  1. Thanks Towing for the info! I installed mine last night. Unfortunately I'll need them next week for my Gaspe trip!! Pics were a great help.
  2. We are leaving from RDL on Monday, 3/8. Want to do 200+ miles a day. Any suggestions where to stay? Thinking Matane for the first night. I'm already thinking we'll take 5 to Gaspe, take the trail that cuts between 5 and 597 and head back. Maybe do a loop south of Matane....587...stop in to see Groomer if possible. What do you guys think? Don't know what hotels to stay in yet but I figured we'd go by whatever that nights hotel tells us... From what I've been reading it sounds like 595 may be out? Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the info Towing! Any more? We are leaving from RDL on Monday, 3/8. Want to do 200+ miles a day. Any suggestions where to stay? Thinking Matane for the first night. 4. That blows. But don't give up on the Gaspe. This has been a terrible year. Since this year was bad for ya, next year is almost gaurenteed to be good!!!!
  5. Looks good! Hopefully it will still be around when we come up 3/8....
  6. My buddy has a 07 IQ 600. Its on its 3rd engine rebuild. All covered by warranty but he has no confidence in it now. Sucks....
  7. That sucks! My 4-stroke Attak engine has been bulletproof....at 12,500 miles everything around it is breaking!!! Thanks for the report!
  8. Awesome! 1435 miles is pretty solid! Weather permitting we'll be up your way 3/8!
  9. WOW!! Looks like the southern end is supposed to get some snow this week though....
  10. Thanks for the pics! I bought these ones based on info from this thread and tried to install them today. I'm a little leery of drilling holes through the floorboards but whatever. Your pics are perfect and exactly what I was thinking of doing. Going on a Attak so it looks the same.... Thanks again for taking the time to take pics!!!
  11. Holy crap! Great job! That's something to show my family and friends as its hard to describe a Quebec saddlebag trip. You did a great job!
  12. It doesn't look good. I would postpone. I did for this week and am just starting to get over it!!! But I looked at it this way - I bought my pass pre-season so I saved a little there. I didn't spend a bunch of money and abuse my sled on poor conditions. Although I may abuse it a little here in Tug Hill this weekend. Supposed to get a bunch of lake effect but the trails are still beat up. Mother nature has really kicked us all in the balls! (or vag if your a girl.)
  13. Good info. Thanks. No issues with them hitting the track?
  14. Best of luck Action Jack! If your planning on heading out that must mean its still ridable, which is good. Maybe an inch or 2 of snow on the ice and you'll be good! I'm sure you guys will have a good time regardless!
  15. We cancelled. Sucks big time. But it was the right thing to do. Not worth driving 7 hours for crappy, wet, icy conditions. I hope for the people that did have to go (Actionjack) that the conditions wern't too bad. Also, I tip my hat to Motel Safari. I called to cancel and she was totally understanding and didn't charge us. Now that is cool! That will make me plan our next trip to include them, even if we have to drive further. My next trip is planned for March 8. Is it too much to hope that there will be snow? Am I asking too much?
  16. Great! Thanks for the report. Hopefully the trails will survive the rain!
  17. Thanks for the replies and keep em coming! Right now I'm thinking Hotel Safari and then riding up to Lac St Jean. I know it all depends on Mondays rain but that's what I'd like to do. Kills 2 birds, closer to home and its one of my snowmobile destinations! Only heard good about Hotel Safari. Any other info anyone can give would be great! Sounds like there a few people in the same boat as us!
  18. Hello Quebec Riders! We are in a jam. Vacation plans to go snowmobiling 1/25-1/30. As you all know, conditions are not good. I'm looking for advice on the best place to launch from. Would like to saddlebag, 1000 miles but right now I'll settle for anything! Coming from Syracuse, NY and would like to keep the driving under 10 hours. We were going to drop at Maniwaki but that doesn't seem to promising right now. Monday would be our drive day. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!!! If we don't go, all I'll do is sit home and pick my nose. and drink. and swear. and probably sell my sled. (just kidding about the sled) Thanks again for any help! ****************Update below 1/25/10**************************
  19. We are leaving on 1/26 and this may be the route we take too. Never done it before so please post up some knowledge!
  20. Very cool pics! Also, I've wondered how you guys keep the trails open and its been explained to me but the pics make it easier to see.
  21. Have a great Christmas Groomer and keep the pics coming! Very nice!
  22. Great news!!! Go get 'em Groomer! I'm heading out tomorrow. 3+ feet in Tug Hill NY. Gotta love lake effect!!!
  23. That sucks. Last year on our first trip we stopped there for lunch - no one there. They said business was terrible. On our second trip we were staying at Mekoos and rode there for a beer (only 1). Again, no one there. The place is super nice though. We would have stayed there this year maybe. I agee about the rustic places!! Its nice to mix up a trip with rustic/luxurious...
  24. Over 4500 for me last year, best year ever. Probably won't hit that this year as that's a lot of working midnight shift, sledding all day, falling into bed at 4 or 5 and then back to work at midnight. It can suck. I have planned 2 trips to Quebec this winter. I would like to go over 5000 some day though.....
