  1. Nice pics Linda.I have 3 sets of scratchers in the box at the sled den and all my sleds have them.To me its a must for a sled.Once you see how much snow they will put in your track. You will always use them.I have sold many a rider on the trail. They just see how much snow is in the track.Shipping is the same price for 3 or one pair..lol...have fun .. Jack
  2. Crazysnow,Hope you guys have scratchers for the freeze. They will save your sleds slides and cool them down. Last year my wife and I rode with some friends on a trip. Her attak and my 163 were full of snow and the other sleds had water and almost no snow.KEEP THE PICS CUMMIN. JACK
  3. This is in the back of the Sled Den. 3 miles long by 200 yards wide of hydro to ride at 1200 feet in back of the house.10 ks to get to the hydros and have spent the day riding with newbies before going into the cuts. And roads, also atv trails etc.We didnt have to leave the backyard for 3 days. The only reason we went somewhere else was to check out a new spot. There is 2-3 days riding in the back of the house..Mont-st-Pierre is limited by the park. The boundry is really close to that area.No cuts that are out of the park there.Mont-Louis has cuts right next to the trail.See lots of people stop and watch. But thats only at 1200 feet so sometimes the snow is too thin there to ride them.We only ride 2 spots in Mont-st-Pierre area. One is a sidehilling trail with a 1000 foot cliff next to it. ( I have a pic on my site with a come along chained to a sled ) The snow drifts there and turns the atv trail into 35 degree+ slope. Its a sick mountain goat trail. There are skandic trails that run to all the towns. If the locals tell you where they are.Usually they dont want us on them cause we trench too much.We dont when we go on these trails. In return they have told me some more that I had not found yet.Tons to just ride down and see where they end up.Sometimes its an adventure to turn around, but thats riding off trail in new areas. jack
  4. Alright/Some old school riders.Rain, snow, sun, who cares. As long as its on a sled.Have fun guys. jack
  5. Its going to be awhile before we see this again..Its all going to ice. jack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4vclPS9uog
  6. RMK... I had a little guy once...but now I am the little guy..lol..Watch it cause soon hes going to catch up.Mine did.Hes still not as good but will pass me soon.lol..Happy to see another old dog wanting to learn new tricks.Or atleast wanting to try something new..You will have a blast for sure.Got video and new pics on my site.www.gaspesnowmobileadventures.com ...Will post some more when I get a chance to.Looks like I will this weekend cause there will be no pow pow after this weekend..Too hot..But no rain here like the rest of Quebec..Hope it snows soon again.. jack
  7. Hi Shane..never to old to try something new..I have only been mountain riding since 2006.Before that I was a trail rider. So yes you can teach a dog new tricks..lol..This is what you can expect..People see this mountain from the trail..but they dont see whats on the other side.We do..Hope you come to see what you miss when driviing from place to place on the trails..The fun is trying to get there... jack
  8. The sun came out after a week of snowing on and off..To the tune of 4 feet+ of pow pow..Here are a few pics..Of my son and I riding in the cuts.We hit but only the tracks..Still got straight tabbles..lol...for those of you who follow the blog on my site. There will be more pics and videos on the site by mid week. Jack..
  9. Sounds good..There are 3 mountain shovels at the door for guests and I also have probe sticks for when we ride the cuts in the mountains..Havent been in any Avalanches but have rode some snow slides..lol..But dont worry its rare here. But last year they had more than 50 Avalanches in one day. When we had that crazy melt. They arent big here but they drag you to the trees and thats why there are more deaths and injuries in North America than Europe...And you thought the stumps were the danger..I have taken the couse and we check the Avalanche forcast from Avalanche Gaspesie every morning...There was a death last year. A skier stopped and his friend started to come down and it set one off..He was pushed over a cliff and fell to his death.... They are very rare so dont worry...Backcountry adventure..lol..thrill too sometimes.. jack
  10. Hi Tom,whish I could go,but I have to ride then..I mean work..lol..Maybe next year depends on if I have guest that week or not. If you ever get down here I shall let you try an RMK in the fields here for a few hours..no its not a rental..I have 2..One for my son.Just pay the gas... jack
  11. We are running 2.5 163 stock Polaris..I think this is the best track I have ever ridden..I have a camo extream on my yammie 162 with 14psi and I still think the rmk track is better..AND I am not brand friendly..I use what I think is good..Changeing the back bumper cause its junk..and I broke it the first day..lol..I also had to role the sled and the hand gaurd broke off..lol..going to get the softy ones..jack
  12. What an epic day..More than 1 foot of new powder over night..It also snowed all day to the tune of 10cm more..We have been getting snow squawls all week, and its starting to really add up..There was 4-5 feet of pow pow today..Its crazy deep....Its close to 7 feet deep ABOVE 1500 FEET,..Ask my son ryan..He stood on the road and sank up to his chest.Hes 6-4..RMK 163 only today..Anything less than 162 up will get stuck..When we start off its pined and you go into a wheelie cause the snow is sooooo deep..We even had to quite often rock the sled side to side to get it to go.Thats deep!!!!
