Pas moins de 40 % des propriétaires ne possédaient pas d'assurances. Depuis lundi, des pelles mécaniques s'activent tout près du poste d'accueil de la Zec Onatchiway. Le sol est jonché de carcasses de véhicules et de débris de toutes sortes. Une entreprise spécialisée, E.J. Turcotte, s'occupe de récupérer les débris. Le propriétaire de l'entreprise, Jean-Guy Turcotte, explique que le bois récupéré est envoyé à Alma et qu'il sert à faire du compost. Il ajoute que le métal est envoyé à Québec, où il est récupéré. Aidé par la municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) du Fjord-du-Saguenay, le Club de motoneige Onatchiway reconstruira le site et y apportera d'importantes modifications. La distance entre chaque remise, par exemple, sera beaucoup plus grande. « Les matériaux extérieurs et la toiture, ce sera de la tôle galvanisée. Le fond du terrain sera en sable, donc plus solide. Il y aura des améliorations énormes. Il y aura plus de sécurité pour les propriétaires de remises », explique le président du club, Denis Mercier. Plusieurs propriétaires évaluent leur perte à 25 000 $ à la suite de cet incendie. Le réaménagement de la zec Onatchiway se poursuivra cet automne. hi gutz and longriderss!! thanks for the advices !!tuesday and wednesday after work ,put the camera directly in the sun for about 2 hrs each day.fog dissapeared from the lcd screen ,but the sreen still look blurred. if i play with the on/off switch ,even if the switch is on ''off '' the zoom still extend .the round button i use to change the mode looks ''kaput '' to me .does nt work anymore .modes don t change at all . but ill try it ,using a hair dryer or something else to dry.not much water went in , but enough to break it. friday afternoon i don t work ,so i asked my boss to have my friday morning to go to rimouski to buy another camera.last night i went to see the camera of my brother ,i thought he had a nikon d-90 , but it s a canon d-40 .like the way it work .he only have a 200 mm lense ,not enough for me ,at least 300 mm and a small one ,can t remember 20/100 mm ,something like that .he bought it roughly 2 years ago and paid 3800.00$$ with a few accessories .filters and bag . so ,i changed my mind ,ha !! ha !! i won t go to rimouski tomorrow .can t decide if i spend 8 to 1000.00$$ for an extended zoom or 4000.00 $$ + for a dslr .buying an extended zoom i ll probably regret it because i want a dslr ,but in the gaspesie you don t save 4000.00$$ in a week end .ha !! ha !! so ,for now i ll use the extended zoom of my brother for a while and decide later. posted winter pics , i guess we are all in the same boat ,35c here yesterday and very humid .slept for about 3 hrs last night.yesterday ,it was 36 c in latuque ,16 in baie comeau ,18 in 7 iles and 12 in matane.just surprise me there s no snow in matane in july ,always cold there :D .30 c in riki . pics ,last run on tq 5 ,april 3 th ,08 thanks again . groomer !!!

hi phil !! thank you very much !! well ,bad and strange week end for me,lost my best friend.friday ,packed my stuff in my cooler and realized i had forgotten a few things.go back to the grocery ,back in the parking ,realized i had forgotten to fill my water jugg.go back to the house. ready to go,about 6 miles before arriving to the camp,every sunday i hide 6-8 5 gallons buckets between the trees and load them up with gravel to fix the road on the last 800 ' before arriving to my camp.so ,i arrived there load the buckets and unload before arriving to the camp.once at the camp ,put my stuff in the camp and realized i had forgotten my shovel on the side of the road .take the 4 wheelers ,wide open for 6 miles before somebody could steal my shovel. saturday ,went across the swamps on the other of the river near the camp.had to cut a few fallen trees .once on the other side of the swamp ,decided to ride a lot more .i made a 25 miles loop.roughly ,6-7 miles from the camp,crossed causapscal river.just beside the river ,there s ''winter roads ''there .it s swampy with water and black dirt .got stuck in the black dirt.just lucky i had my chainsaw.took another trail .stuck again,used the chainsaw again to get out that hole. sunday morning ,went to ride again.back to the camp for diner.decided to do a load of gravel with my 4 wheelers and a trailer.2 miles from the camp.went to that place many times.must go in a ditch to load the trailer ,about 3 ' deep.arrived there ,the 4 w was in about 2-3 '' of water.and the trailer was on dry dirt .so , i had my camera around my neck in a bag. usually i always put my camera on the front carrier or put the strap of the bag on the handle bar when i load the trailer.where i dig for gravel ,it s just a little slope.so ,instead i put my camera on the ground .i think it was on a little flat spot.by the time i put my camera on the ground and reach for the shovel,it took maybe 5 '' ,heard a strange noise ,turned my head around ,)(*&?%$/)(*&?%$)(*&?% ,i don t think i need to tell you which word that came up to mind first. just saw my life going down. *&&?%&?%$ ,the bag with my camera inside fell down the slope in about 2 '' of water.geeeeeeeeeeeezzz ,i was mad at myself.hurried up to grab the bag.there was water inside the bag.looks like,there was water on the lcd screen, just a bit where i put the batteries and maybe a bit on the switch on/off. right now ,the lcd screen is fogged at 60% ,i have troubles with the switch.last night i played a bit with the camera and did nt work .took 2 pics when i arrived home and it worked . ...and just to add to the sadness,this morning i was awake since 3-4 mins ,preparing my breakfast.turned my head toward the road ,2 mooses coming in the yard of the camp.2 females.saw them for about 12 mins ,looking by the window .i had let my camera in my truck because it was nt working the night before . be sure i ll remember my ''4 th of july '' 2010. please ,don t make jokes about it ,my blood pressure still very high !!! ha !! ha !! ha !! very bad and strange week end.sorry for the long post . groomer !! :angry: :( :angry: :(

