  1. hahaha.....just kidding ,photo is of my daughter she was 11 at the time.
  2. When I travel through canada I use my credit card and/or I exchange my money at a cdn. bank..I don't expect the kid pumping gas to be current on exchange rates.
  3. ooops wrong region, should be in chad-app. not B-S-L. photo makes me look short..
  4. maybe you should take your shoes off so you don't salit votre tapis
  5. I've stayed at Le Manoir Lac Etchimin 3-4 times with good luck, can be a little pricey (parking situation not really the best)
  6. I did the same as Doobraap. ran 6" carbides and when the center wears, swap with the outside..
  7. I like the sub-forums, clicking around each one is not that big of a deal. There are some areas that I'm not interseted in. This usually is not a problem, maybe just a link would suffice. Just my .02$ (after exchange rate)..
  8. RoadRunner, it's great to see these conditions so early.Does St. Eugene have a new club house ? or maybe I'm picturing the Trois Pistoles club house, anyways good report.
  9. Devil's mountain ?? great pics..
  10. Why is Rob breaking into clubhouses...haha Switchback, hope things work out for your club. as if you didn't already have enough to do.
  11. Welcome revrnd, headed out to Cochrane, sounds like a nice trip. I used to spend my summers in Smooth Rock Falls back in the early 80's. I rode there only twice on the power lines and logging roads but I don't remember them grooming, now I read about that area in snow-goer.The riding must have really changed.
  12. I beleive you read it correctly. Road crossing= last winter I thought I was being waived on to cross the road,Ipulled out some, only to see an oncoming truck. We quickly came to the same conclusion "everyone decide for themselves".
  13. Nice choice Hden, 4-strokes are the next r-evolution.Polaris and Yamama are taking big steps in this area,Im impressed.Waiting to see what BRP has to offer.Anyways I hope you enjoy your new sled. it looks great...give us some updates on mileage and handling thanx
  14. is the canadian dollar higher or more likely the american dollar weaker, who should make the adjustment? I hope our retail doesn't jump $3000.00
  15. I can't see these lights catching on.. and as far as hand signals go, I keep my hands on the wheel. Last year I had 3 yahoos come around the corner all crossed up and out of controll each giving me the "contdown". If everyone keeps right I could see who's behind them. This incident happened in Maine, I don't see many people signaling in Quebec.
  16. Groomer, thank you reposting my photo(I have the blue helmet post #51). GTSE, I didn't have any problem booking rooms day to day. I either looked at the map to decide where we would be going or simply asked the innkeeper where most people rode to.
  17. I chose to go in march in march because of longer days, good snow, and hopefully warmer conditions. Well 2 out of 3 is not bad, it was -28c and windy as hell leaving New Richmond.
  18. Bonjour Groomer, do you call the moose to the road or just happen to be their at the right time. My grandfather used to make moose "callers" out of birch bark and sell them to hunters. P.S. Your dark sky pictures look great.
  19. Bill were they registered in canada? or not registered at all. I would think it's considered a motor vehicle and like a car would have to be registered somewhere. probably the only way to really show ownership unless you carry title and bill of sale at all times. I was stopped by Q.p.p. on the trail last winter and they checked to see if vin# on reg. matched vin# on sled. I never thought of not registering. Thanx for shedding some light on the subject , nobody needs a $200 trail coupon.
  20. This will be the first time I make plans for dec. Normally I wait for winter to really settle in, save my vacation time and money for feb. and march. This year my work is having a shut-down for 11-12 days and I don't see myself sitting home for that long. Is this a busy week for the H.I. or can I play it by ear. Thanx again.
  21. I am thinking of going to Mt. Valin the week of christmas and was wondering how the conditions around the H.I. would be or should I plan on staying closer to the mountains. I was at the snow show at the big-e (Springfield,MASS.) and asked this same question to the lady from the L-S Jean tourism booth, she gave me a packet of info, affixed a sticker to it that had Saguenay Bill's name on it, then says he would be better at answering these questions. Pretty impressive Bill, when the department of tourism refers questions to you!! Say's a lot for what you do for their area. Thanx, Martin a.k.a plain-rev
  22. Bobler asked if US guys are going to have to exchange. I would think exchanging at a bank in canada is still the best way. some hotels offer an exchange rate (not the best) but many do not. not everyone is on top of current rates. I know the kid at my local foodmart would have no clue what to do if i gave him money with the queen on it. hahaha
