Going West- Need advice from Iceman

Four of us have tried to tour Abitibi-Matagami twice before only to have to cancel.

Tomorrow we plan to truck sleds to Le Domaine in Gran Remous. leave Sat. AM on 63 to 386, have lunch and get gas at Relais Kitsisavik, then to stay overnight at Hotel Forestel near Val d or. Next day up west side 396 and stay at Hotel Matagami, next day down east side on 396 to a motel ( don't know the name) near Louvicort or Lac Simon, next back to trucks and home.

Comments needed!

Some of the trip may be too short. Iceman, you said you love the Oranges (2ndary trails). Which do you recommend to add a few miles each day except the last day? Some of us like to go for a night ride loop before bed. Besides, this will be the last tour for this year as local NY trails are fading fast!

Any problem with certain trails?

Thanks, Jeff

PS. Since my 2011 GSXSE will have over 17000 miles, I am spring ordering a Blizzard.

Ok

Near Forrestal in Val d'Or nice loop around town there. To get extra miles or go down some 309 and come back up nice trail.

On the way from Val D'Or to 396

Take either 313 to 93 then to 396 to Matagami. Not a lot of orange options. To play there. Most of the great orange trails are near La Sarre further west.

Is almost 200 miles this way to Matagami.

Then Matagami down 396 to 93 then to Lebel for gas. Then 93 is fast to Seneterre. And then down to Louvincourt nice too. Again not many options there for extra miles.

South of Louvincourt there is a left turn that is an Orange that goes out to join 83 you could go out that way and come back to get some bonus miles.
