iceman
The ecoSentier® program HomeThe ecoSentierMDC program is what? What's this ? EcoSentier® is: A program developed by environmental experts in consultation with the snowmobile industry, trail users and community organizations; Certification with normative requirements and environmentally friendly practices; Increased protection for the natural environment and local communities; The assurance that each certified trail has been verified by an independent non-profit organization, Nature-Action Québec. The ecoSentier® voluntary environmental certification program offers environmental recognition of trails that have not only implemented the practices required by existing environmental regulations for snowmobile trails, but also environmental best practices that go beyond that - Optimal trails. The ecoSentier® program was developed in close collaboration with partners - trail makers, users and representatives of the public interest. The Quebec Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (FCMQ) and Nature-Action Québec (NAQ), a not-for-profit organization recognized for the quality of its environmental services, created the program in 2015. Since then, FCMQ has managed it Throughout Quebec, while NAQ acts as a certification body (third party). Snowmobile trails The ecoSentier® certification is an opportunity for the snowmobile club to improve the level of environmental management of Trans-Québec trails (13,687 kms in 2015), to guarantee uniformity and consistency and to obtain a certificate issued by Independent body (third party). Snowmobile EcoSentier® certification is a reliable, third-party verified tool that helps snowmobilers choose an environmentally friendly snowmobile trail. Standardization Process EcoSentier® applies a globally recognized process of standardization. The program objectively verifies the quality of environmental measures applied to a snowmobile trail. The ecoSentier® Independent Auditor ensures that the trail meets the program's requirements (regulated obligations and good environmental practices), based on four main criteria: planning, development, trail maintenance and waste management. The program's requirements are based on best practices currently available, based on recommendations from Quebec industry experts and specific programs for snowmobile trails. Federation and participating clubs The FCMQ is proud to participate in the ecoSentier® certification program, making it a key component of its Sustainable Development Action Plan (SDAP) launched in 2010. A total of 200 snowmobile clubs will be invited to implement or are in the process of implementing the ecoSentier® program requirements on a voluntary basis. vt_bluyamaha54
