  1. We left clayton ny this morning about 9 30 a got to the border before 10. Not one car In front of us and none in site. Got to the agent and she was polite and very professional. There less than 5 minutes on on our way. Got up to Ethans at 3 30 this afternoon. Lots of snow and best of all the trail we are headed for in the morning was groomed a couple days ago and had no traffic. Info came from the groomer operator. We are in Rapid des Joachim. We are headed for Timiscaming and onward north. We are at the outfitter here and 43 is less than a mile away. The owner is Ethan and what a wonderful person he is. Has a main lodge and a couple cabins. Groomer operator said north of here there is tons of snow. Tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day.
  2. I rode on thar trail years ago and I still remember them hills. Came off the first one and never touch snow until the bottom. Riding second in line behind my oldest son who didn't tell me about the size of them things. Promptly went right to the back of the line. Wasn't for me.
  3. We are ready go. Woke up this morning and the ArriveCan receipt email was on my phone waiting. I don't about anyone else but this has been very stressful for me. Worry about passing the covid test, filling out the form's and then it said it would take at least one business day to receive the pass. I have to thank the Canadian government because it seems they have their shit together about getting us to do what we love and missed last year. THANKS.
  4. Going to the west side of Quebec and going to make a 1500 plus mile loop. Going for 10 days. Wide flat trails. Thanks again for your time coaching me on getting the proper covid test. Good info for people, we got our test at the Walgreens in boonville. They had lots of appointment times and we drove up to the window 30 minutes early and they guy did it then. Seen lots of sleds at Tuggers. Thanks again.
  5. Hey hey we're on our way to Quebec. Had a covid test and both us passed. Heading for the border tomorrow before anyone changes their mind lol.
  6. My son was told by a Canadian that the Canadian government is or might declare that fully vaccinated is the booster has to be included. She told him February 1st is the da we will be told.
  7. I'd trade Fauci for a rock. Remember when this first happened and Fauci became known, because I had never heard of him, there was a woman who was always included in press conferences with him. Where did she go. Maybe she was smarter than the rock Fauci.
  8. That's such a great trail. It makes you feel like you are truly out in the middle of nowhere even if you are riding parallel to the highway. Just a question because I don't know. Is there any locals that live on the road near the trail. I would think one of the clubs would set up a fuel depot in someone's driveway and profit both parties. I'm sure some organizations might not like it.
  9. Don you are exactly right. The problem is the uninformed people in this country. The only info that they believes they get from Facebook. My wife reads a lot from people you never hear about that our government and media just keep saying that they are conspiracy theorists and they totally make sense. They say it's all about control as in communism. It's hard for me to listen to her because it does make sense even though it's so hard to believe. I do think we are in terrible trouble. Hopefully the next election will stop this , if it isn't corrupt.
  10. Great story I have. In 2005 I was living in north Carolina and my oldest son calls me and says dad hop on a plane and come home and we will go to Quebec for a ride. Great idea. Got home and 5 am the next morning we headed for Mont Laurie. Went up 13 and decided to go to Clova. Now here is the story. We met 2 gentlemen from where I don't know. We were talking about places to ride and one of the gentleman told me about Gaspie. His statement to me was if you ever get to Gaspie say a little prayer for me because you will be as close to heaven as it gets. Been there several times and I always think of that gentleman and what he said to me.
  11. And the impact it does on the earth. Where's the environment people on that.
  12. Well sorry but you were off by 5 days. I think you still have a future in telling the future. Lol
  13. Just read the Canadian government is going to tell today the updated rules on non essential tractor Canada. This should be interesting. Hate to say this but see you in 23.
  14. I stopped showing pictures of our adventures in Quebec because most look and say it can't be that smooth and great. If you don't experience a Quebec trail than you will never understand what the rest of lucky people know. There is nothing better than riding the north shore of Gaspie and looking at ships that look about 1 foot long. Or riding north of Val Dor on them flat long trails and clicking of miles and just clearing out your mind. Goodness I love this sport as do so many of you all. Season is getting closer so everyone be safe and enjoy.
  15. That is beautiful. Most people in the states don't realize the quality of the trails in Quebec. That is why it's so hard to ride here. I always feel a little guilty to be the first on a freshly groomed trail. Not that guilty but a little.
  16. Yes and our government doesn't care if they have covid. Just seeing votes for the next election
  17. Does that mean that if you are randomly tested and you fail then they keep you and won't turn you around. What is the 72 hour pre test for. Plus there is a few Quebec Riders in that they might not want to keep. LOL
  18. Been there. Towed my oldest boy on a 100 mile trail and he had to go hand twice and come back so I could tow him some more. I would do it again in a minute. Lol
  19. We can make it with our 850s. Been more than 150 miles on a tank a few times. Didn't like it tho. All depends on your thumb. Lol
  20. Are we sure there was any ice. Maybe he was just water crossing. Lol
  21. Also the two big drug manufacturers have already said they will have a vaccine with in 100 days. Wonder how much will that cost.
  22. Two years ago we left out of Mont Laurie and ended up in Cheval for the night and dinner. And what a dinner it was. Anyways we were heading north towards Parent and just north out of Cheval there was a trail to the left and a sign saying Clova. After I got got home I heard from others that it was a local trail that went over to the Lepine rd and then to Clova. I think Dominic had something to do with it. My question is has anyone ever rode it and is it still there and open. May get a chance to explore this winter and I love going going to Clova.
  23. That's too bad but understandable. You don't hear of any incidents of truck snowmobile but I'm sure there are close calls. Anyway ,great story, we took a friend to Quebec many years ago and left from Ethan,s on the south end of 396. When we got to the log cabin outfitter the first time raced about the trail. I told him the next section of 63 so I had read was even better. Well it was and the smile was bigger. When we got to the north section of 396 I told him be ready because this was going to be special, of course I new it was because of reading about it on Quebec Rider. To this day he still talks about riding the 396 and the fun he had on the hills north of the gas stop. I don't know why that trail was so great that year but it's one of my greatest memories of Quebec. Hopefully it will be open again next year.
  24. This is going to be a real problem. At a dealer today for oil and was told and saw a hole line of sold sleds with no gauges. Worst was they are waiting on over two hundred new sled that customers are waiting on. Also a Polaris dealer, they have been told no deliveries until late February. To me this is in no way the dealers fault. I know everyone is going to be upset and there is no way the manufacturer is go to have to listen to the unhappy buyers. What is sad is it isn't just one sled company, it's all of them. Where are the parts coming from, I don't know. I'm just urging people to be easy on the dealers. I can say this much , I bought oil that is 60 dollars a gallon now for 45 dollars last year price and we got our sleds in June. They didn't have to do that. So who would want to be in their shoes. Specially if it was owned by that person.
  25. Sorry but the people I ride with there is no way I would get in that thing with any of them towing me. Lol