  13. I am tiered of riding my sled in the backcountry and running into these park signs. That are in the WRONG place..My sons I-5 phone and my gps say that the sign on the road 10ks into the woods from the Sled Den is wrong.By 1 and a half ks .We ride a cut not far from here.but to get to it we have to sidehill on a 1000 foot cliff..so no mistakes here, or ride the road.No signs on that road from the other direction..but when we ride back on that road,we pass the sign going back home..How is this possible..Yep.. so if I used the map on the phone or the gps..I would be caught in the park de la gaspesie..they like to give tickets for 1000 $..On the road maps for the gaspesie it says that the sign is in the wrong place..so move the sign or change all the maps..This is not the first time I have run into this problem..I shall put up the maps to show you the area in question..So I have taken it apon myself to rectify this problem with the QUEBEC GOVERNMENT..As I have said before...only as good as the guy usiing the gps..So did they put the sign there by mistake..or did they do it for another reason.. Was wondering if anyone else has been in something like this before. It would help in my fight.A mistake on the trail map is not the end of the world..you just follow the trail even if its not perfect on the phone or gps...with the park borders...lol..its not the same. The mistake will cost you. JACK
  14. The snow is stupid here right now..There is too much for anything smaller than a 154..We rode yesterday and it was crazy...We got snow..lol..The trails look great..No one on them. They were groomed yesterday...They are waitting for you...lol.. jack.
  15. Yes it snowed..We got 40cm at sealevel and 3-4 feet above 1000feet..I know its hard to believe but I have pics...The trails were groomed yesterday. No one has been on them.Tons of snow here.We got 3-4 feet at sealevel now.The mountains are really deep now. Here are some pics of tracks my son and I did yesterday. You can see the handlebar and seat only in one pic..Tracks on logging roads. And the one I am standing on the road. You could not get off your sled anywhere. If you did you sank 2-4 feet.. jack
  16. We didnt get lots from the last storm.10cm at sealevel and 15cm at 2500 up.The trails are good around here. They still need another storm in the south. The storm going by now is going to rap around and give 20cm at sealevel to 35cm at 3000+ feet. The mountainforecast never lies..lol..This snow is all the eastern point of gaspesie..I think that most if not all the trails will open..It will take time as the trails around here are not easy to groom. There is tons here now.You can ride anywhere except in cuts.Sometimes they cut the trees in the winter which leaves a 2 foot stump. This is why you need the 4 foot base not just powder. So anyone who wants to play in the backcountry or ride trails, fields,www. gaspe-snowmobile-adventures.com is ready for you.But if your looking for the mountainsled rush....Its almost ready for the long tracks. jack
  17. Nice pics guys...North of baie comeaux, about 2 hours is some wicked mountains..They are like out west, very open and a little bigger than the ones in gaspesie..But there is no where to stay..You have to stay in really shit conditions..More like a logging slash tent town..If it wasnt so empty there thats where I would have a place..But your gas and everything else has to be brought in..Too much trouble....JACK
  18. Oh well we only got 45cm...a new record.Even the eastern townships got tons.Looks like all of Quebec will be open before new years for the first time in manny manny years..Lets ride..
  19. Hi Linda..We got 20 so far and still snowing like crazy.Going to get my yam looked at in Coaticook tomorrow. And they are getting 35-45 cm..Magog..yaahooooo..
  20. Was comen home last night from Alfred ontario..And lord and behold the groomer is doing the trail along the 417..at 12 am.. What !!!!.now hats off to the guy in the tractor. And just 2ks from the highway through Alfred ontario..My son and I saw this walking accross the field so we parked where we thought it would cross and waited outside the truck..This is what we saw..
  21. Well while most of Gaspesie got rain, the north shore got mostly snow..Today we are getting 5cm more but they are calling for a monster storm on thursday. The mountains are still powder ( 4-7 foot base ).Sealevel is a little icey. Were a little behind in the acumulation department, but I am sure that will change in the next couple of weeks.I shall keep you guys up to date on conditions...enjoy the holidays..jack
  22. Nice Alain....thats the most snow I have seen there in a few years.Well it looks like alot...Happy holidays... jack
  23. Looks like another big storm for Thursday.I can ride from the front door of my house..But its still a water crossing to get off the island..
