Thanks, see you in the am!!
Quebec Bob,
I have your old BC up North of Chibugamu today. Left Val'Dor yesterday morning at 10 AM and rode to Obju-Chibugamu for last night. Had and invite to eat an evening meal with them as they has a festival so we decided to nun north and come back to eat tonight. Tried to get up to Mittissinni today but did not make it. Over a foot of fresh snow and very windy like 30 mph+ today so drifting was insane. Turned around and followed logging roads and pipelines back down to Chibugamu and got a late lunch at 3. Went back the local trail and used GPs to find off trail mountain riding for several hours now at Marina Chibugamu for the night. First time here but nice place.

Today 3/9 we headed for Capissit lodge in Oujé-Bougoumou. The 93 from La Dore to about 20 miles past the mill was rather bumpy, not the usual excellent trail I have come to expect out of it. From then on it got better and after the old Barrie du Nord relais all was excellent again the rest of the way here. Had supper at the sports complex here because the cook didn’t show up at the lodge so the restaurant was closed....Oh well this place is awesome!
Is that the sign off 93 behind the clubhouse? Never went up and plan to for Thursday night. I see the trail goes behind the club house.

Is there a need to reserve here or just ride in? Parking in Val-d'or Thursday morning after driving up from PA overnight. 3 guys and we just keep switching off driving. Never stayed here but have stayed in Chib many times.

Headed up that way on Thursday. Not sure how far we will get with the rain coming. Have 4 days to ride and plan to park truck at Forestal. CAPISSISIT LODGE is in Ouje bigamau. Have you ever stayed there? Orange trail to lake so I assume you just cross the lake. Maybe after your trip up there you can message me if you want to?

Just rode thru there 2 weeks ago and did not see any activity at all. Just lodging and food?

I've been told they started staking Baskatong last saturday. Give them a call. They are in charge of staking the Baskatong crossing.
I am sorry but I cant seem to use this link and i cant find anything in Google

Is the lake frozen? I assumed so but I am seeing some of the southern lakes are not safe yet per Facebook pages.

Thanks. Was going to ride east further but saw the free weekend is this weekend. Staying FAR away from the popular areas. LOL

I saw they are under construction or something. Can you still park there and ride?
-
Also we will need to buy 3 day passes so where can I get them in La Tuque? Mike

Schedule didn't allow us to ride in Quebec till next weekend. Was planning to park at St Raymond but the warm temperatures will not be good for the town. Where is a good place to park in La Tuque? Will want to head to Mt Valin and north shore or if that's not good will head north on 93 to chib

Looking to park somewhere in St Raymond for a short 3 day ride. Where is the best place to park and where can I buy trail passes? Did not buy yearly pass this year......Have not been thru St Raymond for 10 plus years so kinda lost. Plan to head east on 3. Is there a better place to park? Want to miss Quebec City so thought we would go to Letape and down 369 to skip Quebec City. Thanks for advice. Mike

If its groomed from Le Domainie north and west its not far from Le Classic to Le Domaine. Several riders posted that it will give you a memory you don't want to remember. LOL
-
That is correct but east from their to Le Classic is beat from what I hear

Has anyone started from the South end of 43? Coming from PA tonight and was planing to start from Le Classic but everyone is saying 63 has not been touched for a month due to groomer operator issues. Rapides-des-Joachims is the town name. Where do I park? Tried several of the motels today and no answer so far.

i would call La Verendre lodge closer to your depart date to see if its been resolved otherwise it won’t be a memorable trip in the way you want
just my 2c
I have been watching the comments on here. The past few times we drove to Hotel Forestal to start our trips but thought we would save the extra 2 hour drive this time. Thanks

Chic Choc Mountains area
in Gaspe Peninsula

We ride in Idaho in the backcountry. As all know, the snow is low here on the east coast with MT Valin being the only place for summits w/3". Can anyone send me to the correct contacts about the Chic Chocs?
We plan to be visiting an outfitting friend of ours in Allagash Maine in 2 weeks and are thinking of driving to Gaspe to ride the Chic Chocs. So any forums or phone numbers would be great! Thank you in advance
