  2. Same here . No panic. We will be on trails by Thurs.

If we have to hit a few drifts so be it!

    At least no ice LOL.

I expect locals as well as groomers will be hot and heavy to hit trails.

By end of week should be pretty good.

The trails are closed here.Grooming tomorrow. Then another storm on wed-thur.I dug a guy out at mont-louis 50 yards from the road on the # 5..saw him from the car,.Made 20$..He insisted on it..Call the local clubs before you venture on the trails..The locals are out.Check the pic on gaspesie mountains. jack

  3. OK !!! I'm really Jealous Now...... looks Awsome .... :drinks: Thanks Jack ....

And thank you to the trail rider who gave me 20$ for getting him dug out.Good thing I stopped ,he was 78 years old...He was going on the # 5 from mont-louis..lol..He was stuck 50 yards from the road.On flat land.Saw him from the road when I was driving from my buddys place. You guys have to realize we dig guys out all the time..for free..He told me to buy a coke.Just glad he made it out. There were 6-7 sleds that made it to mont-louis.Guys the trails are closed here. The guys are not going out till the morning. Then we are getting more snow on weds-thurs.Please do not ride the trails. You will get stuck.Theres tooo much snow for anything other than long tracks with paddles.Shall post more pics as soon as we get a chance to ride without snow, wind.Crazysnow here..lol..why arnt you..Video up on my site tonight,. jack

  4. Yahooo its here..The pow pow..We got like 1 foot at sea level and looks like close to 3 feet in mountains..here is a pic from a short ride before breackfast...jack

  5. Slow down people..The trails are going to be closed.I rode up to a camp in back here and there was 1.5 feet of pow at 1400 at 7pm..We also rode through some drifts 4-6 feet. And when we came back 15 mins later there was another 3 foot drift where we went through..Pay attention to the trail site.Oh and by the way..another 25cm for the north shore this week...Im sure they will be closed here tomorow and probably for a few days.I will post the pics tomorow..But they are calling for 20cm more tomorrow..might be too snowy. jack

We also saw 6 snow slides on the side of the road.Nothing big but its a warning.!!

  6. Went for a little ride to a camp up the road and never made it..Snowing to hard .We rode to 1400 and there was 1.5 feet of pow pow. There is close to a foot at sea level..Pretty sure the trails will close..We saw some drifts 4-6 feet already..jack

we also saw 6 snow slides on the side of the road. This is a warning for more to come.Even Gaspesie Avalanche is talking about snow slides and avalanches from all this wind and snow..

  7. When I was 18 we were lucky just to keep the sleds running never mind move in anything over 6" of powder. Our group ranges in age from 18 to 53, not one of us is afraid to take on anything and work together to get thru anything, we call it snowmobiling when things get interesting should I say

Spoken like a true mountainrider..Glad to hear that you guys are so helpful..Does this mean you want me to bring my Yammie instead of my rmk. With gas it weighs 825lbs..throw some snow in the track ..lol..and you can top 1000 lbs..14 psi if you guys want to try it.Not good for trees.

we have 5+cm so far and its still snowing..No wind but that will change.Safe driving..jack

  8. Jack

Get ready, I am with the group coming in wed and we got an "ATTITUDE"

Good..cause do you remember when you were 18..imagine if you had a mountain sled..lol..well my 18 year old is here cause he wanted to ride with you guys. Now he has attitude..And he compaires himself to an old man like me..lol..He still thinks its strenth over skill..kids.See you guys in the storm .Shall put some pics up tomorrow ..jack

  9. We bought 4 from Mont-sainte-Pierre Ymmie dealer. The club doesnt even have close to 50 members. No one rides the trail.Like some people you and I know. They think since they only just do a few ks here and there on them. They dont need a pass.Yes the skandics too. They are missing the point.Locals think like that too.Cops are just too far between. They are down in the south. We have wardens to make sure your not in the park.Usually see one every couple of rides. They check our tracks often to see if we go into the parks. These guys carry guns.Never seen a cop on the trails or cop sleds anywhere in my area.Too few of them for sure. jack

