  1. hHi J-G We just got about 1 ' in total over last 2 days here. Hopefully you will soon get some there. Our snow is the light fluffy stuff but will help cover the Ice that is on our trails here. We need some mild weather for it to be packable and groomable though. We ended up with mainly Bare ground and some icey spots here on South Shore of NS after that recent rain/meltdown. Hope to meet up with you in a couple of weeks time. Graham
  2. Amazing in a very bad way. Oh Well gonna have to work next week after all.So much fr sledding vacation! We are rebooking for week of Feb 20 I guess. Hopefully things will be back to whatever normal is by then. J-G we will eventually meet. Northern NB took a hard hit from this storm as well and trails closed there. Here on South Shore(Bridgewater area) of NS we have all bare ground.+ 10 today and very heavy rain and winds gusting 90 kph. Guess I will be putting some wood in the basement now that the snow is off the pile. I would much rather be in QC on my sled though. As I have always said "Mother Nature can be a fickle Bitch at times" This is one of them.
  3. Me too. If you see a Black TZ1 turbo and a Black Apex Gt it will be us. Hope there is still snow to ride on. +5 and rain here on South Shore of NS now.
  4. Thanks Much. I had looked this way over on the trail map. It always helps to get some info though from those that have been there before. Is this a 1/2 decent days run? We will be going fr Amqui Select hotel to the Republic/Quality Inn in Edmunston.Next day heading out via Moose Valley so likely will go the long way round. I think TQ 85 comes out beside the Quality Inn.Or runs close by (NB 12 in NB) Been going to Northern NB for years but just starting to travel QC for some new scenery. Thanks Again. Graham
  5. Hi Jean-Guy I was just wondering what route would be best to take from Amqui on . We will be heading from Amqui to Edmunston the Friday of our trip. I have never been past the Albertville club . Hope the mild weather doesn't wreck the trails you have worked so hard on. A bit of ice pellets mixed with rain normally wouldn't be an issue but with low snow conditions basically everywhere this year it could do some damage I suspect.
  6. Thanks for the pics. It appears we are a go for your area first week in Feb. I have not been any further that the Albertville club.( ran out of snow last March) We plan to stay on tq 5 till Amqui area first night( coming from Point La Croix). Do some local running that afternoon and eve after dropping the saddle bags. Then head out probably 587 to 579 and such ending up on 569 to Deglais and into Edmunston for the next night.( any suggestions would be appreciated as all new area to me past Albertville) Run down through Moose Valley and area in NB and then back to Campbellton for Sat night. Thanks for the great pics. Hopefully we can sometime meet . Graham
  7. Thanks so much! Hopefully some snow btwn now and early Feb. Otherwise I guess we will be staying in Northern NB that week. I hate having only limited speaking ( and no writing ) abilties in French. My fault I guess when younger.... You are a great help. Graham
  8. Hey J-G Federation site shows a snow storm there today and warns of the groomers being out. Federatrion site shows Yellow/green for all trails through your area. Hope this is true !! Are the recent pictures you posted of the ungroomed and groomed trails old ones or new ? Still hoping we will get your way first week of Feb. We are all doing snow dance here but just getting cold weather and little snow. Hopefully you are out grooming!
