  1. Happy Easter to all who are still checking this site daily, with sadness I might add, as the winter is long gone and it is now time to ponder what mods we might want to do for next year.
  2. WOW!!! That was incredible. Potential world record for atypical, meaning not a normal rack, many extra points and mass. If that thing is still running around, I would love to find it. Groomer, if you hear that it was shot, try to find the story, if any, on the hunt. Is that a hunting outfitter? Would be interested in info on moose hunts. Haven't been on a good hunting trip in quite awhile.
  3. Yup, getting the quads ready, 80 degrees here this weekend, also. Alaska, hmmmmmm.....probably would be a great experience, but, if I went there, it would be to hunt.
  4. I don't know but I sure would love to put that bull in the crosshairs of my 8mm magnum!
  5. Riding is over, but you still find yourself checking all the snowmobile sites that you always follow daily, almost hour to hour, only to find the same posts and info that was there for days. It's a sad time. Anybody do the same and feel the same way?
  6. I read a story about some guys that rode to Radison. It's defiantly a trip that you must research and plan well in advance. Might not hurt to hire a local guide to take along. Have to carry your own gas. Some spare parts wouldn't hurt. Probably a very exciting and rewarding trip, though. I'm sure the scenery and wildlife must be phenomenal. Better take 4 strokes!
  7. I don't know, we've had packs of wild dogs on the farm and we've had to shoot some because they were trying to attack. Maybe they were rabid?
  8. Wild dogs can be just as bad. With more and more wolves being spotted in many areas, it's possible that inbreeding with domestic Huskies and Shepherds is going to start happening, especially in the remote areas like you're talking.
  9. That is absolutely amazing. What was he thinking? Can you imagine how the car driver felt? His poor family.
  10. That is a very good report. I always liked the March riding the best. Sounds like with a little savvy planning, you can still get some riding in.
  11. Hey Groomer, or anybody that's done it. Thinking of doing a trip around Gaspe' by car someday. Just seeing the road in the areas that you do when snowmobiling, it seems like a great trip, almost all coastal. Approximately how many miles by car is it around? Would probably start from RDL, go around, and start heading back south through NB into Houlton, Me. Would love to stay at some of the little B&B's that surround the peninsula. Like that one in Petite Vallee right on the St. Lawrence. I just realized that I'm talking about a summer trip in the beginning of March! Wasn't much of a winter for me. The fat lady is starting to sing for this year.
  12. Awesome wolf encounter. Once had a Bobcat, or Lynx sitting in the middle of the trail in Tremblant. Wouldn't move. We stopped, got off the sleds and all walked around taking pics. He finally got up, walked off the trail about 5 feet and walked parallel to us to the back of us then got back up on the trail and sat down again. Totally ignoring us. Guess he was waiting for a snowshoe rabbit or something to cross. Mad as hell that I can't find the pics anywhere. Just some more reasons to enjoy snowmobiling.
  13. How were you able to get all those pictures traveling the miles you did each day? Nice picture album by the way. Looked a tad bit slushy near the end.
  14. This post should be "You Know You're A Redneck When......."
  15. Richard is a standup guy. Here's a motel owner basically telling you to hold out some until conditions come around.
  16. Unfortunately, Polaris has gone downhill in recent years. Big differences from the '80's and early '90's when they were at the top.
  17. Gotta go 4 stroke. I've had them now for 6 years, since the RX-1, and I will never go back to a 2 stroke. Look at all the new, "state of the art" E-Tech's blowing up.
  18. As usual, great stuff. I was wondering. It's been awhile since I've been to Manawan. Do the little kids still come out and climb all over your sleds and try to sell you little souvenirs? Everytime I ever went there, the kids would come out of nowhere and try to sell anything. If you stopped, they would climb all over you! It would always bring us a laugh.
  19. Oooooohh, that should bring a cordial comment. Hey Shane, I see where you're from, ever go to Forge? Have you been there this year at all? I usually take 1 or 2 trips up there with the family. I'll be there next week. I was wondering if the conditions have really improved at all.
  20. Pretty sad winter when S. Jersey has more snow than a good part of Canada.
  21. Can't get any better of a report than that. Very interesting about that lake.
  22. Were the trail conditions in St. Come village a little bare, or conditions inside the bar?
  23. Alain? Any reports? Interested myself. The member named "towing", (Alain), usually posts about this region weekly. Wait for his next report.
  24. GOD, that sucks. Hope for the best. 2 dealers that I know from the York area, a Doo dealer and a Yamaha dealer have guys up there all the time. Sounds to me like that river is not a river you should ride on, it's tidal with a 15' difference in tides. They would have had to be off trail. A definite no-no. For your sake, I hope you didn't know him. For his family and friends, keep your fingers crossed and pray. KEEP US POSTED ON THIS. It's very unfortunate but, it could also be a valuable lesson that all should consider.
