    TQ 3

TQ3 is usually always bad (bumpy) near Quebec City that is no secret However just for your info ITS REALLY BAD RIGHT NOW ROCKS AND A LITTLE BIT OF SNIRT NEED SNOW HERE BAD so if you are palnning to pass through this section be so advised IS lots of snow east of QC CITY and trail was awesome through the entire run from Manior until Quebec city Too bad cause the snow east and north of there is fantastic TQ 83 9/10 383 amazing big snow
  6. Sounds right on viper2 has been a few years since riding the area there But you desciption is right on. for the location of the trail to kanawata now the guys with me say it was that way last year but I did not pass there last season.
  7. Just returned from Kanawata Trail was different then my last ride to Kanawata Guys with me said it was the same route as last year (I did not use it last season) the trail to chateau Vert and Kanawata used to be right at the driveway to repos Now it is 30k before if you are coming from the Barrage Taureau and Cabanon otherwise was the same and real nice no traffic at all last weekend trails near Kanawata very sweet
  8. I don't know about speed but I can tell you for sure a tall windshield(although not race looking enough for many) makes all the difference for touring. If you are a rider that spends hours at a time going places a tall winshield just makes sense. I don't care what it might look llike. This is snowmobiling not a fashion show warmth and function for me. As far as the helmets go I have used a modular for many years I can see the concerns with the modulars opening during an incident for sure, but it's a dangerous passtime. I have an electric shield and use it when it is extra cold only usually. The choice is a personal one for sure and for each will be different. happy trails all bonne randonee
  9. have fun will be around there myself the 17 and 18 for sure will look for you MrGutz if you like steak and especially filet mignon then have the Sizzling filet at the resto pub 57 can't go wrong you will both like the Auberge Gouverneur
  10. Gouveerneur hotel very safe has secured parking for the rigs and a corral locked for the sleds indoor pool and hot tubs go eat at the resto pub 57 right next to the hotel great food great breakfast buffet at the hotel enjoy is probably the best choice for trip with the wife for sure

    Pipeline 360

todays ride TQ3 to the 351 north to st tite 360 to st joeseph de mekinac 360 north to the m7 m7 to 318 318 to 351 south 351 south to TQ3 back to the house all and all very nice 360 between st tite and St Joeseph bumpy but rideable pipeline better then I thought it would be (few rocks here and there and need more snow at the bottom of the hils for sure) but still 7 to 8 of 10 M7 a sweet ride like a magic carpet nice to the 318 very good back to st tite sorry no pics today left without the camera. Did not go all the way to La tuque met some guys coming south said it was good and the groomer was headed south but I turned on the M7 and never saw it Need one more real storm and some cold weather
  12. thanks viper2 I was having some flashbacks of the Winter Carnival in Lake George, NY doing the waterskip there for the crowd good times for sure Ah the good old days
  13. Trails looking pretty good rode TQ3 to 351 to St. Tite and back on 351 then to St Prosper and to Rogers Cabin then back to Shawinigan on TQ3 trails groomed and most signage installed Rivers a bit slushy but they are riding on them (a bit scary if you ask me) need a little more cold weather to make me sure. Rivere St. Maurice trail 347/318 is open but very slushy(pic attached) need some real cold and one more big storm to crank things up to full on. Will try to check the pipeline Wed and go to La Tuque for a ride. over and out
  14. SnowIsLikeCrack 100% true Quebec has it's shit together and why ride anywhere else.
  15. a few more no worry more soon come
  16. First passing of the groomer on TQ 3 in the area north of La Gabelle and some signage placed today too. Still very early but forcast looking good
  17. No way 4 feet I am here is more like a good 2 feet with 4 ft snow banks
  18. Sounds like it was a good day longriderss glad to hear it have safe trip home sorry did not get to say goodbye this morning
  19. first i want to say that a " good trail " is different as we know for each person you ask that said the following is my opinion on the trails I have been on the past weekend's storm did wonders for conditions for sure however more snow is really still needed received at least 12" here in Shawinigan area I was up in Saguenay tried to outsmart the weatherman but turns out it snowed more here at home then up there. Trails overall shaping up nicely for sure Spent the past few days with Scorpionbowl and ran into Longriderss and a friend of his too. Sunday saw lots of freezing rain and sleet and very little snow overall in Saguenay from this sysytem (except throough the park down the 175 to Quebec lots of snow fell there compared to what I saw before the storm on the way up. Lots of snowmobilers around Mt. Valin for sure. Most trails not quite ready yet. (Just my 2 cents) Some still real rough needing more snow like the 328 and the 368 93 real nice from 367 intersection to intesection of 93 and 23 in alma Major bumps near Valinouet in mt valin and the Bra Louis was like a snowcross track (moguls 2 feet high) too much traffic and no grooming for 6 days is probably better already but when I say was crazy believe it. I thought I was at Old Forge or something for sure not up to Quebec trail standards All in all not bad for what it is Still Very Early even for Quebec Stopped in St Raymond to check things out and was very impressed Fantastic Base and nicely groomed (a bit icy but hey I'll take it) rode not very much just the 73 to rivere pierre very good after that turned rougher and was groomed but not recently rode back to Roquemont lots of trucks and trailers for sure both in st raymond at Roquemont and at the Saguennee in Chicoutimi Returned back home to find the groomer has been by the house and trail 3 looks nice will take a burn around the neighborhood trails wed and report back If we can get this storm to dump on us this fri and sat then it will be real sweet Iceman out hey salut Scorpionbowl safe trip home buddy catch you soon
  20. was with the guys Saturday No riding from the HI yet More snow needed for this
  21. Still snowing and blowing here in Shawinigan Very fine snow blowing all around hard to say how much right now about 6-8 inches for sure should snow through the night nice to see it here its a start
  22. Snowing and blowing nice fine little flakes they say now could be up to 40 cm in some places will update later today
  23. There is a snowfall warning for much of Quebec as you probably all know Will report more as I watch it fall later today Nice and Cold here and feels like snow for sure Calling for up to 30 cm here in Shawinigan We shall see Bring It
  24. much colder the past week or so now here in Shawinigan Some ice on small ponds and swamps here too Ice on the bay near the Comfort Inn (site of the Gran Prix Shawinigan) former site i guess now rivers still NOT frozen zero point zero ice on the Riviere St Mauricie