  9. Thanks Jean-guy. Kind of what I expected but hoped not to see. Hopefully we will get some snow soon. Blizzard like conditions here this morning.-12 and snowing/blowing hard. Hopefully enough will stick so some grooming can take place around here . Another weird winter. One plus is once snow does fall there will be a good solid base underneath. Graham
  10. Hi Jean-Guy We are supposed to be making a loop through your way Feb 7 . Are the trails passable? We are booked to run fr Campbellton to Amqui Feb 7 . Amqui to Edmunston Feb 8 and fr Edmunston to Campbellton Feb 9. We have an 8 hour trailer ride fr NS to get to Campbellton.' It is difficult to get any accutrate info on the Federation site. It says all trails are green. None closed. We tried this loop the second week of March last year. We all know of the melt then. Ran out of snow in Albertville and ended up going back to Campbellton that night. Thanks for the help. Graham
  11. lol Gotta be careful of what you say on the World Wide Web!!!!! Could be quite a blow out at the Camp!! Mucho people!! Many lurk here and occasionally post ( me for example). Great country and I even recognize some areas without snow on them. JG does a great job keeping us up to date during winter monthes and his pics are always a treat to look at all year long. I especially like when he throws a few teazers ( snow pics) in during the Summer. I had no idea this site even existed till last year when I was looking for some trail info. Will be back through this year once the snow comes . Last year we ran out of snow too early with that freak thaw. Will try it earlier this year . Keep the pics and info coming JG and everyone else. EXT
  12. I don't see a fishing rod on your Buggy? Lakes seem still froze up in your pics but rivers look clear. Good Trout fishing early around there? I know you are in Salmon area during season based on your earlier pics. Thanks keep the pics coming
  13. Jean-Guy I see my carbide tracks in the last 2 pictures of this post.March 22 12 there was a bit more snow.( not much though) LOL!! We ran into this road as well as a few others that had been plowed that day. At the end of the dirt road it meets a sand sealed road.I missed where the trail went down over a field to the right. At the end of the dirt road it "looked like" the trail went right across and continued down along the left side of the road. I launched up and over the snow bank into 4 feet of unpacked quicksand snow. 30 min later we got dug out and found the trail again. Should have had our 4 wheelers I guess LOL. We will be back to this gorgeous area next year when the snow returns and the trail signs are still up LOL!!! Thanks for the helpful posts about the area.Too bad the Sledding season was cut short by the early warm weather. EXT
  14. These fields have more snow on them now than when I went across them March 22 12 . LOL We made it in to Albertville club at supper time via 587. Neat to see a white snake running across field with mud on both sides of you LOL. Groomer track was packed down and still passable then. I wouldn't have wanted to slip off the side into the mud though!!!!!
  15. Hi Groomer We were able to get rooms at the Selectotel in Amqui. Last 2 rooms. Must be busy up there this week . Other hotel is booked solid. Hopefully this melt won't hurt things too bad. We are coming in from Campbelton and dropping the saddle bags and hoping to make a loop up around Lac Matapedia and are to fill in the afternoon. Friday are planning on leaving to Edmunston via 587,579,5,548,569onto 85 into Edmunston. Our first time making a loop in Que. Others have told us it is great. Long trailer tow fr South Shore NS though. Bare grond around here for most of the winter. We were not able to run here at all. Lowest mileage year yet for me . We put 6-700 miles on in NB in February but that was it.Weird winter here. No cold like normal and no snow.Rained here when others got snow. Mother Nature can be a fickle bitch as we all know LOL. What club are you out of? May try and look you up on Thurs next week.
  16. Hi Groomer Trails look great for this time of year. We are trying to locate a room for March 22 in the Amqui area. So far both hotels shown on the trail sight are full. Any others in that area that you could recommend that are easily reachable via Sled? Cottage or hotel as long as warm and clean. Thanks EXT (Graham)
  17. Hi Linda Just noticed you are heading to same area we are sledding next week . Saw your post . If you have a chance drop me an email on conditions around Amqui after your Tues ride. We are trailering to Campbelton Wed( Mar 21 ) and planning to head to Amqui . Drop the saddle bags at hotel and then ride around locally for rest of day. On Thurs are planning on heading to Edmunston NB via 587,5,548,546,and onto 85 twds Edmunston. First time making that loop and from what I hear snow conditions continue to be good in the Mountains. Gonna be pretty mild from now till Wed though. Downtown Rimouski is a no go. Hotel R say snow has melted in town. Thanks Graham gcampbell@marshadj.com
  18. Was this on the # 5 or 587? Never been through there and booked this trip a few monthes ago. Not sure if we should go next week or just trailer into Northern NB and run around there for a couple of days btwn Bathurst and Moose Valley areas.
  19. Any updates? We are supposed to leave Campbellton NB and go to Rimouski next Wed( stay at Hotel Rimuski o/n). Then on to RDL and down to Edmunston that day.We were going to travel 5 all around. Never been that far into Que before so all is new. Thanks
