who will win the chicken dinner on this one ??
vt_bluyamaha54 replied to snowmaster2112's topic in General Discussion
Nope, once the thaws open things up and the flows start, it’s OVER for me! -
It’s always a sad time when the end comes but nowadays too many won’t recognize the reality that a big spring storm doesn’t restore mid-winter riding.
-
Sounds like a very large project but it will make TQ75 Beauceville to St. George’s much easier
-
Ice - thanks for the detailed write up and much thanks to Caro for lots of great pictures. You probably know I ride a lot in that area and have never seen it look like this in February. As you said, we can’t change it but hope for better days ahead!

Happy they got it out before it froze in but afraid they will have quire a few maintenance issues to deal with.

We depend on the generosity and kindness of landowners. Some riders don’t ‘get it’😡

Yamaha To Exit The Snowmobile Market In Model Year 2025
vt_bluyamaha54 replied to markusvt's topic in General Discussion
Definitely a bad sign for the sport and a sad day for the company that really put 4-strokes on snow. https://www.instagram.com/p/CuCQV2rt5FM/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng== -
Thanks for the amazing pictures Iceman! We should all hope + pray for RAIN to tamp down these fires! Like Steven said, this would be the greatest help. I read tonight that Clova has been evacuated but so far, no buildings have been lost.
-
I take the pledge! We must all do our part to protect the sport and respect the landowners!

The covered bridge in St. Georges has been closed awhile. Maybe 5yrs (?) Way back before it was repaired and reopened many yrs ago we would take the adjacent highway bridge when the River was open.
-
Looks like it might have a locked access??
-
Unfortunately, a real sign of the times. Places can't get help plus combined with high food and commodity costs, owners need to either close or have a very strong, steady customer stream to survive. This is also certain to be occurring at our favorite clubhouses. 😢

Best snowmobile pic of ALL TIME
vt_bluyamaha54 replied to snowmaster2112's topic in General Discussion
Certainly a great pic but I’ve seen many on here over the years. Groomer has probably posted most of the epic ones IMO -
I remember it being closed for quite a while (seasons) back in the 90s and you would detour to the right and cross on the auto bridge. It reopened sometime in the early 2000s and closed again in 2017 (?) Anyone know why it’s closed or what the plan is to reopen it? I know it’s considered ‘Historic’ so I’m sure it’s complicated.but it’s sad to see it unrepaired.

Excellent points Bob. I had suggested the thermal gun because it is quick and easy - and I would expect the dealer would do this after the parts replacements didn’t solve it but who knows. No mention of coolant showing up anywhere externally so I’m betting on someone overlooking water pump function or a restriction in the cooling system.
-
Chris - an overheat situation with a known good thermostat, water pump, sensor, and good coolant levels kinda leaves only the piping and the heat exchanger. Kinda surprised the dealer wasn’t able to cure this for you. I would suggest a thermal imaging gun to check temps at different points in the system with it running. Just my opinion -

Long-Awaited Season Opener 2022!
vt_bluyamaha54 replied to Florida Snowman's topic in General Discussion
Great reporting Tom. Looks like everything aligned for you guys. I’ll have to check in with you when you get back for your thoughts on the Sidewinder. Safe travels - -
Sorry for your misfortune In NH, operation of a snowmobile (or any OHRV) anywhere off of the established trail will result in a ticket for “operation without written landowner permission” results in the $248.00 fine. I believe it was increased for the 2019/2020 season from about $100 it wasn’t stated what trail number or the location where this was but I’m guessing a logging operation either expanded or moved onto the existing trail and someone missed the posting - either on the club’s or nhsa site (?) Most of Pittsburg’s trails exist on paper company land and logging operations take precedence.

This trip really healed the wounds from the last one eh Don (?) Thanks for the great pics and the story to tie it all together. Nice to see your wife enjoying herself - sled + SUP. Have a great, safe off-season!

Very tragic and devastating situation for this family. Glad to hear that his wife will be ok. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild their lives and their home.

I am very sorry to hear this and want to add my voice to all other Quebec Riders offering prayers and well wishes for his full and fast recovery.
