  1. Perce yes if the weather is clear. We leave from Rdl . depending on weather we go clockwise or counter clockwise. The north shore is spectacular. Want to be there with clear skies if possible. have been to the gaspe at least 8 times now and decide on the fly which is why we go end of season
  2. That is my preferred loop x2 except in the end of March when everyone is gone.!
  3. Your dad was lucky to live to 95. My sister in laws twin sister just passed away this week at the age of 60. Had a small lesion removed from her thumb which turned out to be cancerous, Did MRI's and cat scans and found cancer through her whole body, stage 4. No symptoms, 8 weeks later gone. Life is short, enjoy life while you can! To say my sister in law is devastated is an understatement. They where in separable
  4. Why trailer all the way to Matane? Start in RDL. 6 days is plenty from there
  5. Little bastards is an understatement. Try staying on the same floor as them. You'd rather ride to the next town! Unless you like a hundred kids swinging hockey sticks in the hallways til midnight, never seen anything so crazy
  6. Yep Don't think there is a Doo dealer I haven't visited in all of QC. Even with new sleds this year I will be amazed if we can complete the week without a visit. Pretty sure it's never happened LOL!
  7. Never make reservations in advance either, never works out. Headed up end of next week for 9 days. Don't know which direction we're going yet as usual. Generally deceide on the way up. usually book the nights lodging at lunchtime. Unless a popular small outfitter.
  8. Sorry to hear that JG, to live to 95 is a great achievement. He lived a great life
  9. X2 we stayed there last March upstairs. Great food and very accommodating
  10. We could give out an annual end of season QR Dumbass of the season trophy! May need more then one trophy though?
  11. Really hate to see this also, but i also think that a lot of riders have no idea what to do in that situation or that they can get exhausted that quickly and die. Tips and education would go along way.
  12. Stayed there for a night last year. Other then the view not impressed. Plus the trail in was 3ft moguls. There not giving the club enough money to groom to there door more then once or twice a month.
  13. Some Dead tunes playing, may need something stronger then glue? At least I'm enjoying the ride!
  14. One of the fixes on Dootalk is a thick bead of clear silicone around the entire perimeter of the shield. That would probably look wonderful! Maybe a couple colored beads set into it to dress it up?
  15. Just bought a new Modular 3. My old Mod2 worked great for 6 Years never fogged or iced up even in -30 temps and super warm. Enough shit to go wrong and break on a bag trip, don't need another thing to add to the list. Plus a third of the price!
  16. That's what i thought, So what happens on a saddlebag trip and your your helmet doesn't work and its -25 in the morning out in the bush? Helmet might be great if looping out of a hotel but how far could you go without power in the bush?
  17. Does that helmet have to be plugged in to work?
  18. Yep No side rails either, or sled tracks. Scary sheet!
  19. We have ridden from Old Forge to Valley field in QC on the St Lawrence about 12 years ago. Believe it was about 285 miles left at 8am crossed the border around 5pm after a long search for the crossing. We had to go over a long train trestle missing a lot of boards about 70ft in the air. Had a 350lb buddy that wasn't going over. We all did and lured him over finally. Railbed was great up and 175 miles of moguls on the return. Never again!
  20. If you rode 458 miles in one day in NY, which I find hard to believe, you and your sled would be kaput for a week!
  21. Pre studded the way to go. No more studs for me either, to many issues. For Quebec riding its really all you need. Thanks for the daily reports, enjoy the reading!
  22. I usually keep a couple jelly donuts in the heated tank bag for just such an occasion. works wonders!
  23. Always sounds good on paper. Hopefully it happens
