  1. Ginger and I had a his and hers sleds. Ginger will have to ride your orange X when I'm around just to keep up the tradition. In reality, Ginger is safe, I'm keeping the 900 another year. Unless the lotto is good to me.
  2. Ray, I'm getting the orange 850, so pick another color. I have been waiting for a Moto Ski revival sled now for like 45 years. mike
  3. For those of us done for the winter, it is good to hear the stories of those still riding. Thanks! mike
  4. Beautiful pictures and what a big mile day on a two up sled. The rivers look like they are capturing the melting snow. Thank you for posting your trip. mike
  5. And a great job you did with the reports. Lots of snow. All depends on the weather, which isn't looking promising. Personally, I would not chance it with the couple days of rain and showers in the forecast. But I am just guessing. Did half day today and trails were outstanding. Group just back from Amqui said it was amazing. mike
  6. When BJ goes to Quebec and gets to the border, he could show her picture instead of a passport!
  7. So another season ends and home tomorrow. Riviere du Loup treated me to another season of great trails. And so many stopped by to say hi, or have a drink or meal together, or a ride together. I enjoyed every minute. The province and its people pulled through again as a warm inviting place with such citizens that I wish they were my neighbors. Their laughter and love of life makes for loud festive and welcoming visits to their club houses. Regardless of politics, the Quebec people are so excited their premier is meeting this week with our president. It is much talked about with great hope for our two countries. And lastly, at la Cage au Sports a few nights ago for supper, the Canadian anthem was sung on TV prior to the start of a hockey game. The very large crowd at the restaurant all joined singing loudly and with great spirit. They truly know they live in a special place. Mike
  8. Was great getting to spend time with you too, Tom. Quite a few people I know were at the hotel this week. A few of us Quebecriders had dinner and drinks together Thursday night and are doing the same again tonight. Valarie is off to Mexico so haven't seen her this week. Another bartender just returned from Nicaragua and another I think from Cuba. They get a good chuckle when I tell them I like vacationing in Quebec.
  9. Half the fun of winter is reading everyone's trip stories. Yours, Tom, are always great. mike
  10. Snow is unreal and lots of it. It was tough trying to stay with those 'youngsters' on the trail. I may be better off seeing if they can keep up with me at the bar. Heading home Sunday, hope to meet up with both of you more next year. mike
  11. Easterly loop today, 250 miles of perfect trails and midwinter conditions. Rode part way with legends of the trails, EddieSkiDoo, SkiDoo421 and Curtis.
  12. That is good to know that there is hope. I went through there in 2010 and it still looks like it hasn't changed at all six years later. mike
  13. I can't believe that area never came back with tree growth or plant life. So sad.. mike
  14. Think I'll miss meeting up. I am going home Sunday morning. mike
  15. Jim, Maybe its time to tow a sleigh on your trips what with all the gear you carry. mike
  16. The four hours of vey light rain last evening didn't even hardly take away any of the 3 inches of snow that fell in the morning. Riding conditions today were very nice. Looks like a little more rain may have fallen about 60 miles west of RDL, couple puddles in trail and couple swollen streams. Also rode south down to trail 35 and around to 544 before returning to the#85 rail bed. All very nice. mike
  17. Since 5:00 pm, light rain. Been hanging at 31-21 ^F, hoping higher ground not far away is fairing better. mike
  18. DUI, OUI, DWI is all the same. Just called different names over the years. There can be different levels, for instance most convictions in the states are misdemeanors, but some can be felonies if death or serious injury involved. third offense, etc. mike
  19. 4:30 pm and nothing has fallen from the skies all day. Feels about mid thirties F. Very dark and cloudy out. I should have ridden today. But, the message was outstanding. mike
  20. 6:15 AM, about three inches of wet snow fell overnight, just now changing over to a very light freezing rain/almost rain. mike Few minutes after posting, it stopped. Now just cloudy out. There is hope!
  21. Thanks Jack, always so good to see you and Sandy. Disappointed the bar was so full Saturday that we could not socialize. By the way, you have me hooked on checking the grooming map every day! mike
  22. I hate seeing those 'stuck' pictures. I know its a lot of work getting unstuck. Hope to see you again sometime. mike
  23. Holy crap, Jim, whoever said 'a bad day of sledding is better than a good day at work' obviously hasn't ridden with you. What an adventure. Retrieving your sled in the middle of the night, loading it alone onto a toboggan, getting stuck on a bridge, driving on the ice road, driving all night. I invite you and your wife next year to stay in RDL at the Universal. Your truck will be right outside your door. You will never be further than 125 miles from the hotel doing day trips from the hotel. Each night you will relax in the hot tub, get a message, and walk a couple hundred feet to dinner via a warm hallway. You will walk next door to the store and get a jug of wine. You can drive to some of the fine area restaurants. You will be stress free. BUT, you will be like me, not too many stories to write about. mike
