  1. JULIAN CABANA 12/01/2011 10:27 http://lejournaldequebec.canoe.ca/jo...12-102744.html In recent years, snowmobilers had problems on some trail in the Snowmobile Club Beauceville, Chaudière-Appalaches. The club volunteers have come to settle the case, ensuring the survival of their club. "We are particularly proud to have resolved this issue because, now, riders can come in and move freely, without risking the imposition of the offenses, said the club spokesman, Mimi Drouin. You should know that the stretch that caused us problems was the intersection of Trans Quebec 75 and 55, trails are essential for our region. You understand that for this reason, the importance for us to have succeeded in creating a new trail that will bypass this site which gave us quite a bit of trouble. " The portion of trail in question was between the local club and Saint-Georges de Beauce. Initially, volunteers were required to travel more than four kilometers to snowmobilers on Saint Charles. They had managed to reduce the distance to 1.5 km in winter except that the row was on earth, snowmobilers are allowed to pass on the grounds of some homes to find the snow they need for free movement. This is where the problems started. Police and tickets "The end of last season has been hell for us. The owners have complained to the police because snowmobilers spent on their turf. The police came and handed out tickets to snowmobilers offense. At some point, they were there permanently. Imagine all the nonsense that we were entitled. Snowmobilers simply did more to come here, "said the spokesman. Finally, the problem was solved with the arrival of a new portion of trail. "We managed to convince a friend of snowmobilers to let us make a path on its farmland. We finally granted permission, which led to the construction of a new stretch of more than two miles that solves all problems. We stood in the club we were in the relay between the Trans Quebec. " Some will ask why have discussed this case in this column. Just to give an example of what must live volunteers to ensure the survival of trails in Quebec. For the club of 165 members, he had to invest $ 11 000 for the creation of this new trail. Fortunately for the volunteers, they received help from the Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Quebec. If the club Beauceville is not unique. Annually, many volunteers have to invest time and money to create and maintain a trail system that benefits many people, in terms of economic benefits. One way to reduce the disadvantages of this kind would be for volunteers to work on creating a permanent trail system, to which committed the Minister for Transport, Norman MacMillan. Volunteers make this request in 30 years. It is hoped that this time is the charm. groomer !!!

  22. Snowmobile season saved at Gaspé The weather in December caused extensive damage to the snowmobile trails running through the territory of Gaspé. Bridges and culverts were washed away by water and almost all of the trails have been affected. Repairs to these trails, however, will save the season. Just before Christmas, President of the Snowmobile Club of Greater Good friends Gaspé Steeve Curadeau, received a phone call, but above all a gift. At the end of the wire, the regional conference of elected officials who offered their financial support. The amount that has not been set should cover about half the repair costs estimated at less than $ 10 000. These works are only temporary. The club was content to filling to ensure the smooth running of the current season. However, work must be resumed once the snow melts. Club president Les Bons snowmobile buddies Grand Gaspé Steeve Curadeau, describes the trail conditions: "It cut across several locations. Everywhere in the city of Gaspé up Douglastown, the entire territory of the club was attacked. " The longest to repair the bridges will certainly since they both require a little planning, but also construction. These works will cost much more than temporary repairs. In comparison, the cost of repair after the floods of 2007 had exceeded $ 100 000 in 5 snowmobile clubs. A question now is who will pay. The Club also claims that the Ministry of Transport of Quebec still owes him money in connection with the work of the flood of 2007. "It has not been given yet. It is 5 clubs like that. In other words, there is a shortfall of $ 20 000 for the Snowmobile Club. It is valuable, but what is back there, it has to be paid for. There is, then someone is going to have to take money out of his pockets, "says Steve Curadeau. Even if the hopes, the President of the Club really does not expect to receive money from the MTQ for future work, especially since he is still waiting for that $ 20 000. groomer !!!

  24. me too !! :D the only club i know with studs on their groomer is baie-comeau.few years back ,they had bought a br .went to groom and whoops ,unable to climb some hills .probably because of some icy spots.so ,they called their dealer and they put studs to fix the problems. on my ''map '' ,few years ago ,on the old trail, very steep there just before arriving at the road.tried 2x to climb that hill ,but was nt happy with the grooming .i was nt unable to use the ''cutters '' because i was losing too much rpm. so ,i was using the road instead.at least one mile up hill.one night,i was going up that hill, using the snow banks a bit to have more traction.suddently, left track spinned ,in a fraction of a second ,i made a 180' , u-turn.lucky ,very low tracffic road.maybe 10 cars a day, maybe less. woow !!my shorts almost changed colors!!!bull hit the snow bank on the other side and i was on the way down.very scary !! :o after this happened ,before going up that hill,i was cleaning drag, pan and tractor to save weight before going up and locked the differencial all the time. now ,with the new trail ,it s a lot better.only at the beginning ,it s narrow and steep.just watch myself what i do with the drag and try not to spin the tracks.not time to go backward!! ha !! ha !! groomer !!!