  10. I was going to ride Ontario this weekend with my wife. But sorry Linda..There is 50+ cm I hope calling my name at the Sled Den..But that could change.Got to be in Gaspesie for a group on Weds. But will be there if it snows..lol. Thanks for the tip for the passe on the net. Will do it if we dont get the snow in Gaspesie. So I just might see you.Depends on mother nature..Jack

  11. Hi groomer..hope your ready cause its commin..I have a question. What happens when you have a season like this one with the fees for the trails.Where we are there is not more than 25 members in the club..What happens when they run out of money for diesel fuel for the cat..Where does more fuel come from if the club has not enough members.Do you guys pass the buck to another club..or just drink it..lol..just kidding...Just curious how it works....jack

  12. Its not just the south. We from sainte-anne-des-monts to mont-louis have gotten allot of snow from snow squalls this year.So its total coverage and no hockey ice on the trails.2-3 feet pow pow ( depending where the wind blew it ) in the mountains at 2500.There are spots on the trail that are hard and a little icy, but its just hard snow.Murdochville is suffering with ice..They need snow. The trails got water and then it froze. They are getting some snow today but dont know if its enough to make it very safe on some places near Murdochville. All my pics are from the areas I have told you.My site has pics of conditions and reports...

Mattan is all ice.I ride for a Polaris dealer there and hes crying for snow.Hes commin to my place to ride this monday for 2 days ..Why not just start where the snow is..Sainte-anne-des-monts and down..Pick somewhere down here and then you know you have snow. 2-3 Hours more in the truck and you KNOW you will have snow. What is there really to see untill you get to S.A.D.M.

If you finish your loop early then ride some logging roads and see the backcountry of Gaspesie..You should see what it looks like from 3800 from a sled..

You are making the best loop for veiws in the Gaspesie.Have fun... jack

  13. Thats right..There is now secure parking at the Sled Den for your tow rigs.To do the gaspe tour..My neighbour will keep the parking cleared and also your rig. There is a BIG SNOW BANK now but when theres no snow its a 4 foot ditch.Only one place to drive in there. So this year my truck will be the gate. But I shall put a steel one in the spring. This will cost you 50 $ for the week...If you stay for a total of 2 nights or more at the sled, its free..Yes stay when you arrive and then the night before you leave counts.Even if you stay somewhere else cause were full you may still secure your rig at the Sled Den for 50 $...hope this helps some of you to keep commin to where the snow is.... jack

  14. Your right rmk.He tried to turn but it didnt so instead of letting go of the gas and stand on the side to let the sled surf to the right. There was no need to give gas and set it up. He sat and tried to turn still...too funny...I spent 9 hours in my truck, and then in the yard for an hour.Telling him how to stand and how to set the sled up,work the gas to turn etc.But like all guys that know how to ride sleds..He was listining through his big balls..lol.And hes a friend for 30 years..You think he would listin..When he went in front of me..He trail rode the sled the hole time..lol...I told him to practice last year on a crossfire..you think he did..nope hes like anyone else who comes with a Mountain sled for the first time. (.People..Its not the sled..I can ride my wifes attak in pow pow but have to beat the crap out of it cause its a 136 with 1.5 lug on it .)..I was wondering when he was going to crash..lol..When you ride off trail or in the mountains..Leave your balls at home if your a newbie..Newbie means you know nothing..You are a beginner..He has a new attitude though..lol..

Time to be humbled or realize you are again a beginner...is not when your sled is down a cliff or you hit a tree..I have seen a guy hang from a branch after going off the side.We got the sled out.Heres a pic from it.3 hours to get it.LuckY it stopped 40 yards down the cliff..Some small trees caught it.Missed some big trees.Would have never seen that sled again if it had gone all the way down.. Jack
