  1. My vote is certianly for the 144". I have had two Arctic Cats with 144", however the last two winters I have been running a 137" 1200 Renegade. I believe after a long day of riding the 144" is better on an old back (we are about the same vintage), even on groomed trails. That said the Yamaha fuel range is terrible with such a small tank. My Renegade I can easily go 120 miles with any worries, and have gone 140 miles and had 4 liters left. You appear to be a Yamaha fan so no slam intened at all, just a comparison. I think your best bet would be the 144" and a pre-studded track (less wieght).
  2. Just think about the children when you go through the Res on the way home!!
  3. Good Stuff!! Our very own QuebecRider reporter right at the starting line. Keep us updated. Anything left from the Res??
  4. I started off strong and then the second half of the season fell apart for me. 4100 miles or 6598 kilometers. Everyone always hopes for better. Congrats Bill on another year of 10,000 miles.
  5. I have the mechanical reverse on mine and had the handle broke where it hooks to the linkage. There was likely 9500 miles on the sled at that point, so it had been used many times.
  6. Sounds like it was a great trip and good pictures.
  7. Thanks for sharing a good reality check. Good Luck to your friends.
  8. revct1 has a very good idea. Saguenay Bill stays at the Hotel Sayuenay and day trips everyday. I am sure he would be happy to lead you around his Paradise for a few days!
  9. Some of the people on our trip didn't need much wine!!
  10. Glad your trip went well with your son, coming to Quebec will certianly help grow his passion for the sport. Next lesson for him: cutting bushes and putting up signs! LOL It was good to meet you and put a face to the Username.
  11. Glad you had a good trip and I could offer a little advice. Looks like your weather was very good from the pictures. I bet you will be back!
  12. Looks like an excellent trip!!
  13. If in doubt, call at noon to where you hope to be at the end of the day.
  14. Good advice Bill, this way they can keep their rooms and leave the saddlebags behind.
  15. My friend there is nothing lost in the translation, you are a true diplomat. You have a good eye and can see a pretty picture but have clearly identified what real value would look like! Salute My Friend .
  16. Hmmm Another Funny Guy!! .
  17. A great time was had by all, lots of laughs for sure. A shot just North of Carleton along the local trail on the way to the Gathering Saturday morning just before starting on the ride. Up at the Ski Hill At the Radar Tower Jean Guy be sure and thank your club president and all involved for letting us pretty much take the clubhouse over for two days. We could not have been treated better, and the food was delicious! .
  18. I left from your town and back all the way to the cable bridge, it was great. I would wait till after the weather tomorrow.
  19. Your a funny guy!!!!
  20. Stay right on the TQ5, the clubhouse is right on the trail, rerouted through the yard in fact. See you there Friday
  21. Groomer was saying he had charging problems with the Sur Trac (his groomer), the orange one is the one used for grooming the other half of his clubs trail system. I suspect he is using it till his gets repaired. He said he was going to have a nap! Wow that fellar is always on the couch!! Hope he has the trails in shape for the end of the week.
  22. Just add a post saying "Sold".
  23. As a friend said to me one time " I would rather be looking at it than for it"!! I have one on my BVs2, but seldom plug it in. However the cord is always in my pocket when I do need it and never miss any driving because of vision. A very small cost when you think about going out on a cold morning and having to stop because of frosting up. My $0.02 worth.
  24. That is a better speed! LOL You better get rested up for next weekend, looks like it will be a big one!!
  25. Slow that thing down!! 6-8mph is the proper speed for grooming. No "jumping" with the drag!! We want flat, smooth, hard trails!!! See you in a week. Make sure you have a nice bottle of wine for us to drink!!
