smclelan
I seems to me that motel rooms are a little harder to find in Quebec this season. The group I usually travel with started planning our big winter trip about a month ago, we thought we would book some of our rooms ahead in our destinations. To our dismay some of the places we hoped to stop on certain nights had already been sold out. This was a bad thing for us, it seems from reading posts on the board others are running into the same problem. This in my opinion is a good sign that snowmobile tourist traffic may be up this year over the past few. More consistent bookings will help keep the places we like to frequent stronger financially, we have lost too many places in the last 8years. 600IQHO
I dont know why all the rooms are booked. Last season on 2 different nights we could not get a room but in the morning there were very few cars or snowmobiles parked at these locations. I could not understand why the rooms were not available when there was nobody there!!
viper2
Last year in Chibougamau we couldn't get a room at the Nordic yet there were no sleds there. What I got out of it was they were out of town workers doing the logging on the railbed, same thing in Lebel sur Quevillion
