it was on the bras louis road that curves up towards the pipmuacan reservoir and comes south towards entrance of the zec onatchiway

passion quebec is good..i find it a pain in the ass to truck back in forth everyday, id rather be on the mountain, come back from your ride and relax instead of having to do 45 minutes of driving...

accident happened at km102 on the zec onatchiway, it was NOT a groomed trail from what i have been told

unless your doing offtrail i dont think the trails will be open up there, unless maybe the get a nice storm...

go to le valinouet ski hills website, there are plenty of people on there who rent out thier chalets and some rooms under the "hebergement section" may i recommend if you are solo trying passion quebec, they have simple rooms for rent with acces to the restaurant for food.

i wouldent recomment staying at the auverge du 31 , their rooms are badly insulated and stuck together meaning at night you hear your neighbour snoor or fart lol oh and if theres a party above in the bar gooood luck trying to get an early sleep!! plus the 31 is always trying to shut la chapelle down so i dont support them anymore...id rather stay at valinouet!

yes well i ride mont valin offtrail but the spots im talking about are in gaspesie, i could tell you where my offtrail area is but then id have to.......well you know i offer a offtrail guiding service if ever interested, possibility of renting mountain sleds or scandics,rooms etc

nope not yet still need snow down at sea level

well i went over the weekend in my offtrail areas and there was 2 feet at 1500 feet and 2-3 feet at 2500-3200 feet. down at sea level 20cms!

yea we have lots of areas here in quebec too that you can hunt for free but a "zec" are old private clubs for people that had big $$$ so back in the 70s they made these private clubs accescible to the public and is now what we call a zec, anybody can go hunting or fishing on a zec you just have to pay special fees which go towards maintenance of the "zec" like keeping main roads and secondary roads maintaned,stocking of some lakes,employees etc

ok so i just chekced with the owner of la chapelle(which is on the zec martin valin) and he called the sec martin valin and onatchiway autority and they both said when the zec is closed after moose hunting until opening in spring anybody can go offtrail where they want!!

be carefull as the trails arent groomed yet and the weekend will have a crapload of sledders, alot of guys that are anxious to try new machines and forget to drive on the right side

10-12 inches of hard pack... it depends where you are coming from, and how much you are willing to spend to ride...

trust me YES you can as long as you are not in the parc national des monts valin or on the zec onatchiway private trails(well unless you are a member) ive seen gamewardens and sq provincial police in the areas last year and asked them about it and they say its totally LEGAL...but hey what do i know im just a stupid local lol the 1;20 trak quebec topo map is AMAZINGGG..very well detailed than any other map ive seen...worth the $$
