  1. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. If it does the northern corridor is the place to go (Cochrane to Hearst), but don't go at x-mas (traffic galore). There is some other great pockets like Pembroke to North Bay or north of Sudbury. But if they have snow most of Quebec will as well. Northern corridor is the one area that can have it when large swaths of Quebec doesn't. Two weeks we will be riding in the snow belts I'm sure. Gotta stay positive.
  2. https://m.facebook.com/sledaddicz/ Cochrane Ontario today.
  3. Give it two weeks. Things will improve.
  4. One would think a call to a local tow company that runs flat decks would be an option. Can't see them saying no. But looks like no official shuttle. Made the mistake of staging from Quebec City on a Saturday once. Live and learn. Good place to ride to / through on a Wednesday morning.

  6. Yeah I hate to complain and respect the work it must take to keep these remote outfitters going 100's of km from civilization. But $500 plus a night for a couple can be tough to stomach. Sure adds up on a 5 plus day trip.
  7. Was looking at the golf course. Not really set on anything though. This area seemed like a good choice for easy riding with lots of choice to shorten or extend the days. I've heard nothing but great things about Chaudiere Appalaches. My wife will enjoy not saddlebagging to start the season. The hotels in the area seemed quite reasonably priced as well compared to other areas of the province. Hopefully the weather co-operates and the landowner concerns aren't a major issue. Worst case we go to Abitibi or Northern Ontario instead if it doesn't pan out.
  8. Yeah it's still wait and see on that issue. Got the following reply similar to what others had been told. Regarding the dispute between the Association des propriétaires de boisés privés des Appalaches (APBPA) and the Syndicats des producteurs de bois de la Côte-du-Sud, we do not yet have precise information on any impact on snowmobile trails or on the locations concerned. However, the vast majority of the region's snowmobile trail network will be accessible this winter, as soon as weather conditions permit. Potentially affected areas will be clearly indicated on the conditions map in the iMotoneige application.
  9. Is there many ice crossings in this area? Or are the rivers bridged? Considering a trip to the area in a few weeks time if the weather co-operates and trying to sort out where we will have issues. Also any noteable sights in the area we should catch? I was thinking day loops towards saint magloire, lac megantic and theftford mines staying in the beauceville area for the whole trip. Thanks in advance for any info / recommendations.
  10. CFmoto would be a good buyer. Textron was a poor choice for Arctic Cat.
  11. Yeah maybe a logging, mining or hydro crew is in the area renting the place for the other 1/2 of the winter.
  12. Wonder the thought in this. Did they have someone long term that filled the place for the rest of the winter? Would think it would be a lot of expense to get opened up to only stay open for a few weeks.
  13. Nice looking sled. Have a great trip!!!
  14. Here's hoping they find a buyer that is dedicated to the powersports industry. Textron was never a good fit for arctic cat.
  15. 11th province. Lol. What times we live in.
  16. It's a liberal gov't policy. I believe just cars and trucks. Pretty sure it will never occur. Justin's days are numbered. We will have a conservative gov't here soon enough.
  17. I had that issue, but it eventually fixed itself. The app looks to be working correctly now. Maybe as good as the old version. Even showing some grooming around Val D'or tonight.
  18. Justin will be gone within a year. Can't come soon enough. 8 years too late, but can't change other folks decisions. He never got my vote. Like or hate Trump I think Doug Ford charterised things best. https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/it-s-insulting-ontario-premier-slams-trump-on-canadian-tariff-threat-1.7123600 Anyways who's seen some snow? Starting to get the itch. Where can I go riding in two weeks?
  19. Certainly some folks in the steel and aluminum industry that would say yes things did go to shit in 2018. Talk to the folks in Saguenay next time you're through the area. Big difference between the north and south borders too. Anyways back to sledding.
  20. Yep screw the consumer on both sides of the border. Auto parts cross the border on average 7 times before they end up on a car. Lots of other stats. New York state exports 19.5 billion a year to Canada. Michigan is 27.5 billion. Lots of other states have similar values. What does a 25% retaliatory tarrif do to those economies? Over 50% of the US's crude imports come from Canada. What does tacking 25% onto that do to fuel prices in the US? Canada needs the US and the US needs Canada. It's a balanced relationship with a long history of mutually beneficial free trade. Can it be improved. Absolutely. Both countries should work to address border issues with immigration and drugs (supposidly the reason for this). Roxam rd was a joke with immigrants coming into Quebec from the US. No doubt there is similar issues going in the other direction all of which should be addressed. Both sides would benefit from a crackdown on opiod trafficking. Taffifs against your best friend and neighbour are no way to start discussions on the matter. Folks on both sides should be insulted (many are). Here's hoping this gets resolved so we can get back to snowmobiling.
  21. Definitely sucks. Bring the old one back.
  22. Ohh someone had to start the conversation. Lol. Pretty sure the dinner plate at rdl will cost 25% more seeing as we're starting a trade war. Makes perfect sense. China is the issue. So let's fight with our allies and neighbours Canada. Let the roller coaster ride begin.
  23. Yep 100% correct.
  24. That's a different situation at Mont Valin. Those trails aren't part of the fcmq. It's like a private club. The zec is looking after all maintenance including signage, grooming, etc. which is fair. They are providing the entire product and should be allowed to charge. Locals buy seperate memberships and tourists can get day passes. That's in no way the same situation in Saint Raymond where the fcmq is incurring all the costs. I think that's a key point with the zec in Saint Raymond. People are already paying to snowmobile by buying an FCMQ pass. Charging them just for the right to be on the property is double dipping. Same issue went on with another Zec in Mont Valin last year (seperate from the one you were referencing). They tried the same crap. Eventually it got sorted out, but took half the winter.
  25. Web version won't let me zoom in. It's stuck at a full provincial view.
