  1. Excellent! Take care of yourself and thanks. Looking forward to seeing you guys up here in the other hemisphere and doing some riding.
  2. I understand completely.
  3. Yes I am familiar with the cable lock thing looped thru sled. Love that they provide such a service. However, maybe it is just me but I'm chaining up and using whatever they got. Just feel more confident about it.
  4. No compounds that I know of in that area of Mont Laurier or Maniwaki. Now, I am not used to day trips out and back to the same place, usually we are moving on. That said the area there I pass through when I need to and that's about all I know. IF the snow co-operates the area sure has lots of nice day loops looking at the map. It's certainly different than Abitibi and the super highway trails of the west. Just go to Maniwaki to Auberge du Draveur. Lock your sleds at night and just take precautions with your rigs. That is all i got to say about that. How long was it for you to get to Val d'Or by truck last year? Just curious. 3.5-4 hrs is nothing most guys on here are driving alot more hours than that to get to their favorite starting points. More windshield time is not always a bad thing. Go all the way or don't go. Best of luck with whatever you choose.
  5. In town here http://www.choicehotels.ca/en/comfort-inn-mont-laurier-hotel-cn663?promo=gglocalcaen or https://www.bestwestern.com/en_US/book/hotel-details.67024.html?iata=00171880&ssob=BLBWI0004G&cid=BLBWI0004G:google:gmb:67024 just a heads up. Lock it or lose it, trucks, trailers and sleds in Mont Laurier. Comfort in is my choice of the two.
  6. Duster try here.... http://notawissi.com/en/ or here http://www.mekoos.com/
  7. First week of March the Schools in Quebec are closed for spring break.
  8. Here you go. http://montvilain.ca/relais-de-motoneige/
  9. Oh hell yeah. Next time?
  10. Pretty appropriate and quite awesome if I might say so..... Team Iceman has landed in Antarctica. shaggy is representing down the south pole land.
  11. Feeling left out, with snow all around except here. Seeing snow near St. Georges, and of course Saguenay, Mont Tremblant, and even La Tuque. Here is a few pics from La Tuque
  12. Thanks, I was thinking just that... if not the sawmill they will put something in place. we shall see. I got no response from club in Chibougamau and no help from anyone on CMIQ.
  13. Is it this one? I'm no good with the google earth. Could not find the photo you saw. So not sure.
  14. GT Rider you are on it. I will say that riding on the river Ice is not my favorite thing. I never been to the lighthouse there in this map. But crossing to the Isle d'Orleans outside QC city with playhard and BillD was a real gut check for me anyway. There is something about seeing the water not so far away wide open and at the same time trying to find the path marked with little pieces of trees through the icefield that looks like another planet with all the heaves and pressure ridges. Not my favorite experience out on that ice. However once on the isle was another story. Well worth the exploration with the awesome loops less traveled we found out there. But Mrs. GT is a smart cookie. We know that.
  15. You robbed a bank? Damn don't post stuff like that. Better to keep it quiet. lol.
  16. E-mail sent to club in Chibougamau and posted on CMIQ as well. I used the photo of your map hope. you don't mind.
  17. I don't doubt your map, To me it's like cutting Chibougamau's throat not having any gas between La Dore and Chibougamau. Yes certain machines will have no poblems for sure (right Steve?) just seems stupid and makes me wonder what a trail less traveled will be groomed like?.??? maybe we will finally see some movement on the trail connecting 83 to 93 in Chibougamau? Now that would be sweet.
  18. Interesting. Have to look into that further. I'll see what I can learn.
  19. Well 5 days is a different story like I said. If only 3 days with no room for extending to at least 5, then I am sticking to the Saguenay run. The OP set it at a 3 day ride.
