yesterday around noon, went to check the trail going up to the lake , at the '' stump ''.on my way there saw 2 calves on the road.just too bad ,i was way too far.started walking toward them,but mom jumped on the road to check for ''traffic ''. then ,went to the stump,they harvested trees there along the trail.looks like it s going to be ''rock and roll '' there after a windy storm.they just let a strip of trees between the 2 clearcuts . then last night, while doing my moose run ,saw that lady on my way back.great time!! stayed with that lady at least 20 mins.she was nt shy at all.lot of mosquitos tho,i don t mind. groomer !!!

hi kel !! before going to the camp !!just checked the thread on the french forum and a few times this week .not much news. according to one poster ,many camps burned and the owners of those camps were ''customers '' at relais 22 . when the owner has been interviewed on tv about 2 weeks + ago ,he said that he was afraid for his friends owning camps near relais 22.looks like the ''economy '' for the owner of relais 22 will be rough for a while . heard on the radio this morning ,most of the north shore still very dry (extreme) and it s still prohibited to do fires .not much rain in that area since a while. groomer !!

hi mustang !! thanks !! good for you !! it ll be 5 years in august since i have my digital camera,i don t think i ve changed my pic on the desktop 5x.i still have the same one(grooming pic) since the last 2 or 3 years .ha !! ha !! first pic ,about 8 miles from my camp and the second one ,about 2.5 miles.went up a tree stand to take the pics. groomer !!!

first tourist of the season in the yard of the camp at 9 hrs 42 am this morning.i was seating at the table and saw a ''shadow '' behind trees and branches ,took the camera and started shooting through the window. went outside slowly and started to take pics again ,she went all the way around the camp.when she saw me ,she made a ''u -turn '' and went back slowly in the woods. last night ,while drinking my bottle of wine ,there was one on the other side of the brook at 7 hrs 23 pm. groomer !!!

according to some posters on the french forum ,fire was 5 miles from relais 22 .winds changed directions and it looks like they are ok (for now ) at relais 22.it has been posted during the week end . groomer!!!

while working today ,i was thinking about that .can t remember the year ,must be in the mid 80 's.i was at the lake not too far from my camp.friends told me there was a fire about 6 miles north-east of my camp and planes were coming to load on the lake .so ,in a hurry went up on a mountain between lake 8-miles and lake causapscal to see the planes .planes went to lake causapscal first ,then moved to lake 8-miles. on top of the mountain ,i was too far from the action to take pics.went back to lake 8 miles to take closer shots .so, i went to a cabin of a friend ,take a few pics there and then decided to go to another cabin on the other of the lake to have different angles.once at the other cabin ,i was looking at the lake for the planes to come back. grey sky,no winds ,no waves on the lake and light rain started ,very quiet.then ,suddently without warning ,BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooMmMmMmMmMmM,HA !! HA !!lightning struck a cedar tree about 10-12' from my truck.i turned my head on the right side in a fraction of a second and a saw a huge ball of fire at the level of the roof of the cabin. i thought the cabin was on fire .i did nt check the cedar tree ,but learned later that the tree splitted in 2 . old 35 mm pics. groomer !!!

last night at 8:12 hrs, while doing my moose run ,i had a black bear right in front of my truck.i left late ,because it was still windy .when im late like that i push a little more on the ''mushroom '' to gain time . i was going up hill with a sharp left hand side turn on top.he was right in middle of the curve .just surprised me :o .just enough time to hit the brakes .saw the bear for 10 ''.friday night ,almost at the same place ,there was 3 mooses. groomer !!!

hi denisl!! ya ,trails are open ,came back early yesterday morning from the st fidele cb.18 hrs run ,tons of snow !!! seriously ,went riding with my 4w yesterday .windy like hell and cold.i was in a clearcut and i could see far away that it snowed on mount logan and albert in the gaspesie park. i was at the same place last saturday and both mounts were more ''white '' than last saturday.fresh snow up there!! saw 5 mooses. groomer !!!

finally found those.just too bad ,colors are very sharp on those 35 mm pics.on the truck logging road,followed that bobcat for about a 1000' , walking behind him. coldsmoke ,ya ,bears must be careful with, never know what they have in mind.i always have a rifle at the camp.never used it ,just in case.alone at the camp at night ,never know what can happen . groomer !!!
