i bought spare springs, i carry them with me for the Rouski’s. Been putting them back up by hand, still carrying those springs to fix the Rouski’s. Haven’t needed them. Have Used wheels alot.

I had a set of Rouski's on 2 different sleds over 7 years and never had to replace the springs.  That said, I drilled small holes in the spring case one size bigger than a lubricant spray can straw and then soaked the spring & chamber each spring and fall. Still do that on my sled.

They are doing the right thing!!l

But I got 10 bucks that says they’re will be plenty of tracks on their trails this weekend

I completely agree with you. If they opened the trails without completing their due dilligence they leave the club, the Federation and possibly themselves open to lawsuits.

ooking and thinking about this more I gotta call bullshit on this blackjack1 and someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Just because it will fit either way dosnt mean its right. Two things are obvious. The small warning sticker on the shock is upside down and more importantly you dont have the two surfaces where the piston arm goes into the shock body and the crimp around the two part shock body facing up where water and snirt can lay and collect on whatever seals are there. I'd bet my lunch money that BRP would say absolutely only one way it goes on.

Besides the up/down issue I found this last night and just about shit my bibs. It's extremely unnerving that a dealership would let something like this out the door. Imagine the bolt coming out and the shock dropping and suck you right into the woods or worse.

I remember reading a year or more ago about someone else with the upside down shocks on a new sled. If I remember correctly when he contacted the dealership they told him to bring it in and they would correct the issue. I remember thinking at the time that it was a pretty shabby miss on the PDI.

Maybe because they are done grooming, so now it is pass at your own risk?

Certainly for the yellow trails but red means closed. I understand it's $745.00 if you are stopped by police on a red trail in Quebec.

The app is sketchy as hell.

Not sure on Quebec's system but in Ontario it is the individual club who decides what colour their trails will be on the online map. It can leave room for different views about what colour shows up for all the clubs.

Have 2 people in roberval needing to get back to st.michelle. Trails are closed can’t ride back. Any help on who to call to get driven back to st.Mechelle?

I think that I would have ridden to St. Raymond or as far as I could on open trails then find a ride unless it was an emergency situation. JMHO.

One time we had to do that, we went into the local pub and asked the bartender if he knew anyone with a Suburban like vehicle and 4 bed trailer that could take us. Our ride walked up to our table about 40 minutes later. Price seemed very reasonable at the time.

Another time my buddies engine blew just outside Hearst, Ont. We pulled it towed it into the dealer who quickly diagnosed that he wouldn't be riding it back to North Bay (530 sled miles). The dealer gave my buddy a ride to the local Truck Stop and the second driver coming out that he asked gave him a ride to within 500 feet of our truck.

First pic looks like 307. Love the top 1/2 of that trail!

  8. Can you imagine the liability if something bad occured on that brown trail. Those sections really shouldn't be open. I know a group of 12 guys that are supposed to leave tomorrow for a 12 hour drive and week of riding in Gaspe. While trying to decide whether to cancel or not they look at  Imotoneige and see open trails but can't see what the reality is some areas (unless they are QR's of course). Like everyone else, they don't want to cancel a chance to ride Gaspe.

With this bad winter, and the reduction in $$$s spent at hotels\relays\etc.... will more of the local business communities realize the value we bring and the impact on the economy..... And just maybe embrace us more and stop closing trails and reroutes in and out of towns.

just a thought...... looking for a silver lining for the season.....

    GutZ

I'm pretty certain that the affected businesses and many of the public especially in small and remote areas already know the value of snowmobilers to their business. The impact may not always be positive as there are many "entitled" sledders out there. Although they are the minority the results of their actions are felt and remembered more than the majoritys actions. I can tell you from more than 30 years of club and trail work experience that reroutes and trail closures are not something the clubs want to do (just more work for volunteers to do) but are a necessity based on circumstances. JMHO

They have no rooms available the day we are leaving she said a construction crew rented all the rooms . I would like to leave my truck and trailer up on the hill never had a problem there

The parking area across from the Canadienne Motel at the corner of Kipawa and Hwy. 101 has always been a safe place for my friends that often park there for multi day trips.  I have asked SSR (above post) who you have to pay to park there.

This reminds me of last year when we where both leaving Temiscaming at the same time until we had trailer problems. I wonder if Temrose will let me leave my truck there if we book a room at the end of trip. Will be watching for updates on trails from Temiscaming it showed limited this morning to Val-Dor they where showing closed yesterday hoping we can get to go this year I have a brand new sled to break in . We have Reservations at the Forestal for Monday the 26th if we have to drive up there but would rather be riding sleds to get there.

Hoping you guys have a great trip keep me updated.

There used to be parking in Temiscaming available at the Esso station a block up from the bridge. They have a big yard. Not sure if they still allow parking but it might provide a possibility if you cant park at the Temrose.

There was also a big parking area at the corner of Kipawa (the main drag) and Hwy. 101. It still shows on Google Streetview Maps but I'm not sure what date that's from.

Heading to Baie Comeau tomorrow and they just posted section of trail closed at Tadoussac . Has anyone been through last couple days ?

It was green yesterday , maybe road work ?

The online map  shows the closure as being on the "trail" down to the ferry and only being 100 meters long (330 feet). You could very likely ride the road past it.

In no way saying they're a smart bunch in that car.  But could just be the reflection from the groomers headlights.

I don't think so. The angle the groomer is at compared to the car I don't think a reflection from both back up light lenses would look so similar. JMHO

  14. Does anyone have boots on the ground current info. on Gaspe and the trail closures?  I have a friend and his group slotted to start a trip next Monday and they want to make a decision on whether to cancel or not. I told him they would likely need to drive to at least Mont Joli to start the trip
