When we were in La Sarre getting gas, 3 sleds w/ NH stickers rolled in. Just curious if they're sledders on here.

We rode TQ83 from Notre-Dame-du-Nord last Sunday. We found the signage between the Nedelac turnoff & the Rollet area to be "iffy". I followed the homemade Rouyn signs & got to Rollet, but only saw RT303 signs, no TQ83 signs. The trail where the GPS said TQ83 was hadn't been groomed in ages (if open @ all). Just follow the Rouyn signs. Also, the TQ83 signs took us on what is a local trail from Cloutier to Montbeillard & north, bypassing Beaudry. Having the GPS @ least kept us going in the right direction R-N. Anyone heading towards Cochrane from La Sarre, it's 117 miles or 188 klicks from the Ultramar @ the south end of La Sarre to the Esso in Cochrane.

Here's a file w/ our planned trip thru Quebec w/ some waypoints added as well. I was able to convert the FCMQ GPS file after downloading GPSBabel rather than using the online version

Just wondering if the trail from New Liskeard over to the St. Bruno de Guigues area has been staked or will I have to use the GPS to find our way?
-
It's a Garmin Legend Cx. I've downloaded .gpx files from gpssledmaps.com in the past & used the Babel software to convert to .gdb format, but never had good luck converting .kml (google earth) files.

Does anyone have any tracks or waypoints for this area? We'll be leaving New Liskeard for Amos via Rouyn-Noranda this coming Sunday, then heading west to Cochrane on Monday. I've drawn tracks using the ACMAT trail map, but would like something a bit more accurate. I've tried using the GPS file on the FCMQ site that rws suggested, but I can't seem to convert it w/ the GPS Babel software. Please upload anything you may have to this thread. When I get back from our trip next week up there, I'll post my tracks & waypoints.

I doubt very far. The lake I don't think can be wardened so you'd have to get your permit in New Liskeard before venturing onto the trails. I have heard in the past sledders from Cochrane heading to La Sarre getting hassled between La Reine & La Sarre going for gas.

I guess we will be. I see on the TATA website that A107Q has been rerouted across the lake.

Leaving New Liskeard on the 10th for Amos. Staying @ the Amosphere then continuing to Cochrane.

Anybody been up there recently?

Is this a map overlay or a Garmin file w/ waypoints & tracks?

While planning for our trip I used the various gas companies' websites to find their locations in the Abitibi-Temiscaming region. I've added a few waypoints from the Ontario side of the border. The file is a zipped version of a .gdb file. Maybe this topic could be moved to the GPS forum.

I'll post my tracks after our A-T trip next month.

Does anyone on here have GPS tracks for Quebec?

Thanks guys. I've read about your "adventure" that you had a couple of years ago, glad everything worked out. Probably the worst day I've had was a few years ago riding from Mattagami Ontario to New Liskeard. Lots of snow coming down & not a lot of traffic made it hard to follow the trail.

We'll be riding from Notre-Dame-du-Nord to Amos & La Reine on TQ 83, RT 307 & TQ 93. Are there any special sights that we should watch for along the trail?

Hi gang, I just signed up. I wasn't aware of the site until Saguenay Bill PMed me thru another site. You've seen my posts on other sites. I haven't ridden in Quebec before this winter. Our itinerary on our Northern Blastoff takes us from Notre-Dame-du-Nord thru Rouyn-Noranda & on to Amos. Spending the night there @ the Amosphere. Heading west thru La Sarre to Cochrane.
