Phil.....love the Chic Choc share. Unreal !!
Snowman...huge dog lover here too. They make a house a home. Im the Dad to a 19 lb dog named Moose. He is our only dog....3rd Bichon we have had in a row.
Putting some SnowTracker carbides and Trail Blizzer scratchers on my new sled this coming week....and getting the sleds stickered. 🙂

So far...This Grand Sault is the closest to RDL that may show perspective of snow depth.
Not a trail obviously. Some cams show airports or rivers etc where it doesnt tell you much perspective of conditions.
-
So this is interesting. In my quest to find a cam that shows a trail somewhere near the RDL area I figured a few things out. There may be a club house with one onces the season starts but none now.
Canada doesnt have public webcams everywhere like we do. Not sure what the reason is but there are much less in number there.
Interestingly, If you have a private webcam, this site proved to me it needs to be password protected. ;-) Im scratching my head that there is a site that gathers these links and shares them.... Crazy world !

Enlightening.......search by country, type of places, etc. Yikes.

I hear the Chic Chocs have a lot of snow already in elevation.
Before trails/grooming...How do you guys keep tabs if there is much snow on the ground in RDL .?
Must be some decent web cams somewhere in the area.

Non turbo. I no longer need horsepower to attract the ladies, I have a puppy to do that.
Hahaha. Nice. I could have 3X the HP and Im still slow.
If we cant ride cant we at least talk sleds/sledding ? LOL. Sooo...What you got coming Mike ?

Its killing me Mike....

Do any of the clubs in this RDL area have webcams you guys check that show trails ?
So can you tell Im getting antsy ? Haha

Thanks for the input guys.
Im looking for a plan B if Maine doesnt bear fruit that week for riding. My wife and I have some time off. :-)

RDL riding between Christmas and New Years ?
Anyone seen decent riding in past years in this time slot ? I guess Im getting itchy. :-)

Dont ever assume I know what Im doing. ;-) I always appreciate the info Mike.
Going to follow that route more or less today ! Cant wait.

We are here at Universel. Gassed up and ready to ride for 2 days.
So happy to be here.

Hit some mix and a few tough trails in Maine Saturday. Shoulda made the drive up to RDL.
Anyone ride Saturday up there ? We are contemplating driving up early Sunday if trails are great....and theres a room there.
We live and learn. ;-). Meantime we had a great time taking a rough 165 mile ride yesterday with some great freinds. Worth it.
-
They didnt blink on the cancellation. No problem. Great hotel.
First thing my wife said Mike was about giving up the room with a hot tub for after riding. lol.
Biggest snowfall all year yesterday statewide too. Wish temps were lower but like RDL its just a few degrees below freezing at night the next week. March is always fickled. With work I dont get a chance to ride 4 days straight ever, so the extra day riding with new snow vs alot more driving was the game changer. We loved the riding up there too much last year to not be back next year...longer stay maybe.
-
Well...thought we would be driving up and see you in the bar Saturday nite Mike but we pulled the plug. We got a ton of snow yesterday-today statewide. Over 15” here. Alot more some areas. And its nice packable snow not fluff. Who’d have expected that 2 days before leaving Maine to sled.
So we will stay in Carrabassett Fri-Sat then Lake Parlin-Jackman or Milli or Patten Sun-Wed. Hardly any driving, more riding.
Was looking forward to riding those trails but had to call an audible. Next year for sure. This cant happen twice. :-)
-
Tough call with this snowstorm here. Temps are at/slightly below freezing day/nite. Millinocket\RDL is almost identical borderline temps these 4 days. Actually just slightly lower at nite in Milli.
This is a good dilema. No idea what to do though. LOL. More time to ride if I stay in Maine. We could get in a extra ride Sat instead of drive. Also riding Sun-Wed traffic would be a breeze those days even in Maine.
My heads spinning....

Thanks for the report trying to figure out to go up or not.
I know. With a foot and a half of snow today in Maine, its tempting to ride right up in the county here this weekend.
Whats the cancelation policy anyway ?
Any chance ?

Hoping to get up a little more than our usual 3 Day Trail Pass....even if its just out of Jackman or Eustis for an overnite or 2.
So...On the season pass...I know prior to 12/9 saves some $. I saw it mentioned something about a “insurance rebate” and wondered about that. We personally insure our sleds year round and wondered if this “rebate” pertains to those who do have their own insurance or if its something else...?
