  1. Thats the bridge I went over the bars on . Fortunately I flew lft onto the guide wire rather than right over the rail.......................eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. Two for two in our group have had driveshaft failure..................awesome sled otherwise and I'm sure they will have a fix for it. My riding buddy, who is also a long time Doo dealer, says they are certainly aware of the issues and will address them but only as they are reported. Alot of guys will not have the shaft problems because they won't reach the miles or ride gently. Great sled and on my short list of prospects for next year. But driveshaft failure is for real...............
  3. I think the site is better like this Rob. Reminds me of the old days at HCS when you could actually acquire useful knowledge. I know it doesn't pay the bills when it's this slow but you're not in it for the money...........right. Some of the other sites are turning into dangerous place, literally for some of the members. This site is what I come to the internet for. Good info, GPS assets, good people and some great posts. It will grow on it's own and I think this is one of the most respectable joints around. All the good serious riders have found their way here while some of the spin off sites are spillin over with toxic content. $.02
  4. If you call a driveshaft failing miles from nowhere.............................well. you get the point.
  5. Im in....................
  6. Nice, sounds like a good trip. any casualties or arrests?
  7. http://www.fcmq.qc.ca/english/pages.asp?id=133 This map is interactive and you can click on the trail to see how far it is between points. Kind of quirky and takes a long time to load but pretty accurate.
  8. Try this link. You can convert from any format to GPX. http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/
  9. Thanks for the updates..............looks like Wednesday to Sunday right now.
  10. Groomer, are those pictures from today, after the rain or from the arhives. Trails look great. Some new fluff and you are in business.
  11. RWS, thanks for the new map, it looks awesome. I also loaded the waypoints Favcat added. What do you set your User Waypoint setting at to help declutter the map? Can't wait to try this setup out next week.
  12. RWS............I had just downloaded your other map without numbers a couple days ago. How would I replace that one with this............I need the GPS for dummies procedure. I have a 60 cs.
  13. Rob, Looks like the GPS pin is a winner. Thanks again.............................We'll never be lost again......hehehehehehehe
  14. Looking better huh? Stryk, Rob, can you ride from Red Roof still? Would rather ride than drive. We're coming Wed. Hope to see yahs.
  15. Ok, Kinda what i thought. Thanks for the tip
  16. RWS, Glad you made it over. Welcome in. Question, I loaded your previous Qc map in my 60cs. How can I load your new one and will it delete the base map?
  17. Hey Rube, I have a complete QC trail map downloaded to my 60cs, can I overlay your waypoints onto the map or how would be the best way to incorporate both?
  18. I downloaded that map and it looks perfect. It lays over your base map and doesn't erase the area because it has clear background. I asked him if it was ok to link to it haven't heard back. Very complete and accurate from what I can see and he has been doing maps for other areas for a while and everyone who uses them seems to praise his work so it should be ok.
  19. We were north of the ice during that storm............didn't really think anything of it till we drove through souther Quebec and the power line towers were down everywhere. We had snow and lots of it. I think we were probably up in St Raymond or St Jean.
  20. http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=googleearth These are a couple that have alot of function. Can convert from anything to anything and visualize on maps including flyovers on Google Earth
  21. They can be converted in most cases I believe, I dont know Robs policy on links but if you want I have a site that converts and visualizes if you need it.
  22. Cool, that's about the minimum range there though. Cant figure why they skimmped on the tank size.
  23. How was the range on the Nytro n your group? Love those trails......my favorite place on earth.
  24. A rube, thanks for the concise summary. I think you are probably right about the time investment required. Money better spent on maps probably. Maybe a more useful subject would be how to use common features of the units themselves. I find the manual on the 60 csx fairly useless beyond the most very basic tasks. I sat in the lobby of Balmoral in Thetford Mines figuring out how to back track with navigation and I was amazed how well it worked. Maybe you could coach us through some of the most useful features.....................