salut plain-rev !! ha !! ha !! it help to keep them closer to the camp.i installed 5 on our territory .about 2 miles by 1.5 mile.there s a mom with a 2010 calf at the camp since 3 weeks - one month .i can see their tracks every week end ,but have nt seen them ''live '' yet. can t remember if it s only on the duniere reserve or with park matane included ,they use over 1000 of them. groomer !!!

since at least a week +, they stopped talking about the fires on the news ( tv ). must be good news !! groomer !!!

hi gutz and smclelan !! thanks !!i should take more ,i ve been lazy lately !! ha !! ha !! ya ,last thursday rained for 12 -14 hrs in a row and it was about time .then a bit during the week end ,also yesterday and today .did nt work at all last week even if i was allowed to work til noon.i was rusted yesterday morning ,ha !! ha !!!..................too much time at the camp !!! we still need more rain ,causapscal and matapedia rivers are low for this time of the summer, usually you see that in september.rough times for salmon anglers .last week at the '' forks '' right in town ,the salmon pool was just like a little pool . groomer !!!

back from the camp.was there since thursday morning.pic with the 4w ,friday morning .before arriving there ,there was a black bear 200' behind the 4 w. yesterday while taking my dinner at 1 10 hr pm ,2 friends came by ,from the other side of the brook.tried to hide beside the camp ,but i had a bad ''angle '' to take pics.so i went directly on the lawn and took pics 75 ' from them.made a mistake ,should have waited for them to come in the yard of the camp.they were facing the wind ,so i guess they were on their way to come in the yard of the camp. pic of the female alone ,last night ,800 ' from the camp.on my way back . hail yesterday around noon at the lake and -2c last night at 1 15 hr am.it was cold when i came back from the lake . groomer !!!

Un feu de forêt dévaste un club de motoneige. La négligence d'un fumeur pourrait être à l'origine du feu de forêt a causé de lourds dommages aux installations du club de motoneige Onatchiway, à une cinquantaine de kilomètres au nord de Saguenay, dimanche après-midi. Environ 220 cabanons, dans lesquels étaient entreposées 400 motoneiges appartenant aux membres du club ont été incendiés. Même chose pour le garage dans lequel se trouvait la surfaceuse. Au total, on estime les dommages à 1 million $. Selon des témoins, les flammes ont pris naissance au bord d'un lac situé à côté du pavillon d'accueil de la ZEC Onatchiway alors que plusieurs pêcheurs faisaient la file pour aller faire peser leurs prises de la fin de semaine. Le vent a ensuite poussé des tisons de l'autre côté du chemin et l'incendie s'est étendu aux installations du club de motoneige. En plus des pompiers de la municipalité de Saint-David-de-Falardeau, il a fallu quatre avions-citernes de la SOPFEU pour en arriver à contenir l'incendie, qui n'a détruit un hectare de forêt, en plus des installations du club de motoneige. Aujourd'hui, c'est un hélicoptère de la SOPFEU qui continue d'arroser les flammes, pendant qu'on surveille attentivement le vent, de crainte qu'il vienne attiser les flammes et étendre l'incendie. Il faut dire que le risque d'incendies de forêt est extrême dans le secteur. Il y est interdit de faire des feux à ciel ouvert et les travaux forestiers y sont l'objet de mesures préventives. Prudence en forêt À l'échelle de tout le Québec, la SOPFEU rapporte 17 feux de forêt. Les conditions de relative sécheresse ont mené à l'interdiction de faire des feux à ciel ouvert dans une vaste zone allant de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue au Bas-Saint-Laurent-Gaspésie, incluant le Nord-du Québec et la Haute-Mauricie.
