  4. hi blizzman !! thanks !! always a pleasure to help!! well ,your question is a 100.00$$ one !!! have nt seen pics with snow of the mont valins lately on the french forum.i guess will have to wait and be patient for a while. checked the long term forecast for the next 14 days for the rimouski area.should have snow around november 19 th.without being negative , i don t believe much in the long term forecast.but anything can happen. was thinking about that earlier this week.20 years ago ,right on this weeek end ,winter started for good here.storm started on the friday and ended up on the monday morning .3 ' of snow ,then a few days later ,another foot. pics taken on dec 7 th.many hundred trees down. third pic ,i was riding from 4 to 6 ' over the road.so many trees down.i was looking at the first pic, back in 77 ,went shoveling the camp with 2 of my brothers.at the lowest point of the roof ,there was 7 ' of snow to shovel !!so ,don t worry about the weight of the sled on the roof !!!ha ! ha !! frost here for the 4 th morning in a row and sunny . groomer !!!
  5. another 70 miles of riding with my 4 wheelers this afternoon.sorry if they looks alike, effect of the sun is a bit different on each pics........i think ?????? smclelan ,the road on the right ,it s about 2.5 miles up the ''stump '',on the way up to the lake.the fields on the left ,it s where the machine was parked ,first time we met ,outside town. groomer !!!
  6. looks less dirty with the snow .last april 5 th.went there to remove the signage. tq5/tlr......tlr for truck logging road.roughly 1 mile further east from where we met . groomer !!!
  7. went down to the st fidele cb this afternoon.looks like they added extra room to put the firewoods.don t think it was there last winter.then went to ride somewhere else.close to 80 miles .forgot to check. coldsmoke : pics of the sunset, right in the field a few hundred feet behind , from where we had met the second time. groomer !!!
  8. hi traiblazer !! not sure if it was in 97 or 98 ,but i was there at the méchoui .my brother in law had leased the faribault camp with one of his friend from cross point .do you remember that guy who had fell in the brook with his sled ????ha !!ha !! faribault area was a nice place to ride off the trail.last time i went there, must be in april 98.took a huge risk going there alone .started from the 28 miles on the truck logging road using ''back roads '' only to go there.then landed roughly 10 miles from mount logan.no traffic at all ,it was about time to turn around before being in troubles. i wish i could go back with my 4 wheelers ,but can t even ride on the truck logging road crossing the duniere reserve. groomer !!!
  9. hi timbo !! ya !!! just checked a few pics from last year around nov 11th,ground was frosted here ,but only with a few flerries. 2 mornings in a row with frost ,around -3c.we still need to be patient a bit !! jean-guy
  10. http://www.villagegrandenaturechic-chocs.com/?lang=en just to add to your post mike !! groomer !!
  11. hi brdgbldr !! thanks for the great words !!i was almost shy to read your post!! first of all , i slowed down a bit to read posts on the french forum(f f).why ?? because there s a few too many threads and posts.those on the f f who don t keep themselves up to date they start their own thread.thats a lot of posts to read. for now mont valins will be open .lanaudiere-outaouais-gaspesie area will be open.last week i think ,minister of agriculture was in rdl and he said that bsl area will be open.but according to some posters on the f f ,some of them were sceptical???if i remember well ,president of the club in rimouski or someone else, said they are going to wait til early december before making a '' move '' one poster said that he had seen signages in some fields south of rimouski. i read somewhere that the fcmq asked all the clubs to re-route their trails to avoid farmer's lands. i must check again ,sorry, i have a memory blank ,but mauricie area should be / will be open.saw a reportage about that on tv. last night i think ,upa (farmers union ) asked the farmers to close their lands all over pq.but this is only ( imo ) to ''shake '' the goverment. president of my club is a farmers and it ll be no problems to use his lands. forgot ,sherbrooke area will be open.north shore will be open too. i can t remember everything, i read waaaaaaaaaaay too many posts. hope i did nt make a mistake and hope this will help you a bit !! groomer !!!

Quelque 1000 emplois dépendent de cette industrie the season of the mauricie and centre du quebec area will be saved for 10/11.they are going to use public (crown )and corporative land for their trails.they are going to install new signage ,etc . snowmobiling in those 2 areas generate 75 million$$$ and 1000 jobs. forgot to mention ,on the video .president of the club in matane said that 50 % of their trails will be rideable and they are looking for alternative roads to connect with other clubs. saguenay bill ,only a guess ,most of them must be dairy farms, at least for a good pourcentage. groomer !!!
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBe9pIDOcng&feature=player_embedded#! sorry ,the video is in french. im doing my best to translate. according to that wowan, goverment cut 25% of the bugdget for the farmers.down to 650$$ million loss of 80 $$ million for the farmers.looks like the goverment wants to make a clean up .they want to get rid of 25 % of the smallest farmers and some big ones too.those who are not much productive . some farmers are going to lose from 4 to 15,ooo.oo $$ and they need that money badly . mid range ,don t be shy to add your comment ,your english is better than mine . groomer !!!
  23. thanks for the translation gutz !! back in the 70's and 80 's ,there was a huge logging camp about 20 miles west from the faribault.it has been owned by the c.i.p-avenor -bowater ,etc.way bigger than the one near la cache . we called that place ''the 46 ''. 46 miles east from town.used to go there often with my dirt bike just to look at the heavy machinery working. the office of the c.i.p (canadian internationl paper ) was in my street .still remember when those huge tree harvesters arrived in my street back in the 70's. groomer !!!
