Greg du Vermont Posted January 16, 2008 Report Share Posted January 16, 2008 While we are enjoying another winter of our chosen passion, the Quebec Snowmobiliers Association continues it's efforts to protect and defend the sport of snowmobiling throught Quebec. Many Americain Quebec riders have chosen to become members of the AdmdQ, but many more (all) should join the mission. Today the President of the AdmdQ Patrick Boucher is being interviewed by the media in response to ongoing efforts by environmentalist groups on limiting sled operation in various important National Park areas throughout Quebec. Sound familiar? This threat to snowmobiling by organized groups is for real and will continue. Now maybe more than ever we need to present a unified voice in standing up, being heard and protecting our sport. Other current activities include Continued awarness and involvement in the above issue Involvement in efforts in making the sport safer by encouraging increased safty instruction to rental sled riders Responding to negative publicity associated with accidents by presenting the larger positive picture. Various support and reponses to right of passage issues Being an accessable "go to" snowmobilers voice for the media. I will be attending an AdmdQ meeting this weekend in Rivere du Loup were these and other issues will be discussed to come up with responses and strategies which will protect and defend snowmobiling into the future. The http://www.admdq.org/ web site is now capable of taking your family and muti year memberships as well as individual. It's paypal easy. Still $10 for your 1 year membership and it still includes a 1 year membership the the Airmedic emergency rescue program. I welcome any questions or comments that you may have and will continue to offer periodic updates as to the activites of the AdmdQ. Very few of us who enjoy riding Quebec are able to offer our volunteer support in labor or other tangible hands on ways. At the very least the AdmdQ offers us a meaningful way to lend our political support. Thanks for your AdmdQ membership. grumpysanta Posted January 16, 2008 Report Share Posted January 16, 2008 YES this sounds like a great deal and we have to stand togehter to protect our favorite winter sport or we will lose it , like so many places in the USA, We have the best places to ride and some people want to take our freedom away. it is sad we cannot all get along and share!
