  1. Thanks for the info. Yes, I was thinking from the Mont Valins down TQ93 through Sacre-Coer to the ferry at Tadoussac. :)
  2. ADMQ site shows this section as yellow/acceptable and not green/good. Other side of ferry shows good. Any recent reports from riders? Thanks
  3. Yes, we were very lucky for sure. We arrived around 3:00 pm last Thursday 2/3. The manager was hanging around doing paperwork in the office and maybe just to help sledders out. My brothers Yammy may not have made it on gas plus he had to change a bogie wheel. The gentleman let us borrow rags, wash up and take a break inside. If we pass again this year we will carry a windshield fluid jug of gas just through that section. A good high speed run just watch the sticks on side of trail in places.
  4. This gas stop complex is for sale, gas and a few store items only, no more resto/bar or lodging. May only be open in the mornings so the afternoons/evenings are a bigger risk. We were lucky as the guy happen to stay open later the day we passed. Long run (150 miles+-) so may want to pack a windshield jug or two of gas per sled to be sure to make it.
  5. Yes, no problem anywhere on that section of the TQ83 Relais 22 - Hedwidge. Plenty of snow and grooming, no sand or rock roads. Not sure between Hedwidge and Roberval as we came on from the orange feeder trail from St-Prime. Have not heard any bad news in that area. Yes for sure Club La Tuque groomer out of Relais 22 doing a great job as there is more snow in those area. Just Do Not take TQ73S Relais 22-La Tuque, very very bad trail, low snow, logs, sticks, sand rock roads.
  6. *Update: Just went through two days ago, no problem. New bridge looks almost complete and the short trail around in the sticks is passable. Both sides of bridge groomed nicely.
  7. Sorry a little late on reply, just got back. Avoid the new TQ73 between La Tuque and Relais 22. La Tuque is very low on snow and the new trail is a disaster. Honestly even 2 feet of new snow will not help many sections of that trail. Currently it should be closed. In need of a total re-route and much more snow. I bet currently the worse trail in the entire Province.
  8. I now remember the turn after looking at the Woodrunner map. Thanks again for the info and heads up. http://www.woodrunnertrail.ca/PDF/map2009-2010.pdf
  9. Ok, I'm not clear on the Lepine Rd. vs TQ83. I will make note of it on way through this week. Thanks again Mid Range.
  10. Hi Mid Range, thanks for the info. Just to verify, bulldozer on trail 83W? Between Jct 13S/83 Parent - Clova? Thanks
  11. Yes, we often see dozens of rigs parked there, especially on weekends. Always figured it was folks going into there cabins for the weekend as well, or just out enjoying the Parc. We have never heard or seen any problems there either, just curious. Heading to the 369N Parent,Clova,Senneterre,Lebel,Chiboug,St-Felic,Relay22,La Tuque, back down the 355S. Usually start more southerly or Westerly. Just seems to be a real nice drop point to start and finish road and trail wise in a low snow year. Just hope it is not too convenient for other activities as well while we are on tour.
  12. Thanks for the info, have stayed Shawinigan/Grand Mere many times as well but maybe a little light on snow and a little to Southerly for our trip this time around.
  13. Wondering if any reports good/bad for long term truck/trailer parking at Chez Marineau Mattawin drop point? We have passed by on sleds many times for lunch/supper but never by truck. Auberge Mekinac just down road not open quite yet until Feb 10. It is on main highway, I think no corral, but the obvious of chains, cables, locks, remove relays, cover VIN sufficient for safety? Experience/opinions? Seems a really nice drop point heading North and coming back South with snow lacking in the more southern sectors this season. Thanks
  14. It states 50 KM North of Relais 22, so must be getting closer to Hedwidge area. The original post is from Thursday 1/27. I will try to pass by there next week and report back if any problems.
  15. I just read on the CIMQ forum that a bridge may be out between Roberval and Relay 22. Excavator currently there repairing. Sounds like a bypass trail next to it through the sticks but still passable.
  16. Congrats on your hunt, and yes, great photos and timing. Very rare for that "moment" for sure.
  17. I have a full sheet going in from my end. Keep them coming. Thanks again.
  18. That is great news. Of course we all hope the services never need to be utilized. Hopefully the pilot program and funding will carry over to other remote areas as well. A big Thank You from all snomobilers. Time and effort for a safe secure future to our sport is much appreciated.
  19. Wow! great pics again, love the water reflections. Yes we need more than one person on permit as well: primary shooter, secondary shooter, and I also serve as Scout, he he. Yes it is "rush Hour" for sure on all the log roads. Need to really get out into the woods, on mountains, and in swamps to see any "friends" lol. Have fun and good luck.
  20. Great pics and info as usual Groomer. Moose season opens here in VT tommorow morning and we hope to see some of your 'friends' he he. Cool weather, trail work & signage, moose season, deer seasons, early snows. Getting very excited for winter riding season to come.
  21. Thanks again for the updates Alain. Your info is much appreciated.
  22. Hi Greg and thanks for all of your great info. Does the Admdq have a different variation of the curfew petition to sign? Is it the same one that is already posted on this site at another link?
  23. Nice work Alain! It is great to remember past rides for sure. And it gets us excited for the next seasons to come. We always look forward to your great info on trail conditions and memorable pictures as well. Both you and Groomer keep us in the middle of the action, almost like being along for the ride with you.
  24. Any word on what the different clubs are doing for the new re-routes away from the Parks and Reserves? Will there be big changes this year? Are only certain regions needing to do this? Hope we do not loose any of our fragile network. Thanks
  25. Yes, looks good, no longer need to go over ice and pass by camping area leaving town. Also, lets hope this may be in preperation of the re-opening of trail 347 back to Mattawin trails? It will help business for the outfitters such as Club Odanak and Relais Chez Black for sure. Thanks for the updates and pictures.
