  1. In Maine we are seeing horrible (drunk driving like) accidents from texting.
  2. Thanks for posting the pictures, description and excitement of the new season. Look forward to all your reports this winter. mike
  3. Went to the store yesterday to grab my usual bottle of Mondavi Woodbridge red, got home and realized I bought Redwood, immediately thought of you Groomer! mike
  4. Great pictures Andyman! Reminds me of riding with my family back in the '60's. I almost think sledding in the '60's and early 70's was more fun and family oriented, wish I had saved the few pictures we took. mike
  5. Nice Bill. But needs a picture of you on it. mike
  6. Is the event in Freemont or Epping? Anyone going up Friday night? Watching the weather and watching the wife's mood to see if I can get away. Mike
  7. I used to do this route through New Brunswick. I already had a Maine registration and a Quebec pass. What usually happened in New Brunswick is they had someone waiting near the Maine border and Quebec border to collect your money, and like you said, its only a few miles across. I found going very early in the morning solved this problem. mike
  8. Happy Birthday Ray. I've spent more Canadian Valentine Days with you than my wife. Mike
  9. Spent several weeks on the water this summer at our favorite sporting camp in the Rangeley, Maine mountains trying to beat what little heat we've had. Few mornings recently were in the 30's when we got up. Pics of water toys, including kayaks, Rangeley antique wooden boat, and our 'air taxi' that took Kathy and I on a dinner date to another remote sporting camp. Mike
  10. Have a great time this weekend, folks. Hi to all of you. Mike
  11. Bar Harbor is only a few hours up the coast from me. Never go there any more as it is so crowded. Leaving for the Maine Mountains on Sunday. Mike
  12. Many northern Maine towns sent fire crews the first couple days. Two firefighters, retired from large US fire departments and now on small volunteer Maine fire departments, were interviewed on TV. They said the Megantic fire was unlike anything they had ever witnessed, nothing even close. mike
  13. Very sad disaster. I have stayed overnight a few times over the years in Lac Megantic and have snowmobiled thru the town dozens of times. My camp in Maine was just south of the border with Megantic. If anyone hears of a fund to help these good people, please post it, and the best way for a US citizen to send funds across the border. Mike
  14. Thinking of you Bill, get better soon. Together we'll cut back on those Canadian fries. mike
  15. AAAaAaajjAaaA very happy birthday to you Bill. mike
  16. Just under 4,000 miles for me. Every vacation I took it rained! Worst season for miles in decades. mike
  17. Nice pics, trails look great! Have a great summer! mike
  18. Great report and pics, as always. Keep us posted on conditions this coming week. Have a six day weekend starting Wednesday, and of course they are calling for rain Tuesday. Thanks, mike
  19. Nice! Got a long weekend off starting Wednesday, we'll see what the rain does. Looks perfect at the moment. mike
  20. Wow, that place is really cool, best pics I've seen of it, thanks, mike
  21. Only picked up another inch or two overnight. Riding out of Montmagny is excellent, I just wouldn't take trail 5 east although many sections are fine. I posted pics of this past week's riding including separate pics of Wednesdays ride on Maine section of HCS, probably 2 pages back now. Again, just a few miles south of Montmagny or RDL is awesome. Heading home this morning. mike
  22. I rode from Montmagny to RDL a few days ago. Trail 5 is scratchy in spots along the way, basically for 15 to 20 miles in the middle. I swung thru the Universal Hotel and from the hotel going south was very thin until I got on the RR bed. The south RR below RDL, trail 35 back to Montmagny, trail 55, all excellent and mid winter conditions But it has been warm near the St. Lawrence the past few days, and last night's/today's storm only dumped about an inch in Montmagny. Did not ride today so I do not know what other areas received for snow. mike.
