  2. Read it 𝗣𝗿𝗲̀𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝟬𝟬𝟬 $ 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼-𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗮 𝗧𝘂𝗾𝘂𝗲 🌨️ 🏔️ ⛄ On behalf of myself and the Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Geneviève Guilbault - MNA for Louis-Hébert, I am proud to announce an investment of $278,096 in the Club moto-neige La Tuque Inc. to improve infrastructure for off-highway vehicle (OHV) use and enhance safety. With a budget of nearly $3 million, the program has supported numerous projects since its inception, including the construction of footbridges and the redevelopment of trails. In the case of the Club latuquois, we're talking about $41,250 to repair the bridge at the Lac Vic outlet; $129,971 to replace the multifunctional footbridge at Parc des Chutes in La Tuque; and $106,875 to rebuild the bridge at Lac Gros-Louis. The Club has enjoyed a great reputation for 55 years. Its volunteers maintain over 580 km of trails with the help of five groomers. I would like to pay tribute to the dedication of the seven-member Board of Directors and to Claude Gagnon (photo), who has been President for 12 years. The projects that will result from this announcement will enable us to take concrete action on safety for the benefit of users of this trail network. Many thanks to the many volunteers.
  3. Nice stuff ❤️👍
  4. 👍❤️
  5. Love it! Too damn warm though. Enjoy it while it lasts.
  6. Hello snowmobilers Following the deterioration of several sections and the closure of the clubs around us, we are no longer grooming the trails, except for the 23 to L’etape from the Lesage relay and the 73 between the Marmitte and the Jeanotte.
  7. Amos Club Hello everyone, With the warmer temperatures of recent days, trail conditions have deteriorated considerably. We've observed the presence of water in some places on the trails, as well as the appearance of snowmelt obstacles such as rocks and tree stumps. Given the state of the trails and the uncertain weather conditions for the coming week, we have preventively closed all trails on our territory for an indefinite period. The club will be closely monitoring weather and trail conditions over the coming days. We don't rule out the possibility of opening the trails again if the weather allows resurfacers to get out and restore the trails to an acceptable condition. Please note that although the trails are closed, vehicles other than snowmobiles are still not allowed on the trails. Thank you for your understanding, we hope more than anything that the trails don't deteriorate too much and that the weather conditions allow us to continue the season.
  8. North of l’etape. From club motoneigeistes lac st jean Hello dear members Due to exceptional circumstances and the appearance of a large body of water on trail 23 this morning, Réserve Fauniques des Laurentides, we are obliged to close trail 23 for safety reasons. As a result, the Mont Apica relay will be closed for the rest of the season. We apologize for this dramatic ending, but your safety is at stake. The directors thank you for your understanding and for your many visits to our relay this winter. Thank you to all the volunteers, snowmobilers and all those who work hard to make our trails beautiful for you. Thank you management
  9. Club in Val d’or We did a trail test with our surfacers on Monday, March 17, and many streams, ditches and wetlands were full of water. So we temporarily closed our trails on IMotoneige as a safety measure for our snowmobilers. We're keeping an eye on the weather and hope, like you, that Mother Nature will give us a few more weeks in our 2025 season!
  10. The FCMQ aims to cut 5,000 kilometers of trail from its overall network over the next 5 years. The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ) is planning to cut back on the maintenance of thousands of kilometers of trails across the province. However, the general manager reassures us that it will be up to the clubs to decide. The FCMQ plans to withdraw some 5,000 kilometers of trail from the provincial circuit over the next five years, in order to "face the music", according to General Manager Stéphane Desroches. "It's not the Federation that's going to come in and tell the clubs to close this or that trail. We're here to support them in the challenges they face year after year, and it's up to the clubs to decide," he says from the outset. All trails in the province could be affected, whether regional, local or provincial. Desroches illustrates the situation with a question of ridership on trails that may be less used in the network. "If there's no more local traffic, who's going to pay for trail maintenance? An issue every second Stéphane Desroches is constantly on the lookout for provincial and regional issues relating to club financing and survival. "I have one every second," he remarks humorously. He sums it up by talking about declining membership numbers, hard-to-find money for both the FCMQ and its clubs, and volunteerism that's no longer adapted to today's market. When I hold regional meetings and meet the gang, I present them with figures that hurt," he explains. I have no choice but to come down to reality, and I have no choice but to talk about money. It's extremely expensive to keep this 33,000-kilometre network in good condition. Keeping our heads above water The FCMQ wants to raise the awareness of clubs that spend a lot of money to maintain trails for a very short time. "That's what we're going to have to talk about, and we're going to have to sit down together and work along those lines," announces Mr. Desroches. Still with a view to "tidying up", the FCMQ is not ruling out the possibility of building new trails in areas where there is more snow, to the detriment of regions that have seen their snow cover diminish over the years. "The economic situation means that the government won't give us an extra envelope to create new trails. Together, we're one big family, and we're going to have to make collective decisions," reminds the general manager. The FCMQ says it wants to keep its head above water and continue to support its clubs as things move forward. North Shore (cote nord) Although it's a little early in the process, the general manager is reassuring about the Côte-Nord region, which has its own particularities and a fairly linear path compared to other regions of Quebec. "There's a long trail along the Côte-Nord and it goes from one shore to the other. If you compare it to regions like Abitibi, where there are three Trans-Québec trails that go all the way around the region, there's definitely more to cut back on in those corners," illustrates Stéphane Desroches. However, the general manager notes that the provincial government's willingness to invest in energy on the Côte-Nord could bring its share of complications. "Will we soon have to reanalyze the network because of the government's desire to put a lot of money into sustainable energy with dams?" he questions. "There might be problems building bridges that cost millions. We'll have to analyze the network and see what we want to do at that level," says Stéphane Desroches.
