Ryan450r
Hello all. I've been reading the forums a bit lately but this is my first post. I'm planning to head to Mt Valin area later this week to try and find some good snow for off-trail riding. Can anyone share their thoughts on snow amount and snow quality in that area? We are considering staying in Chicoutimi area or at Passion.
revct1
Welcome aboard Ryan. We were there last week and like the posts say, there is plenty of good riding in the LSJ area. The forecast is for one warm day tomorrow but it shouldn't hurt the trails. It will turn cold and the clubs will be out grooming. If you are looking for off trail, the Passion or any place on Mont Valin would get you closer to where you are allowed off trail. Remember that you can't go off trail wherever the snow looks good. The landowners only grant permission to ride on the trails. My understanding is the Zec areas are OK for off trail. This is a thread from 2011 but it will give you some info for off trail riding. http://www.quebecrider.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1982&hl="off trail" Happy riding. Ryan450r
Thanks for the post. The link to the other thread is a big help too! My buddies got scared of the possible rain mixed in today so they have cancelled. Hoping to make it up next weekend.
