  1. I will keep trying them and keep fingers crossed as we really would feel better having them than not Gary
  2. Yes timbo, thats the one we have been trying to order from but even the on-line order form is not showing now. Pat has e-mailed Christine Collett early in August and got a reply from her but since then nothing. They had a note on the web-site saying they were moving but even that is gone now and they do not answer their phones either. A guy on the dootalk.com forum was having the same trouble too. Just wondered if they were another company in trouble due to this recession. Shame we really wanted those communicators. Gary
  3. I know it's a long time since this thread was started but I just found it and made my wife read all the posts as well. Thank's to all of you for such helpful info. Your all experienced riders and we two only get to enjoy this wonderful sport for a couple of weeks each year (our 5th this year) so any info we can get is great for us. We always try to use hand signals though Pat has discovered that this is not easy for her when attempting to take a corner at the same time (I say no more!). We dearly wanted the Collett Communicators but wonder if Collett are no longer in business as their phones and e-mails are not answered. There was a note on their webside to say that they were moving but that has now gone. Does anyone know anything about them please? Gary
  4. That is just one priceless picture. I am going to try and print that off and put it on my wall ! Gary :D
  5. Great photo's everybody - not so sure about the bear though! We don't have things like that here in the U.K. We will definately try to be there at the next gathering Bill. As comparitively new snowmobilers any information we can gleen from 'experts' is always welcome. Gary & Pat
  6. Bill, sounds like you all had a great time. All being well, we will plan the weekend into our schedule next year to make sure we can come too, all the way from the U.K ! Would be good to see some pic's if anybody took some. Gary and Pat
  7. Bill, I'm sure we have been past this but can't think where. Gary
  8. Don't suppose you could make that when we actually come out Bill ? Gary & Pat
  9. And they said it wouldn't last Bill !! Looks like we got a bit of belated celebrating to do when we see you! Gary :D
  10. Already said it on another thread Bill, but once again 'Happy Birthday' and many more of them. Gary & Pat
  11. Oh Bill, if only!!! Happy Birthday for Monday by the way.
  12. Your continued support in spreading the word of the AdmdQ opportunity and recommending membership to all QR’s is invited. I believe that Saguenay Bill signed up 24 new members at his HI kiosk this winter. Great work Sir, glad that you had a super season. Thank you! The voice of Quebec Snowmobilers Greg Saguenay Bill will be signing up another two when we see him in NH in October - so we will possibly be the furthest away members after all. Gary & Pat Nottinghamshire U.K.
  13. Greg, this sounds good especially to us. My wife and I first 'came to snowmobiling' in 2003 on a dog-sledding adventure holiday from the U.K. We wern't keen on the ds but fell in love with snowmobiling and beautiful Quebec region. We have had 5 holidays in the Saguenay area now and totally agree with you regarding several points about renting tourist's such as ourselves. Our first two holidays were lucky enough to be guided and instructed by an amazing man called Jean-Claude Leduc, from Jonquiere, who is sadly no longer with us. He instilled all aspects of safety into us continually. As you can imagine coming all the way from U.K. plus having to rent everything, including a guide, when we get there is a very expensive holiday for us and we would welcome any sort of concession for long distance tourists. We have quite a few friends who love the idea of what we do but it is just to expensive for them to give it a try. Also I am in total agreement with you that more training is necessary for renting tourists, especially regarding road crossings. Our thanks also go to Saguenay Bill who is a never ending source of information at the HI. Gary
  14. Nice idea Mike. Could you make that next time we are there from the U.K. Gary
  15. Hi Bill Just to let you know that I have joined Gary to the site so we can keep and eye on whats going on in the Snomowbiling world even if we can not be there as often as you and some of the others are. Thanks to you and JD for helping to make it a good holiday for us, James & Duncan a few weeks ago. Look forward to being back on the trails as soon as we can Pat & Gary, U.K.
