reraut
Wanted to share with you fellow Quebec riders my experience in abitibi. Left Timmiscaming Thursday Feb 18. rode to Quevillion via the 93 through Duperquet up through Tashereau Barrutte bypassed Senneterre and straight up to Quevillion. Fast flat no traffic to speak of. Approx 680 kms. Next day up to Chibougamou via Miquelen. Absolutely The best trail system in the world. Flat fast rolling hills 160kms railline with one to two stop signs and the ability to run at 150 to 160 kms per hour for an hour. Got to the nordic approx 270kms. Left Chib. at 6.15 am Waiting for 7.00 am in chapais for gas. Got to Miquelin at 8.35 am to find out he doesn,t open on Saturday untill 10.00 am. He showed up at 9.30 am. Left went back across the 93 to the amos split. Went south on the (don,t quote me the trail number) 309 through Lacorne and Lamotte to the valdor split. Took the 83 through malarctic Caddilac etc to Royann noranda. All and all not bad Was a little punched in the valdor area and going west on the 83 but have ridden that corridor at times alot worse. Approw kms 680 kms. Sunday rode back down to Timmiscaming Arrived at the truck 1.30 p.m. Approx kms 250 kms. All in all 8 out of ten. Virtually no traffic lots of grooming flat fast great experience. I am sorry for not giving trail numbers but have not used a map in this area for atleast 8 years. We come up average of 6 times a year. Bottom line there is no better in Quebec, The trail system is second to none. Get up there. Snow depth is adequate although they are down like everywhere. Safe riding. Je me souviens
Thanks for the info. It's not the most common area to talk about. I have been eye-balling the map of that area for a few months now, I think that your report convinced me that the season ender should take me to that region. Got any pics we can look at? Thanks. Not my favorite area to ride in Quebec, but these are what I believe to be the flattest, fastest and widest trails you can find in Quebec. I was there 3 years ago and had a very nice experience. Any body who goes there will not be disapointed.
