  1. But what wll it be like in June?
  2. Just announced....... All trails will remain open until May 15. Grooming to continue non-stop. They are making up for lost time earlier in the season. Come on up and enjoy.
  3. I'm hoping you don't care about your sled if you try that. Near Quebec City is done, finished, kaput, game over. No going from there or coming thru. Even leaving St. Raymond after this rain and warm all week will be iffy. i'm sure its much better up on 23 toward L'etape but getting to the good stuff is the issue. Around St. Raymond had to take a hell of a beating this week and the snow is going fast. Gaspe still doable and further east past Quebec probably still good. Saguenay/LSJ with the exception of up on Mont Valin will be ending very soon if not already. Grooming will cease. Everywhere in the next week or 10 days max.
  4. Good luck with that. from 4 points to get east is your biggest problem. Not realistic I think.
  5. Not gonna Kill it. Plenty there. Just have scratchers. Not sure what weather you use but this is the only one I trust. From experience. https://weather.gc.ca/forecast/canada/index_e.html?id=QC
  6. Awesome Pics as usual JG. Getting harder and harder to not pull the trigger and head on over for another ride. Getting the itch.
  7. I will take a pass on that. No merci. If I had the time, I'd still be on the Gaspe or going back. Now is the time.
  8. Absolutely. Surely one week or two to go. This week looking iffy with warm and some rain. Cooler after but grooming will be tge wildcard. Most was so frozen and flat it will not be a problem. My advice is get up there.
  9. Yeah JG For sure all good things unfortunately eventually come to an end. The end is coming for sure.
  10. I'll have him all set up here by next season. They are gonna get on board here as a paid advertiser and join in the forum. Coming soon.
  11. "The whole Gaspesie was groomed, unbelievable prime conditions. But... as soon as you turn onto Groomer's secteur you just know it. The trails are a little bit smoother, a little bit wider, a little bit softer, a little bit nicer. " So very true. Causapscal feel the difference. Trails you dream of all summer. The little extra love put into the trails by the operator is very appreciated. Setting the standard on the Gaspesie. I'd be going back again if I could. Tough to call it done. I'm missing it bad already.
  12. This week looks warm. But next week looking fine. Plenty of riding left out there. Go get it.
  13. Nice to see the gang at Drakkar. Good times last night. The new owner Redge and his wife Nancy are really going all out to make the place all it can be and more. Redge knows well that he can not replace Bernard but he is certainly doing a great job and they are fantastic hosts. The place is all remodeled and by next season will be a well oiled machine ready to welcome riders like no where else. Plans in place for a hot tub and the security gate will be fully operational. Not to mention the full security system of high def cameras. Please support these folks as people like this are not easy to find. So welcoming and ready to help in any way they can. Redge is even taking english classes to be more ready for next years clients. His wife Nancy speaks english and understands it very well. Redge understands and is now working on being able to answer in english. He has made incredible advances this season just from practicing with the guests. Great place with great people. Go there, you will go back again and again. Trigger you guys better buy a lottery ticket or two on the way home cause you are very lucky guy's. Your timing was right on and you probably for sure saw some of the last groomed trail here near Shawi anyway. And had it all to yourself. Double Bonus.
  14. All done Just over 5400 miles total for the season.
  15. Day 6 Thurs The End. Quick run from Edmunston to RDL, 85 all the way to trail to Hotel. Ridonkulously great conditions. 90 miles all done. Loaded up got changed and we hit the Black trail for the trailer drop in Trois Riveres. Clean and green. All good. Trailblazer drafted with us to there and we got rid of the four place and got NHMoose loaded for the run home. Had a great lunch together at Les Ailes Buffalo near the best Yamaha dealer in QC and then it was time to bid farewell for now to the Team. Awesome to get a run with Trailblazer and I am certain we will do many more. As always goes unsaid Playhard is always a joy to spend any time I can with on and off the trail. NHmoose, just as much and man that man is a smart cookie. Everyone on the team compliments the others abilities and then some. A true pleasure to end this season with you guys. Will be counting the days till we ride again. Will see you all in the off season for sure. Until next time. BTW As we were playing musical sleds unloading trailer in Trois Riveres the snow began. Sitting here now watching it neige en masse. 1333 miles this run.
