bob_o27
Hey has anyone rode from Saint Raymond on 73 up to 355 on to 383 into Jonquiere? How about 23 south from Jonquiere to Saint Raymond? I am looking for a good honest report. Thanks
revct1
Hi Bob, We came back in the truck from Chicoutimi Sunday, Jan 3, 2010. There was plenty of snow going thru the park thru L’Etape. When we got to the big Petrocan station at the bottom of the park, it was just above freezing, +2°C, with a slight drizzle. After Quebec City we got on Autoroute 20 and the temperature dropped like a rock. It went from +3°C in Quebec City to -8°C in Drummondville. St Raymond may have stayed below freezing. Remember our observations were from the truck and not on the trail. On another thread here I read about Mt Apica not open yet for gas and maybe the Esso station in L’Etape is closed. I don’t know for sure but check your gas stops before heading out on trail 23. Has anybody rode 23 yet? If you did, how was gas availability? Greg du Vermont
My information is that the Esso station which is closed is the small station at the very begining of heading into the park, back near stoneham and the big new petro canada gas plaza. I believe that the station at L'etape is open
Greg du Vermont
From the AdmdQ trail conditions section Infomation as Jan 7th The park has been groomed by the club UDM lac st jean est from hebertville to l'etape and is entirely surfaced and relais mont apica is open with gas and food. If you are checking the admdq.org site for trail info on the interactive map, be sure to move your cursor over the exclamation points "!" located on the map as they contain additional current or important information. Wow, I was at Mont Apica just after Christmas and the place was a wreck inside. I am amazed they have it functional already.

revct1
Thanks Greg. I wasn't sure which Esso station was closed. It is good to hear L'Etape and Mont Apica are open. I' m glad to hear that club UDM made a pass to L'Etape too. :D Thanks Jack
bob_o27
Ok we just got back last night from a two day ride. Left from Saint Raymond on Saturday morning took 73 to 355 north toward St. Francois trail was good some icy spots, thrails were flat and hard. The food at The Trapper Relay was great and they have gas there now. A good stop. We continued on 83 to 383 into Jonquiere. Total 280 miles for the day all the trails were in good shape with some spots that were icy and a few stuter bumps. On SUnday we left Jonquiere headed back to Saint Raymond the plan was to take 83 to 23 we got to L'Etape trail 23 was as good as it gets. When we left L'Etape gas station trail 23 south had not been touched. We saw 2 tracks headed down it but it didn't look open? Still no idea as none of the locals seemed to know if it was open or not. We ended up taking 369 south to Beuport on to 3 and then up 73 to Saint Raymond. All of these trails need snow and attention rough and a lot of SNIRT especially around the towns. Total miles for the day 260. Thanks to all the locals for your help with directions and assistance. Happy trails Snow Seekers! jtktm
Rode from HI to St Raymond on Sat . Plenty of snow till you come down the hills outside of St Raymond. Going north on 23 in le Tape look closely for the gas sign at the major intersections. Easy to see coming south but difficult running north. If you miss it Mt Apica relais is 95 miles from the Roqumont. The rain will hurt for sure in St Raymond but up at elevation there is a ton of snow. With two stops we made it from HI to Roqumont by 1:30.
