  3. Heads up for trying to cross in on July 31 if that is your plan. It is the last day of the Summer vacation for construction. All the trades and constuction companies basically shut down for 2 weeks the last 2 in July each year and you can, depending on what time you get to the border and where wait for many hours to get thru. No joke. That july 30-31 very very busy time to cross into Quebec, just a heads up for you guys.
  4. Here you go. http://www.fqmhr.qc.ca/en/ Let me know maybe i would jump in. Depending on where and when.
  5. Fête nationale du Québec Wishing all a great summmer. Days are getting shorter already.

  7. For all you Safari guys, i am Seeing a Sold sign in front of the motel. I knew it was for sale but now says sold. Got no news of the new owner(s) will try to get some for you all.
  8. Here from what I have seen most of the sled trails (at least near me) are only used for sleds in winter. Then of course the various roads we use as trails in winter are back to roads in the off season. The ATV/VTT trails are mostly the same all year but do vary a bit in winter, they are dedicated to ATV-VTT but many people mountain bike on them and ride horses too. There are tons of dedicated bike trails but they are all smooth and not adventurous like mountain biking but you can travel very far on these bike paths and there are many many routes, it is very popular here. Also I see many many dirtbikes on the ATV trails too certainly not legal but they use em. Most sled trails are gone 3 seasons a year and grown in, just think of how many fields we ride thru. Those are off limits except in winter. So the only trails are really the ATV trails and the dedicated bike trails.
  9. The no start problem is real, but there are solutions that work. Would rather deal with no start in morning then not finishing a trip or a day on another brand when it's done running.
  10. Yes you must have a valid license. According to GT Riders link offences in QC and Ontario count on your Ny liscense.
  11. Seems yes if you live in NY tickets there count from QC and Ontario
  12. Learned something new today. Thank you.
  13. Interesting read here. http://snowmobiles.yamahablogs.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Engines-Dont-Just-Happen.pdf
  14. Hey now! Yes those pesky police are always out there somewhere. Best I can tell you is to have him pay it. Only gonna cause problems down the trail later. Unless of course he has no plans to cross into Canada again cause sooner or later if they check him at Border it will show up. There are quite a few places you need to know they like to hang out. That 73 is one cause they know is easy pickings and also in La Tuque near the airport. But he'll u never know me n the boys got stopped on 83 just at the eastern trail to Gouin. They were hiding there behind the sign for the lodge. No tickets just a warning. This was 2 years ago. I said "come on now we are in the bush here it ain't like we are doing this thru town." As always one good cop one playing bad cop. They were most upset with the placement of my plate saying my boot was blocking it from being read. Got a warning for that too.
  15. The price has been the same for the past two seasons. $300 before dec 9. I believe there was an agreement to keep it the same with no increases for another year or two. We shall see. Regardless it's a small price to pay and where else you gonna find trails connected like these with services and the snow. If 20 or 30 bucks more is the breaking point for you then maybe it's time to not ride sleds. Come on now.
  16. So sad. Really. Just no place for alcohol and driving anything.
  17. Got 4" or so new snow. Really nice conditions. Was very windy so pretty drifted out there. Maybe they will groom tonight. Nice and cold for sure.

  19. Was out local this morning for a few hrs. Gonna take mrs. ice out tmmrw for a run. Nothing crazy but it's better then nothing.
  20. 21 March Snowing nicely they say 10cm Nice fine snow.
  21. Ok Near Forrestal in Val d'Or nice loop around town there. To get extra miles or go down some 309 and come back up nice trail. On the way from Val D'Or to 396 Take either 313 to 93 then to 396 to Matagami. Not a lot of orange options. To play there. Most of the great orange trails are near La Sarre further west. Is almost 200 miles this way to Matagami. Then Matagami down 396 to 93 then to Lebel for gas. Then 93 is fast to Seneterre. And then down to Louvincourt nice too. Again not many options there for extra miles. South of Louvincourt there is a left turn that is an Orange that goes out to join 83 you could go out that way and come back to get some bonus miles.
  22. Yes I only ride in minus 20 or more. New snow last night Hard to say exactly how much At least 8-10" Biggest storm of the season to date.
