  1. The Lepine road is one of my top 3 rides. I try to hit it every season. When I came down it last weekend I noticed the loggers are all the way up to km 106. The pensive is at km 57. I think the Lepine will not be a viable option for the next 2 or 3 years. Hopefully when the work is done it will include a new bridge at the top. The old red steel one is in sad shape. Ideally it would be nice to run it from top to bottom, straight from Clova to Grand Remous, bypassing the new one pictured above. If and when this does happen, maybe the members here will be smart enough to support Dominic. I seem to remember not long ago reading about the Tabarnak being the best food and rooms in Clova, and how much we missed them. Hypocritical to say how much we love the Lepine road, but say we miss the Tabarnak. Granted they were nice people, and I wish them the best. We would swing in for a drink every time, but spend the bulk of the money at Dominic's. This rant is not directed at you Doonali. It is a purely economic statement to the guys that miss the grooming on the Lepine. How would you like it to spend over $10k to watch the neighbor ride your coat tail for free?
  2. Checking trail conditions. Lepine was groomed last week.
  3. Jeff...you sound so hard done by with only 9700 on your blizzard...lol. You might have to drive a little further than usual to find the groomed stuff next weekend.
  4. Sorry about that Jack. I am guilty of aiding and abetting...lol. great gaspe trip
  5. No questions asked...thats funny. On a Thursday night at the central in SMDS I bet you could find someone to take you up on that deal...
  6. I met that same groomer at 11 am on Wednesday March 7th. I know they post signs clearly noting the 24 hr grooming operations, however it is ridiculous to groom that particular section during the day. The hills between Baie Comeau and Godbout are dangerous. That specific run is less than 60 miles long. It should be criminal to run it with a groomer during the day. The day I met him I was lucky to be on the bottom between two hills, when I looked up and saw him crest the hill in front of me I thought of how lucky I was to not be any closer. The worst part about it was the trail was in immaculate condition and was not in need of any grooming. The driver is padding his wallet with club funds at the risk of our lives. After seeing the sticker on top of the windshield of the groomer now I have confirmed that he is an idiot. I understand the difficulties that maintaining a trail system involves, but come on...use your head before you kill someone.
  7. 597 the following day was a different story
  8. You had better weather than us in MSP
  9. The cops might not like it much, but trying to get across that road during the morning rush left me with few options
  10. Kanawata and repos are both gas only now
  11. I use the pedestrian crosswalk button, it halts traffic in all directions.
  12. The quality inn up in Sept isles may have nicer rooms, but the comfort inn is much easier to get into.
  13. Last weekend we did our final blast for the season. Weekend run in Les Hautes Laurentides. Trails were great, traffic was non existent and the weather was perfect.
  14. Watch "The Universal Hot vs Crazy Matrix - a Man's Guide to Women" on YouTube
  15. We went this route. No real feedback yet. Dropped them down for 10kms to make sure they worked. Seems like a good fit so far. OTTP ice storm
  16. I would agree that perhaps it has something to do with breeding season. I pulled up and they were in that same position of the picture. I radioed to my wife to pull up next to me so she could see them as well. As she pulled up they walked onto the woods. We sat there for a minute observing them. Then they must have decided we were no threat so they returned to the trail. That is when I captured the picture.
  17. Saw these cats hanging around Louvicourt.
  18. The thought crossed my mind to run them wide open, but then I came back to reality. I would hate to be a contributing factor in a head on collision. Not to mention that my 1200 is a few ponies short of a turbo Yammy. I remember this occurred in the same area a few years ago, funny part us that the culprits were residents of the same area. Let's remember to act as visitors in paradise rather than idiots in Quebec for the 1st time when we travel. Nothing makes me cringe more than hearing: "Criss d'Americain" when traveling up north. Let's try to respect one another for a change
  19. I would like to send them across the pond... Maybe they need britt stickers. Billy and Danny are second cousins....lol Correction to my original post. Passed on the left....i was going 70 mph at the time.
