  1. I never updated this after we were there. We did stay at L'Escale. It was hard to find but it was -35 or so and dark. Once we got there we took advantage of the heated garage. The restaurant/Bar was good. There was a DJ that made it very entertaining. Rooms and breakfast were also good. Off the top of my head, I forget where the fuel was. Would stay again but we did book Forestel for next weekend. Frankly we were on the fence but thought Forestel was a bit easier to find and for getting fuel. As I write this, I would still stay at either in a heartbeat.
  2. Thank you for the replies. I am sure L'Escale will be fine otherwise it will be Forestel next time.
  3. Does anyone have the English installation instructions for PC Version? PDF is in french.
  4. I will be in Val D'or next weekend and we have chosen to stay at this property this time. We have always stayed at Forestel but we had issues with them last winter so we are trying somewhere new. If anyone has stayed here? If so, can you comment on the trail access in from 83? Road running etc.? Is there gas available near by? Thank you in advance.
  5. We enjoyed Hotel Matagami when we stayed there.
  6. As of right now, that still shows closed on the OFSC trail status map. However I just noticed they are trying to get it open today or tomorrow.
  7. Must be data info. 189, 190 and 191 are all closed as is the lake trail. I guess they don't want riders heading into Quebec. Looks like the only open route is A102Q.
  8. It's A102Q and that might be our only option or we simply change our route....
  9. FYI: I have a trip planned for this weekend and I was inquiring about the cross border trail from Ontario as well as Quebec. Here is the response from the local club in Rouyn. "For the trail coming in from Kirkland Lake it will not be open on the Quebec side this year." So it looks grim for anyone trying to do cross border trips. A105Q from Cochrane to Laraine is closed for good. A110Q from Kirkland Lake to Rouyn is closed for the season on the Quebec side. A107Q from New Liskeard is also closed likely due to ice conditions.
  10. Yes this is the place we are staying on the Saturday night. I couldn't remember the exact name. I knew it wasn't Joncas, I was just using that as a reference point.
  11. Hi, We have a planned trip on February 5-8 and we plan on riding into Quebec from Ontario near Swisha or somewhere along the river. Our first day in Quebec takes us up TQ43 to 386 and up the the Outfiffer lodge that popped up after Joncas shut down. From their we ride back towards Ontario and cross back at New Liskeard. A few years back, I rode from Senneterre down to Joncas and then to Swish and I recall most of it being great trails, and mainly logging roads. Can anyone comment on my noted route? What are the trails like in general and specifically this winter? Thank you in advance.
  12. This is a great "introduction" into Quebec. It's a great little trip you have planned there. Did a very similar route last year. Like others said, you will be back many more times.
  13. I am an Ontario guy and reading your post made me ask the same question, why are you here there... I love Northern ON & Quebec. Where's the heated garage at Villa Mon Repos? Stayed there a number of time, as recent as the winter before last and I don't recall the heated garage? VMR and Amosphere are both great places. Like them both.
  14. We left Temis. Friday morning rode 200 miles to Val D'or. Forestel is really nice now and it was packed with sledders. Saturday rode 210 miles from Val D'or to Amos via 309 then on to La Sarre and then down to Rouyn Noranda. Sunday was a quick 150 miles back to the truck. Trails were excellent, hospitality was great as always. Saw a Cat catch fire and burn at the gas pump in Anglers. (on 303). We helped pull it away from the pump and put out the fire. Fortunately the gas station had 2 fire extinguishers. At the same station a dead Powertec 800 Doo was dragged in. All were from Ontario. Great weekend all around.
  15. Great, thanks for the update!
