  1. 1200 or 800?
  2. We stayed there Saturday night, got the table next to the french doors to the bar at night and in the AM.
  3. A few more pictures of the ride~
  4. Sounds like you had a good time! We have had good luck at 100 Lacs, but late season you are taking risks.
  5. Day 2: We headed out in the AM after an AWESOME breakfast at Mekoo's. The 319 to the 322 was awesome and fresh groomed. The 322 to the 63 was a bit thin in spots, but nice and fun. Back tracking the 3 miles on the 63 to get gas in La' Annountion was a bit rough with no snow on the road and bridge, but it worked. The 63 to the junction down to St-Donut was great, (except for 2 miles in the middle plowed to dirt for logging.) Riding the 63 into St-Michael was 25 miles of snowcross bumps. Plenty of snow, but man was it rough. Bright and sunny and warm made it bearable, kind of. Gas in St-Michael and off to Cabinon for 15 more miles of crap trails, (but very good snow!), and lunch. I remember now why I avoid the area at all costs. Lunch was awesome, and very few customers for lunch or in the lot. Next we headed out to Mattiwin. Again, snowcross bumps for the first 25 miles, then very nice trails the rest of the way in for 236 miles on the day. Mattiwin had their groomer out again the night before tweaking everything up! Mattiwin has done an awesome job with the grooming this year, and I mean awesome. Lots of sleds, trails have been smooth, and you never see them out? They really have done great. So are we finally done? I think so, unless I get a call for next week-end. 5100 miles on the year for me, great season. Now what to get next year, another 1200, or over to the dark side and get a 800?
  6. Few more pics
  7. Day 1: Headed out of Mattiwin this morning on our way over to Mekoo's, Went via the M20 and Repos, then Matawan for lunch and gas. Lunch was very good. Last was down to Mekoos. All fresh groomed except the last 30 miles, and the groomer just headed out to groom that! The trails in and out of Repos were great. lt looked like the 33 south was groomed, don't know how far? The conditions are superb doesn't get any better. Low traffic and so much snow! They got us in a really nice cabin for the night, maybe we can stay till the snow melts? A+++ service. 206 on the day, with some paying around in the middle.
  8. Looks awesome! Be careful out there: http://www.hebdosregionaux.ca/abitibi-temiscamingue/2013/03/19/collision-entre-deux-motoneigesdeux-blesses Mark.
  9. Yes, for us a very, very good product!
  10. We must have just missed you, as we rode 90% the same trails, and they were AEWSOME! Going back on Friday. Best March up there in many, many years.
  11. Good recovery, may be heading back up and run into you!
  12. 6 mile road to the trestle in La-Tuque, not bad at all! 6 mile road to the trestle in La-Tuque, not bad at all! I always wanted to stop and climb this thing, don't think I ever have! With not enough snow to take out shortcut we had to buzz through la-Tuque the normal way. Saw 4 Case groomers at the groomer shack, and they had been out! Reservoir in front of Windigo with the level dropped 10 feet or so! Pipeline, looking pretty darn good! End of the feeder trail out of Windigo joining the 83, the dirt pile is clearly marked now.
  13. It is winter up there, you are going thing you are riding in mid February!
  14. Day 2: -6F, cold today! Back to the truck in Mattiwin at 1:13PM with 214 miles on the sleds. 4600 for me so far this season. Nice day today. 90 miles to Kanawata, good trail with the corners bumped up a bit, but still good snow. Took the lake out back of Kanawata, and stopped at Repos for $10 in fuel. It seems everyone at $1.80 a liter now. Hard to get used to $7 a gallon gas. Trail to the M20 was iced up pretty good from the rain last week, use caution here. The first half of the M20 was a bit bumpy but the ice was gone. The second half is higher in elevation and had just been groomed all the way back to the truck. Awesome! Real mid winter conditions up here. So a nice ride for us. Got to visit with Pat and his Vermont team at Gouin, (they were on a 4 day 1000 mile loop and having a nice time). As always top notch folks at Gouin, (great place for riders, sorry no hot tubs here). We also got to visit Martine and Daniel at Windigo on the way up and thank them for all of their help on our last 2 trips, (Awesome people!). We did take the shortcut to their place again. She said for her things are winding down. Saw only 5 oncoming sleds. There were maybe 20 at Kanawata, and another 20 at Repos, and maybe 20 more at Mattiwin. We did catch a group of slower riders 10 miles before the truck. They are calling for a foot of snow in the surrounding areas for mid next week, so it's still not over for those that want some more saddle time. Happy trails!
  15. A few pics, still winter here.
  16. Day 1: Arrived at Barrage Gouin at 4:00 with 259 miles on the day. We started the ride at Mattiwin. It was 11f when we left and 8f when we arrived. Most trails were very good to excellent! A bit snirty for 5 miles out of Mattiwin and 5 miles out of LaTuque. 83 into and out of Wemotaci was SUPER, fast and glass smooth! The snow up here is silly. There is still good snow on the road before the trestle to la-Tuque. Saw NO sleds on the trails. Only 2 small groups stopped on the side. 83 is ridiculous.
  17. Looks to still be good snow, will let everyone know later.
  18. I would stay high, stay west, lots of snow. I would not even try Roberval or Mont Laurier.
  19. Wow, very nice conditions still!
  20. Not too worry,we found ton's of snow and most trails were the best of the season easily. Get her fixed and head back up!
