Finally they brought the Vintage sled price back down at 400$ last year that was ridiculous, I think they should have several categories not just one, a 2003-2006 REV is considered Vintage but IMHO they are not even close, I would have a category everything up to lest say 1990 is a reduced price and then from 1991 to 2002 a other price.

The one to seven day category is a little expensive also, I understand they are trying to get people to buy annual passes, but not every one that owns a sled expects to ride during the winter and might at some point go a a few rides with buddies and get a day pass, if it was cheaper they would probably sell more and have less people just going and lets see if we get caught.

I think having to buy a $900.00 permit trailside if/when you get caught without one in Quebec is a VERY strong deterent. How old your sled is doesn't matter at that point.

Quick update on the Bearings, ALL were dry, 3 had seals fall off, these were all NTN\Japanese bearings....

FYI on the small wheels, the bearings are the odd 1/2 metric\ 1/2 SAE type.

    6202 - 5/8ths.

    The standard 6202 , I believe, has a 15mm ID.

I'll find the link on the Jungle site.

Also I am working with Val to create greaseable shock bushings.

So did the dogbone have 4 factory installed bearings in it that were too small OD for the holes in the dogbone?

I have to believe that a steel pickup would have faired better in that collision that this aluminum F150 did. I hope the individual(s) in the truck survived.

And are printed usually in August. Not very fluid with all the closings and changes.

I'm not sure about the US but in the past in Ontario it has been sled club volunteers who sell the advertising (that pays for the maps) in the summer. Everything is rushed so that the maps can be printed hopefully before the sled shows but at least in time for the sled season. When they are done many of these same volunteers start getting Mou's signed and trails staked and signed. There is just no time for worrying about map changes for closing of businesses shown on the maps and late trail location changes.

Plan would be to enter at Temiscaming and take 43,308, 13 to Mont Laurier area, 63 to 23, back to 63 to cross at Trois Rivieres, then work the 65 and 25 areas back to Armstrong and the Maine border.

Backup plan would be swing north in Ontario to Timmins, then Chibougamau, Roberval, 355, cross at Quebec City and back

There are only 2 trails into Quebec on the western side from Ontario as you are likely aware. A110Q from Kirkland Lake or A102Q from North of North Bay to Temiskaming.

We rode the area around A102 last week. The trails had lots of snow after the rain and were in excellant shape. If you are going via A110Q, Signfan's idea to go south from Timmins makes via Gowganda makes the most sense for getting into Quebec to head to wards Chibougamau. Shortest from Gowganda east to Elk Lake then the A south, L161, L108, A109 to A110Q. There are 2 good spots to stay in Gowganda even though it is a very small community and fuel at a cardlock coming into Elk Lake on A107C.

We did ride west towards Sudbury on the D trail (southern route) to Sturgeon Falls. The D was very good in that area this past Thursday.

I don't know the guy...but he is making a big mistake...a lot of customers will be done with him...when on vacation sledding...guys usually spend like sailors in port...he should be carrying on a fine tradition...just this post...he lost me...hopefully one of his competitors will be anxious and smart enough to pick up this business

There are many very successful accomodations and restaurants that sell for top dollar because of their success then the new owners change the menu or services to what they think is correct. These newbies just don't get the don't mess with success idea.

! sent a Facebook message to the club in Chibougamau earlier today asking what was happening with that section. Will report if/when i get a response.

Here is the respose from Club Chibougamau:

I'm new to this forum and have a loop to Chibougamau planned for the first week of March 2025. I've noticed on the iMotoneige site that a large section of trail 93 that falls somewhere in the middle between La Dore and Chibougamau is still showing closed. The trail 93 leading up to and out of this closed section is showing open. When I turn on the Grooming Layer it shows that this closed section has been groomed within the last 36 to 72 hours. Does anyone have any information on this closed section of 93 or know if it's actually open based on the grooming? Thanks for your help!

  9. I was wondering what is going on with trail 5 being red  on the online map along the east coast of Gaspe from the Anse-a-Valleau area to the Coin du Banc area? There is a section of trail 5 around Riviere Au Renaurd that doesn't even show up as being available on the map.

So I went to the FCMQ website and opened the Club List section. I was surprised to find that there are no clubs shown/listed on the map between Grande Vallee des Monts on the north coast to Grande Riviere on the south shore.  That is a long distance not to have any clubs to take care of trail 5 and other trails in the area.

Has there been some clubs drop out or is the map wrong? Something is going on and I have seen nothing in writing to explain the situation. Does anyone know what really is going on out there?

and yet this pile of shit section of 83 AND THE Imotoneige app show open, green & "good"

What a complete failure. The FCMQ and Aliance du Nord ought to be real proud of themselves !!!

I'm not sure how the map is updated in Quebec but in Ontario it is up to each club to update all of their trail conditions. In our area we have to update through the District contact 3 times each week for regular checkups plus anything that requires a change in between.

Not a trip around the gaspe yet or is it even doable

Not  around the coast according to the FCMQ online map. Trail 5 is closed from Riviere Au Renard south to the De Forceville local trail cutoff + more closures along the south shore.
