1.
I spoke to the new owner of the Tamarac today. She is currently in Montreal but will be at the tamarac on the 26th and will call me with conditions. I hope to be up their / Abitibi area near that time frame.
New owner for Tamarac?

    Martin has sold?

  2. Some real snow now on the ground here in Shawinigan. Had around 2-3"inches now got a solid 8" more.

Could not resist the ride took out the xc 800 only rode a short bit. Was fun to be on the 2 smoke.

Forecast says cold and more snow end of week this could all change for sure but not looking bad right now.

  3. Like has been already said alot of the rentals have been ridden hard and put away wet.(real junkers) almost dangerous. Some rental places do much more maintenance then others. There is nothing like a machine set up for you. Safe and familiar. Money wise for sure for just one trip a year its crazy to have your own sleds and trailer.I had some experiences with real bad rentals and others that were just fine.

  4. I love it when a newbie goes to pee and steps off trail and is up to their waist in snow.

Usually they only do it once. They learn real quick.

    Funny though.

But i have been grounded a few times from monster storms.

There is no going anywhere till our buddy Groomer comes by.

    Without his drag

    just to open the trail.

There is such a thing as too much snow.

  5. They say it will be online early in the season.(the trail map) updated to represent closures and such.

Still could be settled time will tell.

I say there is enough land most places to establish new routes with no farmers involved.

Time to end this once and for all.

They will have to go and really protest if they have no trails to bargain with.

They are killing their own towns and cities the way i see it.

A lot of folks will be hurting without trails.

  6. Farmers union (UPA) receives $630 million a year from the gov't for the members of the union (farmers)This was agreed upon in november 2009.(not sure how long the agreement was for though?) Now Quebec Gov't has cut $80 million dollars from this $630 million agreed to.25% cut and farmers are pissed. Is an $80 million dollar problem.Got this from the UPA web site. Link from french forum CMIQ.

  7. No agreement reached between the UPA (farmers union) and the minister of agriculture.

We are stuck in the middle.

They are still very far from agreement it seems. Very very far. Not sounding good.

Gov't not giving in at all. It seems.

  8. Seems like a guy from Montreal 64 years old.

    Riding trail in St. michel-des-saints,

Was riding 2 up on 4 to six inches of snow.

Missed the curve and plunged into the lake.10 km west of st michel-des-saints Lake Anicet.

Passenger able to get out of water.

Went for help took one hour to reach a house to call for help.

Police responded and hours later found sled in lake.

    Driver still missing

They suspect drinking was involved in the accident.

  9. Yes I have understood riding the ski hill is fine as long as they have not opened yet for the season.

Riding on the deck of the lodge I do not believe is what should be going on.

    But hey who am I?

You can't fix stupid the world if full of them and some ride sleds(and post it on you tube) that's rocket science there.
