  1. Respectfully your talking about two different issues. Staying off lands your not supposed to be on and also tearing up the trails. If you think your ever going to tell all the locals north in Quebec what track lug or length he can use to get around up there it won’t go. It’s not paddle tracks tearing up the trails and I see more shorter tracks going off trail as long tracks just look for the holes where they were stuck. It’s like guns. It’s not the gun causing the problem it’s the guy holding it!!!! I don’t feel you can blame a class of sleds just the drivers!!

  2. Snappy your missing the point here..  Anyone can go off trail on land and disregard landowners wishes it’s not just paddle tracks!!! It’s the guys driving the sleds. Any sled. Trail distruction is much worse by guys with lots of studs and big horsepower spinning constantly pileing mounds of snow up in the trails than any paddle track can ever do. Up north Parant and that area (remote areas)many of the locals have paddle tracks so they can get around its their means of transportation you going to penalize all those locals. How do you think that will go over??? It’s a common sense thing.  The guys causing the problems are the same guys riding way to fast blowing corners spinning their tracks at every opportunity. It’s not paddle tracks. 

  3. I agree with  rr people need to be more respectful to the landowners before this gets any worse. But to ban paddle tracks makes no sense at all. I’ve seen young guys with heavy thumbs and  heavily studded tracks do more damage to the trails than a paddle track ever could. Also the guys bumping off and back onto the trails every time they can destroys the trails but that’s two different topics. Respecting landowners and how guys treat the trails. Guys that ride to fast in my opinion from what I’ve seen take every opportunity to spin their tracks in every corner that’s does a lot of damage every pile they push up makes a big bump. Let’s work on educating the riders not what they are riding!!!

Well RR it looks like you guys found where the snow is that was missing from the coast lol.  I would  bet that you burned a bit more gas today if it was that deep all the way.  How far to the next stop tomorrow??  I didn't find the clip of you guys going back up that hill??? Hopefully you had a route around it.  How do the Freerides do in the deep like that compared to the Expeditions??All Freerides 154??  Great trip report really appreciate all your efforts to keep us all involved from a distance..

  5. Hi RR how did the paddle tracks do on that icy stuff any heating problems or hyfax troubles?? Scratchers deployed?? Glad everything is going so good so far please let us know how the 1200 did at the Dr's    Diagnosis?? Keep the posts coming we certainly enjoy them.

    RR just throwing out a thought here. I had a similar issue on my Last Pro Climb haunted me for three days from St Ann Du Lock to the Gouin Res.  Ran great till it got warm then cut out backfired fell on its face till after really hot it would quit. Let it cool off and srart all over again. Three days of that😡😡😡.  Finally realized when it quit completely the fuel pump wasn't running. Got some wire from an outfitter ran a clean wire around the harness from the battery to the pump ran like a top the rest of the trip got me home.  Tore it apart at home found a wire had rested against the bracket from the can every time that bracket got hot it melted the insulation on the fuel pump wire and shorted it out.  When it cooled down insulation got solid again and protected the wire. Talk about a gremlin.  It was a new sled so all warranty .  Wireing harness and whole top of the engine was shot from starving for fuel. Check the harness for rubbing. Just a thought good luck 

  7. RR whats the plan for fixing the 1200 any BRP service up there??? I was hoping you guys were far enough north to escape the warm weather we have been cursed with down here.  Hope it will get back to winter for you all soon.  Almost sounding like maybe a computer issue??? They can be extremely hard to find for sure.  Best of luck with it bummer having troubles but I guess it adds to the adventure.  Enjoy your afternoon off.  The original plan was for Cartwright tonight ??? Best of luck and thx for the reports.

  8. Hi RR did the 1200 come into it??? Looks like its still moving on its own.  That's the last sled you would want to tow!!!! I give you guys a lot of credit for a well executed adventure.  I'm sure wishing I were there.  I definitely have this trip on the radar.  How has your gas situation worked out ?? Is an extra 10 gallons per sled getting you from point to point on the long days??? Watching with envy  Enjoy

  9. We hit a really bad section of trail last week in the Gaspe. Lower section of the 597 in the interior.  There's a big canyon in the lower portion from the time we started down they were three feet high three feet apart the whole way.  When we got almost to the top on the other side there was a drag frozen in the middle of the trail.  Might be where the Perce groomer burned up not sure but that section definitely hadn't seen a groomer in a very long time. What we refer to as vintage tug hill.  Enjoy

  10. RR Looks like all is good so far.  I'm watching wishing I were there.  Did you guys hit some low snow areas or was it just wind blown?? Keep up the great reports as communications allow.  Hope the weather stays on your side.  Last week in the Gaspe was the warmest February riding I can remember.  Usually more like -20 than +20. Enjoy and be safe.

     

     

  11. What day did they get all the snow.  We stayed at the Copper last Tuesday night 2/14 left out threw La Cache to Matane.  Spent a couple days on the north shore before heading back to Remouski to go home.  Had the wives on that trip so glad we didn't hit the storm.  They would have freaked out.  Lots of snow before the storm it was a great ride threw the interior.
