dooboy
Need trail advice. How far it it from where you cross the st. Lawrence in Levi to the Holiday Inn in Jonquiere? What trail # is best? thanks dooboy
revct1
Hi Dooboy, It is a long day from Levi (St Nicolas) on the south side of the river to the Holiday Inn, Jonquiere. We have done it but it is a long day. If you can transport the night before and stay on the north side of the river, the ride to the Holiday Inn would be shorter. Figure about an hour to transport which includes the loading and unloading of the sleds. I think the price is $26 per sled this year. The transport sleeps on the north shore so you have to wait for it to drive to the south shore. We used to stay at the Chateau Lac Beauport which was north of Quebec City on trail 369 and ride to the Holiday Inn. That was a good day of about 200 miles. Since then, the Chateau Lac Beauport has closed and trail 369 was closed for at least one year. It shows on the map again so it may be open this year. We haven’t rode it lately. Trail 369 is one option. The other trail is 23 out of St Raymond. This is another good day 200 miles or so. If 23 is groomed, it is a nice ride and fairly quick. If you have not made this run in the past, gas up in St Raymond because there aren’t any gas stops on 23 until you reach L’Etape. If you take 369, gas up at the beginning near trial 3 in Quebec City. You can get gas in Stoneham just above Lac Beauport but the station is a few miles off of 369 on a cul de sac. Then gas at L’Etape. From L’Etape, most sleds can reach the Lac St Jean area for the next gas. Jack & Sandi :D

mikerider
Generally we can make the St. Lawrence to the «holiday inn in about 6 or 7 hours. We have done from Jackman Maine to the HI in a day, including the transport across the St. Lawrence. Mike
