are an unbelievably helpful people there is no doubt about it!!

Sorry to hear about the accident glad the girlfriend is still with us for sure and gets well soon!

  3. Heads up on the 93 from Scierie 54 to LaDore on 93

Last week they were bulldozing the most beautiful trail not far from the Scierie 54.

Right down to dirt for a good stretch not sure how far they were going to tear it up but it was sad to see.

    Be aware is all

  4. Yes sir Groomer, Timing is everything.

Keep on truckin with your rig Groomer those trails won't last forever for sure. Time is slipping away, March is here Tuesday.

Thanks for all your hard work and lost sleep. But I know you love it. Thank You!!!!

  5. So tell me

this is for you people who insist on riding right up the middle

Do you drive your car straddling the double yellow line?

No cause you would crash and die.

So why is it ok on a sled?

Stay on the right its better for both of us.

    Hello

if you can't keep it on the right you need to learn how to ride.

Don't kill me please thank you.

I just need one side of the trail

    Yes it has 2 sides.

If the groomer fits then 2 sleds can pass each other safely.

    Think about it

  6. Too many tour groups in Feb for Gaspe that is the problem

Sorry always doo but sounded like you were whining

Anyone who rides here enough knows this is as good as it gets

You are crazy though if you think NY trails would be better

The worst trails in Quebec put NY to shame any day.

And yes I have seen most of the trails in NY and got no time for that noise.

    Large guided groups bad.

Quebec is the top of the food chain for snowmobiling. (touring)

If you are a day rider Vermont or NY is just fine

If you give up coming its you who will miss out on the best trail system in the world.

Sorry if I was harsh with you been a doo, but the NY trail comment made me do it.

NY trails better then Quebec is a pipe dream.

  7. Shawinigan thru lac edward to Dolbeau.

Dolbeau back over the top of the lake to the saw mill on 93 for gas then back to Dolbeau

Dolbeau to Escoumins via pel chat trail

    Escoumins to Baie St Paul

    Baie St Paul to Shawinigan.

    1200 miles all good

Plotting the next as we speak

    Snow on the way

    Lets hope the forecast holds

  8. Yes i met them real nice folks for sure.

Seems for sure not many care about where they stop yeah that is for sure another bunch of rocket scientists.

I usually lose my right side mirror to the branches at least 3 times a year.

Its all good though, there is a right lane on the trail all smooth just for me cause most others don't use the right at all.

I live on the right and if i can not keep it there i would not be riding. This goes for corners too everyone so wake up.

  9. It is real scary out there.

I passed over 200 snowmobiles today on the TQ 3 from Baie St Paul to Shawinigan. No joke.

Maybe 50 of them were on their side. What is it with riding the middle? Hello stay on your side, its simple. I

I know for many this is impossible but to ride the middle its crazy. Bullshit

    Clueless morons.

  10. Rode the 373 from st felicien to 83 to 355 and thru st joseph de mekinac to st tite then home to mont carmel 252 miles saturday

All great pipeline a little ripped up but it was a big Valentines weekend and lots of sleds on the trails.

We got 12" new snow since then. Rode local today they just started grooming the new stuff. A little messy in spots.

Warmup thurs and friday calling for plus 7c in shawinigan. We will survive a short warm up for sure.

  11. Hi jack and sandy,

I have been staying at kanawata for years i think it is a great stop not to be missed.

    Worth the effort. For sure.

Just my 2cents. Call ahead for sure.

Its a bummer for the "new 73" was hoping for better. Have not ridden it but not sure i want to hearing the stories.

Go to kanawata from mattawin the trail is much more reliable.

Start in shawinigan good safe parking safari or auberge governor with resto pub 57 right next door(not to be missed)

Easy ride to kanawata and off to the west you go.

    Don
