  2. Well deserved recognition for Bill! https://www.ishof.com/award_edgarhetteen.html
  3. Smclelan and I always joked that sledding is not a sport to save money and it cost a buck a mile. Well I think we need to redo the formula! LOL A friend has a local crane business and here is a picture of the pump when he fueled up yesterday!
  4. Just sitting here watching the price of fuel go through the roof. Anyone want to take a guess at what we will have to pay per litre at the remote outfitters this coming season! I predict $4.00 per litre. On another note Lisa and I did a driving trip in Quebec last week and stayed at the Delta in Jonquiere one night I have to say the new Boston Pizza is a very nice addition and has an excellent atmosphere. After we drove around the Lake we stayed at the Coronet for a night sure looks different when you drive in rather than arrive on your sled! We then headed east to Havre St Pierre and of course we had to travel through the Pessamit native territory the group responsible for closing the TQ3 last season! On the return trip we had to back track all the way to St Simeon because the ferry was canceled at both Godbout and Baie Comeau and as we neared the Pessamit territory there was a guy hitchhiking with a sign that said Pessamit I did not give him a ride!
  5. Deepest condolences to you and Caroline and family.
  6. Sitting in les escoumins having a beer. Tried to sled out of here three real bad stucks in less than a kilometre. We got 60 cm of snow and high winds. Trails in the woods are ok but out in the open is a no go for fat old guys on Renegades wth saddle bags. Came back and checked back in! Lol
  7. This is from another post empty trails! "We are at the Delta. Just doesn’t seem the same without Bill around. Not just Bill though. This place is empty. Quebec trails as a whole are empty. Trails are in spectacular shape though!! Those of you that aren’t here are missing out!"
  8. Yes you would need a NB pass. In years gone by there was a trail that would lead you to Estcourt and you could cross the border there however I don't believe that trail is open anymore.
  9. When you cross at Fort Kent you are in New Brunswick and NB trail 41 will take you to Quebec RT561 or if you head east you can join the TQ85http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2022_02/659752802_FortKent.thumb.jpg.ce3e986b656bc57cd5329ce8189fa625.jpghttp://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2022_02/989316294_NB41.thumb.jpg.e6933fbc823e05752094d16670a83487.jpg.
  10. These are day trippers you won't see them in Clova. LOL
  11. Will do Chris what happened at Repos?
  12. Very few of our American friends are coming north of the border because of all the hoops to jump through due to covid. I have been in Quebec 3 times already this winter and have virtually seen no sleds. On top of the border issues there was the lockdown closing the bars and restaurants. I hope for all the outfitters and hotels relais etc that things improve for the balance of the winter. I called one of my favorite outfitters looking for Feb 19th a Saturday for my group of 6 and got booked in no problem. Other years that would never have been possible.
  13. Just curious if anyone has used the shuttle this year? With so little traffic I am worried it might not be available.
  14. Looking forward to hearing about your adventure yesterday Chris. We had a day like that 2 years ago a 12 hr day to go 109 miles!
  15. Chris I have had those days ! Glad you are safe back at JG's!
  16. Nice report Steven. You always have to be on your toes watching for Donkeys!
  17. We rode through that area this week and heading back on Monday. Good to go. Not 100% but very acceptable.
  18. Thanks Iceman. My guess on the western drop off point would be the west side of the long bridge across the Betsiamites River where the truck would lead us when we had to ride the pavement on the bridge following the 1/2 truck. The native territory stops on the east side of the river. The eastern pick up point is a mystery. Obviously east of their territory! Maybe Ragueneau?http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2021_12/Clipboard01.thumb.jpg.3464c71f6d23de18293ec98eb64ab861.jpg
  19. Anyone know the pick up points and cost? Iceman?
  20. Bill is still very active and he is heading to northern Maine again this winter.