  16. Day 5 Wed. Left Causapscal on perfect trail of course. Tq5 the west and we grab the 587 then the Local to Lac Humqui. Gas in Humqui and we commence the mission for real. Exciting to ride where you never been. And certainly NB is that for 3 of us. Trailblazer covered the ride to the Moose Valley trail perfectly. After the connector trail we end up on NB 135 i think then to moose valley lodge then to 17 I think from there back up into QC to Biencourt. All super nice hard frozen trails but perfect. Gas/lunch in Biencourt and then off toward Degelis on 35 then to 571? All just super. Down to Degilis and onto the 85 back into NB. We run on down and into Edmunston. All good till in town is not easy melty bad here and close to being a no go. Outside of town whole new game. But Trailblazer has family here and he is taking the opportunity to visit so no problems glad he got us here. Thanks to Trailblazer for introducing us to NB and for sure I will return(with stickers) The shared trails near Edmunston here are dicey. Almost made a new friend, well almost pasted by a side by side. Lovely. Great to meet RR finally and get to put face to name. Was funny he passes me going opposite way and is waving over his head like crazy. I'm thinking "wow they really have some strange hand signals here in NB" and keep rolling. This train is hard to stop. Only NH moose realized he was trying to get his attention so he stopped. Anyway was funny afterwards. Been a great trip but like all of them they must come to an end and it may be tmmrw with the weather coming we need to get outs while we can from RDL safely with the trailer. We shall see. 240 miles today.
  17. Hi JG For sure a perfect day. Thanks again for all the fun and the information for the lac Humqui trail.
  18. 30 mile road is that plowed road or closed for winter?
  19. We are Andy. Give us what you got please. The 30 mile road is plowed or not?
  20. Day 4 Tuesday Breakfast at Baie Bleue, just as great as the dinner. Awesome stop there. Met two new friends from Mass. Louis and Frank. Lou is a commercial fisherman from west of Boston aboard his 102' fishing vessel the Sharon K. He is a scallop fisherman. Very intersting to talk to these experienced Quebec Riders with more than 20yrs of just riding in QC. Nice guys. Snow ended last night 3-4" or so but today wicked wind. Load up and we go. Today is a play day as we only got a short hop to see our buddy Groomer tonight. TQ5 west and a few drifted places but childs play compare to our Cote Nord adventure last time out. Wind is howling but we are burning gas having fun, it's good to be us. Blue sky breaks out and it's even better. Trails are super in the woods no drifts here and we rock it. Run 5 all the way to the Local Orange at the clubhouse that cuts the corner back to TQ5 and bypasses Point a la Croix. Here I must say that it's a much nicer run when it's actually open. As last time through here in 2014 trail was closed and we went anyway. Yeah snow was crazy deep and what seemed like 2 hrs then took less than 30 minutes today. More like 20. Sweetness. At 5 we go left and run on down to 587. Some big drifting here on the way to 587. Woo baby. Right onto the beautiful 587 and its nice, real nice. Up to Matapedia and take the gas. We continue up and up here the trail is now along the road. Not on it. Seems they were logging here earlier this season and the trail is diferrent a bit. There is still quite the indy track section in the middle for a bit. Very enjoyable. We run on up and stop at the clubhouse in Albertville. Have a snack and decide what next. NHmoose needs a bolt for his swaybar so we make for Amqui and get his bolt. Faster to install it then for them to get it from the back. Moose does the minor pitcrew work. Now we are off back on the 5 backtrack and on to Causapscal to get settled in. Touchdown 5pm 220 miles Just hanging out now with Groomer, had our Bacon Pizza and some other goodies and now we are spending some time catching up. Jean-Guy to my left (trailblazer) and Jean-guy to my right (Groomer) I'm surrounded by Jean-Guy's. Vino(grape juice) for the Jean Guy duo and Playhard. Me I stick to the Jack. Tmmrw we plot an adventure.
  21. Baie Blue, here in Carleton sur mer is Iceman approved. First time for me here. Awesome resto/pub well worth the stay here.
  22. Quite a nice rig JG. Iceman like.
  23. Day 3 Monday Up early and watched the sun breaking thru next to the rock. So nice. Loaded up and headed out. Back out of Perce and out to TQ5 west. Beautiful conditions, temperature just right and we roll. Destination gas at Grand Rivere. Super trail all the way we see no one first leg, private trails. Love it. Gas and go back to 5 and direction 597. Arrive at the 597 and blastoff. I'm chasing Trailblazer and we are hauling. Trail is sweet as they all have been. Spectacular run to Murdochville and we grab the gas. We passed 4 sleds on 597 headed south. At the gas in Murdoch we see 5 more. 3 get out in front of us headed out of Murdoch but I quickly catch them and dispose of that nonsense. I'm free and running the Orange to La Cache, gonna give this one trail of the trip so far. 15km from La Cache a group of off trail are playing and got a cluster going on. As I approch one guy comes up from the right and jumps up back onto the trail right in front of me. I had backed her down or it would have been messy. It starts snowing a bit now. Nothing crazy. So into La Cache and we take gas and have a soup. We meet 2 nice folks from New Hampshire, hello to Diane and Bob, if you are reading. Nice to talk with you guys. Out of La Cache and down the 595 to New Richmond. 20 Km out of La Cache is some logging there is a trail along the side for most of the 20km of plowed road but not all. Just FYI. Snow is picking up but no big blizzard. Beautiful run down to TQ5 and we go west and it is super duper. We roll west in moderate snow and cruise into Carlton sur Mer at Baie Blue. Private trails for the most part and we love it. Another great day with the Team. 275 miles today. Tommorow we head for Groomerland.
