  1. Close relatives: johnny standup Usually can be found near Val D'or on presidents day weekend. Machine of choice: turbo Yamaha Merci bon soir
  2. Hey Bill did you see johnny standup's brother...Danny Ditchbanger? Lol
  3. Greg. Check your inbox I sent you a PM on Sunday
  4. 30 miles ot so...if memory serves.
  5. Trout lake has the most expensive gas in Quebec. $2 litre ....years ago. 2 toast and a bowl of canned soup was $10. I wouldn't set foot in that place again. But hey sometimes that is what you get when your plan falls through.
  6. I can speak to 13 from st anne du lac due north. It is not what I would call a grand boulevard. Runs berween a cliff and the bazin river and it is tight and twisty. Last weekend it was icy where the cliff is steep as to be expected after the water ran with the warm up. Where do you want to end up?
  7. Scranton - the website says the trail was closed due to the weather. Sorry can't remember your first name. We met you guys at the impromptu QR gathering last year in Val D'or. Doonali Dave Eddie Phil and more I am probably forgetting. That was fun. Have fun
  8. That is some serious powder! I am already out of breath and sweating just looking at the pictures. My 1200 would not have even left the parking lot...lol. I remember Bernard telling us that the best way to get going again was to lay down in front of the sled and start making snow angels. Man that guy was funny. Always ready for your arrival with a Heck of a beer. I guess a skandic SWT might have come in handy today. Keep posting pics RR.
  9. When you consider the south side of the river, there are more farm lands than forests. Within 2 hours of Montreal you might end up with a lot of road crossings between fields, rather than logging roads in the woods in the St. Zenon area.
  10. Hi Bill. New sled runs great. Love that new sled smell. Jack. It was a blue bird day for sure. Resolution kinda sucks due to resizing. Playhard. It really was. 360 miles. Groomed fresh both ways.
  11. Shannon and I followed in Dave and Eddie's footsteps for our first foray of the season. St Ray to Alma and back. Midwinter conditions in the parc des Laurentides. New steed ran well, or so she tells me. A little chilly this morning. 20 below. The river had some serious snow mist coming off it this morning. I missed that photo op. Stay on the right and enjoy the season.
  12. Mid range I really appreciate you posting this news. As I have said before, your back yard is my favorite playground. Every year the lepine road excursions take a new twist. It's almost as if no one wants it to be. I enjoy it, almost as much as I enjoy Clova. I know this is not a popular opinion, however if you really think about it, it's hard to argue with: If you don't want to stay with Dominic at the school house, and you really miss the Tabernack that much, stay off the lepone road altogether, without his work and expenditure there would be no trail up the Lepine. In the words of another fellow QR favorite...Merci, bon soir!
  13. I liked the idea so much that I called today. Unfortunately CAA Quebec is only available for Quebec residents, the lady referred me to my local AAA club. I mentioned the reason I was calling was for the plus membership that included sled and atv coverage and that I would be willing to pay the full amount just for the sled coverage alone. Again, no go for US residents. I told her they were missing a large part of the market due to the residence stipulation. She assured me she would voice that concern at the next meeting. I won't hold my breath waiting for a rule change. I think 1 tow job of 100 miles alone would be worth $182 CDN. Sure you have to get the machine to a road accessible location to begin the recovery effort by CAA, but usually that is dooable if you know where the next road crossing is, and are able to convey that to the tow truck driver.
  14. We met Dave and Dana with Markus and crew this winter at Mario's. They were super nice people. They had a great laugh when we stopped at casey. I kept thinking to myself my 1200 was the same, how could Dana keep pulling away so easily. We all laughed for a good 5 minutes when Dave opened the hood and told me not to feel so bad. I am saddened to hear about this tragic loss. I wish the families and friends the best.
  15. I also noticed more Freestyle and Summit sleds out west this year. Usually those are the super cool guys. Taking the trail 90 percent of the day with an off trail sled. I believe they help accelerate the deterioration rate of the trails. 5 minutes under the power lines at the end of the day makes up for that. I figure that's how they justify it in their minds.
  16. That corner Rob missed is where Shannon hit the bridge. That corner has a serious history. Many people injured in that same location.
  17. I first read about the NOCO GB 30 on a thread posted here last season. I was impressed by what I heard. I thought it was such a great idea that I decided to start carrying them at the shop. I purchased them in bulk and have them for sale @ $99.99. If anyone is interested send me a PM and I will get one shipped out to you. Here is a link: http://www.geniuschargers.com/Boost/
  18. Amazing journey. Excellent report. Beautiful pictures. Thanks again for sharing. Cheers
  19. I know there is the presbytere a little higher, then a couple places in Roberval. What do you suggest? Thanks
  20. Thanks again Bill for hosting another gathering, we had a great time. Keg was just about kicked. I enjoyed talking with all of you. Another breakfast missed - unless there is snow calling my name, Sunday morning usually starts a little late for me. The apple pie was tasty as per usual. I hope Ray is feeling better. Ginger - we went to Chutters after Brunch - I think the local dentist owns the place - LOL. Taylor says thanks for the candy! The only thing I could have asked for would have been more time on Saturday afternoon to enjoy each other's company - time flies when your having fun. On Sunday we did a little tour de NH before heading home. I look forward to seeing you guys again @ the Forestel. I regret to say that bringing a keg to the Val D'Or is out of the question - it would never make it down Louvicourt Boulevard
