Trail 345

Recommended Posts

Anyone notice on the FCMQ map btrail 345 north of Lac Repos was changed sometime during today. Looks to go past Lac Chatrovert and not through Kanawata.

Yes  Pipemaster, from those who ride there the map is now correct, but from and to Repos many will use the kanawata express way (road) even if we are not supposed to...

Funny how this came up, I was actually thinking about doing an off trail ride up the old 345 through Chateauvert sometime this season, bummer it’s groomed.

Not sure what you mean by that, that place was in rough shape many moons ago when the trail did pass through there, has it changed for the better or for the worse.

Taking the express trail doesn’t go by Chateauvert, did you just go have a peak and zipped back or continued on to the shortcut to Wemotachi?

Was Chateauvert a lodgy kinda place with gas that the trail ran right through?  Don't know if this was a thing, but did they smoke hams there?

Is it possible that maybe like 5-6 yrs ago after the trail changed, a couple of us bailed off the Kanawata "road" that was badly rutted by truck tracks, following old GPS tracks, but had to turn back around when we got to a couple of BIG bridge trestles, but no bridge, and no (sane) way across or around?

Or is it just the voices in my head?...
