This is awful thing to speak about but what are the odds of our government,  as in United States,  deciding that's covid is back. Right after I buy our trail passes.

Its the cdn government that would close the border on you.  You will always be allowed to cross to go home.  I highly doubt we're going down this road again.  Buy your permit and plan your trips.

  2. Any advice on a decent place to stay in the Saint Donat area?  Looking for something comparable to la Cabanon, but in this area for a family trip with the kids.  Not looking to break the bank, but not a dump either.  A pool would be great for the kids.  Looking to go mid February.  Cpl days riding, hit the ice festival in Saint-Come and maybe a day of skiing to mix it up for the kids.

  3. Try this route

Start and finish at the Delta.

Day 1 - 49th parallel trail.  Stay at Hotel Jardin

Day 2 - run TQ83 through Wemotaci.  Stay at Pouvoire Kanawata

Day 3 - Down 345 and head for St Raymond - Stay at Roquemont.  Another option is the St Alexis Pub

Day 4 - Back to the Delta.  TQ23 is phenominal.  Especially the section from L'Etape to Mont Apica.  Avoid the weekends for this leg if possible.

If you still have time I would argue TQ83 south of Saguenay is one of the nicest trails in the province.  Especially from where 383 meets it all the way down to TQ3.  A ride to La Malbaie and back is a great day.

  4. Yeah seems like its out of line price wise.  Then again I thought close to $30,000 for a mach z was nuts too.  But they sold.  So who knows.  Maybe they will sell out all winter long.

It is a little more than a modular helmet with built in comm's.  There is features on this you can only get on this helmet or an Oxygen (sound muffs, huge open shield, elinq, built in neck curtain, etc.).  After owning an Oxygen I tried a mission helmet on.  Nice helmet, but man did I not like having a breath box on my face.  The openness of the Oxygen brings has been a game changer.  And its extremely warm with no drafts.

  5. Yeah its addressing some of the complaints with the Oxygen.  Mainly condensation issues.  Adding the built in comm's is a good idea.  I like the idea of the comms running off the helmet cord.  No more dead batteries.  If you are on batteries they are built into the back of the helmet out of the elements which is also smart.  From what I've heard pricing for the full setup is getting out of hand though.  Not sure I'd want to give up the Oxygen full face designs warmth risking going back to a modular setup though.  Haven't found a modular helmet yet that wasn't drafty.

  6. If it needs to be big and heavy to somewhat resemble a Yamaha he could buy an expedition with a turbo 4 stroke in it.  It will still handle better that a yamaha, but might have similar traits (warm, reliable, fast, etc.).  Lol.  Don't give up on sledding just cause Yamaha did.  Sport has a bright future.  Maybe Taiga will replace them as the 4th OEM if they can get their product out to consumers this fall.  Would be nice if ski doo could get ahold of their power steering system.  This exit does leave a bit of a gap with that percentage of riders that want a sled they can stretch out on with power steering.  Will be interesting to see what the other OEMs do to attract those consumers.

  7. What is everyones experience with noise levels comparing a NA 900 ace to the 150 hp turbo to the newer 130 hp and 180 hp turbos.  The NA motor is whisper quiet (can literally talk over it at a trail stop without shutting it off).  I've noticed the 180 hp turbo r seemed quite loud at a trail stop last winter.  Are the other turbos similar for noise?  Or are they quieter?  Also does it change if you go from a renegade to an expedition or grand touring?  Or are they all using the same muffler?
