  1. What do you after buying a new side by side?? Go for a ride in the Gaspesie of course. I have never ridden the ATV trails in the Gaspe before and figured it could be as good as snowmobiling. The Girlfriend and I decided to do a quick 4 day tour just to judge travel times and distances before planning a bigger trip. We started in Amqui and rode to Grande Nature the first night. We soon discovered it is easy to cover ground and travel speeds were faster then I expected. The second night we rode to Mont Louis and stayed at L'Marre, an excellent spot with and outside patio bar with a view of the St Lawrence. Third night back to Grande Nature, then back to the truck. Here are a few pictures of our adventure, many will look familiar. Likely only 1/3 of the trip was on sled trails, the rest all new country. Some of the pictures did not load right, but you get the jist of it. I don't think we would have been able to make the trip 2 weeks sooner, would have been too much snow. http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230609_140626.jpeg.thumb.jpg.046bfa01bd03bb5c5dabc63a570f857c.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230609_140306.jpeg.e7e16c35ccf7ade7345e309d90d57428.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230611_093202.thumb.jpeg.2cb4e868243eb6618b05d11291c65b48.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230611_120528.thumb.jpeg.e9163f9b5dee67ce37543b04787a9d8a.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230609_135715.thumb.jpeg.15cb6921441edcd2f85f93882fed03c5.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/20230609_130857.thumb.jpg.684416dd2cd69ccc1eec9f676b18758c.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/20230609_103257.jpg.94dcf63ce3d4774281e7e3d1a9337ec2.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/20230608_141311.thumb.jpg.91cbffe2403d08063224ebbd1b97b884.jpg
  2. True, something does not add up. A portion of the FCMQ permit is supposed to cover liability insurance, this should not land on club.
  3. Just did some quick math on the numbers Iceman shared on fire sizes. 93,518 hectares or 230,989 acres!! That is just the area for the fires that listed burn areas, most did not include area. Just read a CBC new article that says 460,000 ha / 1,136,200 acres so far this year have burned.
  4. Wow amazing pictures. Talked to a friend in Sept Iles Saturday, things were very smoky and tense there.
  5. Hoping they get rain soon, mother nature is the only way to slow these big fires down.
  6. Watching fires in Quebec closely. We are getting some help from Mother Nature here in Nova Scotia today, it has been a hellish week here. Over 200 structures in one fire and 50,000 acres in another. Hoping Quebec has some help with rain soon!
  7. Very sad when someone trying to save the lives of others becomes a victim.
  8. There are gas stations along the trail that don't show up on the app. I understand that a station likely has to pay to be there but it would be nice for planning The app tends to route you the shortest way, sometime we want to go the longer route. Maybe a button to turn off shortest route.
  9. You have lots of blowdowns. You will not have to go far this year for firewood. You don't often get much help, a lot of work to get that all cleaned up.
  10. Looks like it would be tough chewing in places, lots of snow. Hope you can make it to the cabin soon.
  11. Nice pics as always. St Alexandre, is that the one outside Amqui where they built the glass bottom viewing platform?
  12. Holy Crap Batman you still have a lot of snow! We were out on the new bike this weekend. No snow on the low lands, very little in the hills. Great moose pics!
  13. I am glad to see you watermarking all your pictures. I have been out with you many times when your taking pictures and understand how hard you work to get the few pictures you feel are good enough to share with your friends. You deserve all the credit for these. Thank you again for sharing them.
  14. Happy Birthday Mon Ami. You are older then me again. LOL Some really nice pictures. We have missed your pics.
  15. Awesome!
  16. Pretty high end resort, +/- $300 per night.
  17. Iceman is right, they have a gate up at the mouth of their road to keep our kind out. LOL It has a high end non motorized clientele.
  18. HCS that is certianly a while back.
  19. Awesome you are still finding really good spots. Hope tomorrow is great too! Don't be scared to share pictures. LOL
  20. The orange trail are usually the hidden jems.
  21. I have rode that trail 4-5 times, luckily enough groomed to perfection every time. Awesome trail.
  22. Sounds like your crew had a great ride. It would certianly be special to have your grandson along fo sure. I always like it when you meet other QR members on trips and can put a face to the username. I rode Trail 150 back in February it is a awesome trail and takes you away from the Pin Rouge area and heavy deer populations. Thanks for sharing.
  23. I have also heard good reviews about Auberge Garre. Have eaten at the Stela twice both times it was excellent. Both places are right beside the trail.
  24. Great detail and pictures Jeff. You make us jealous going for a month non stop. One thing about snowmobiling, you can always count on is changes. You highlighted that in a few places. Thanks for sharing with QuebecRider. Have a great summer on the water.
  25. It is great to see you back posting on QuebecRider. Many readers have missed your very informative day by day updates and critiques of lodging and food. I had never heard of the Train Cars in Bristol, thanks for sharing. My group experienced Aubergue L Amarre a couple weeks back. Definitely on the list of places to stay now. Keep up posting, I can't help but to think one highlites is just around the corner.t Great to read your updates again. Steven
